"Did you pick up a new hobby, sis?"

"A new hobby?"

"Stacking gifts. No matter how rich you are, what are you going to do with all that later?"

In front of us, in the backyard of the Crate family estate, was a literal mountain of gifts. It was piled so high that it nearly matched the height of the four-story mansion.

All of these were gifts sent to celebrate Diana's birthday. For about ten days, they had been arriving one by one, and by the day before her birthday—today—they had accumulated into a full mountain.

"…My dear, beloved brother. If you don't stop teasing your big sister right now, I can't guarantee what will happen next," Diana said with a slight pout, realizing I was mocking her. Trisha, standing nearby, burst into a loud, hearty laugh.@@novelbin@@

Diana turned her glare from me to Trisha, but as always, Trisha paid no mind, even muttering loud enough for everyone to hear, "I'm so jealous. I wish I could get that many gifts for my birthday too."

Of course, her expression was anything but envious. She was simply teasing her older sister, who was clearly overwhelmed by the pile of presents. Diana wasn’t someone who would miss the intention behind those words.

"You can't get gifts like this?"

"Obviously not. It’s not like I run a trading company or stay locked in a room writing letters all day to manage my connections. How many gifts could someone like me even get?"

"Hmm, is that so…"

A meaningful smile appeared on Diana's face—the kind she usually had when she was plotting to get back at Trisha.

"How about we make a bet?"

"A bet? What kind of bet?"
