Chapter 251: Knight King (2)
Woong.
The moment I decided to go to Hong Yu-hwa…
The Black Heavenly Demon Sword vibrated.
‘What’s this?’
A peculiar power lingered within the Black Heavenly Demon Sword.
Even from the perspective of swordsmanship talent, it was no ordinary force.
An incomprehensible, inscrutable sensation overcame me.
[The power of 「Celestial」 resides in the sword.]
[The talent, 「Celestial」, synchronizes with the Black Heavenly Demon Sword (Ex-).]
“……”The talent, 「Celestial(?)」, was something I acquired in the Tower of Demons.
However, I still don’t know what this power truly was.
But I did understand what it signified.
Celestial.
Its meaning was straightforward:
A realm beyond transcendence.
I didn’t know why such power resided in my talent, but—
‘The power of Celestial resides here.’
The reason was simple.
The Heavenly Demon was a Celestial being.
A realm surpassing transcendence, capable of defeating even apostles single-handedly.
Perhaps a being who could face otherworldly gods alone—that was the Heavenly Demon.
Such an existence lingered in the sword.
That alone caused the sword to evolve. The Black Heavenly Demon Sword was transforming into the Black Heavenly God Sword.
‘How will it change?’
I looked at the Black Heavenly God Sword, unable to hide my anticipation.
The Black Heaven, which rejected becoming the Heavenly Demon, forged this divine sword.
Where this sword would lead remained uncertain.
But I knew this sword would have some power tailored for me—something surpassing all other swords I knew.
The Four Seasons Sword retained its original form and the power of the four seasons.
In my case, I was still using the power of the four seasons to maintain the Black Divine Sword, but the power of the four seasons revealed its true strength when confronting otherworldly beings. ȒΑNοβÊš
Apostles posed a particular challenge: they created domains that altered laws in their favor.
The Four Seasons Sword specialized in overturning such powers.
The Excalibur possessed by the King of Knights was specialized for banishing otherworldly entities.
In the future, Kim Seo-hyun’s Formless Sword would possess the ability to infinitely split based on its wielder’s mana and remain unbreakable.
Black Heaven knew me better than anyone in this world.
A sword forged by such a being would undoubtedly possessed a unique power tailored to me.
‘But before that.’
Reaching Hong Yu-hwa came first.
“Do you have urgent business?”
“I’m heading to the Red Tower.”
When I answered the Sword Empress, I felt a tug on my sleeve. It was Kim Ara.
“The Red Tower? Ah……”
The Sword Empress trailed off mid-sentence, her demeanor turning somber, and headed toward the association.
Afterward, we headed to the Red Tower.
“Welcome.”
At the entrance of the Red Tower, the Master of the Red Tower was already waiting.
As Kim Ara and I approached the entrance, a faint sense of observation—barely perceptible even to a Swordmaster’s senses—focused on Kim Ara briefly, before dissipating.
The Master of the Red Tower greeted me with a bright smile.
“It’s been a while.”
“Yes, it has been a while.”
I awkwardly smiled back, bowing deeply at 90 degrees.
After all, this was the man who might become my grandfather-in-law.
“Oh, come now. You’re not just my granddaughter’s boyfriend; you’re a hero of Korea and a public figure. You shouldn’t bow like that.”
The Master of the Red Tower led us inside as he spoke.
A subtle tension enveloped us.
Though their expressions betrayed nothing, the Master of the Red Tower and Kim Ara exuded an air of discomfort.
Caught between them, I chuckled awkwardly and spoke to the Master of the Red Tower.
“Could I ask for a favor?”
“A favor? If it’s within my power, of course.”
“My White Rouge is broken.”
“White Rouge? Ah, the item I crafted back then. Well, it was made to suit your level at the time, but now, I suppose it no longer matches your current level…”
I retrieved a white scabbard from the subspace.
White Rouge, now heavily cracked and on the verge of breaking, came into view.
“It’s severely damaged.”
The Master of the Red Tower examined it and spoke:
“This isn’t external damage. Rather, it appears to have been destroyed by magic. Someone engraved magic onto this, causing it to overheat. It couldn’t withstand the shock and broke. It’s as though the runes used by Veritas were at work here… runes?”
The Master of the Red Tower’s eyes widened.
Then, he looked at me with trembling eyes, before closing them briefly.
When he reopened them, his expression seemed more at ease.
“So that’s what it was. No wonder Veritas proposed to supply potions to our tower.”
For a moment, his expression grew troubled.
“I raised my granddaughter without sparing any effort. I scolded her harshly when she was wrong and spared no expense when she wished to learn something. But sometimes, when I compare her to you… No, forget I said anything. My apologies.”
The Master of the Red Tower gave a bitter smile.
“Yu-hwa is currently engrossed in her studies in the library. Since she’s been cooped up studying, it wouldn’t hurt for her to see her boyfriend after a while.”
After saying this, his gaze briefly landed on Kim Ara.
“…But this is not my place to interfere.”
The Master of the Red Tower closed his eyes, gathered White Rouge, and walked away.
“Oh, the repair of White Rouge will take about five days. Is there anything specific you’d like added?”
“I’d like magic engraved on it.”
“Well, your skills are already renowned across the world. Stop by tomorrow afternoon for a quick consultation.”
With those words, the Master of the Red Tower departed.
Knock, knock.
I knocked on the library door, and with a soft click, it opened on its own.
Inside, rows upon rows of books lined the shelves.
Most of them emanated traces of mana.
Magic Book.
The so-called books that devoured people. Imbued with mana and engraved with magic, they chose their masters. If the master failed to meet the book’s criteria, it turned them into lunatics—an Ego Weapon.
From one corner, Hong Yu-hwa lifted her head.
Her red hair fluttered in the breeze, but her radiant smile froze the moment she saw Kim Ara.
…Surely it’s just my imagination that the atmosphere turned a bit chilly.
Hong Yu-hwa was in a good mood today.
The weather was pleasantly clear.
The salad she had for breakfast was surprisingly decent.
The once-snug clothes felt a bit loose, though the chest area felt tighter.
Her makeup went on better than usual.
That’s why she was in a good mood…
No, that’s just an excuse.
The real reason was the news that her boyfriend, Lee Seo-ha, had defeated the Sword Saint, a story that had taken the nation by storm.
At this point, there wasn’t a single person in Korea who didn’t know his name.
Even spies would need to know about him by now.
In terms of influence, he was above the president.
The president could be dealt with; Lee Seo-ha could not.
That’s why she was in a good mood.
And now, her boyfriend had brought another woman along.
A purple-haired woman, Kim Ara.
Perhaps the one she felt the most wary of.@@novelbin@@
If Ershil simply flirted with Lee Seo-ha, Kim Ara was simply overwhelming in every way.
Her face was small, yet her chest was larger than her face, and her hips were equally pronounced.
Even though Hong Yu-hwa had her own assets, she couldn’t even compare in that regard.
‘Well, at least it’s not Ershil.’
Kim Ara didn’t beat around the bush.
While Ershil was the cunning femme fatale type who toyed with men, Kim Ara was pure and straightforward with her affections.
In a way, that was a relief.
‘I was in such a good mood, though.’
It wasn’t bad.
To be honest, she often found Lee Seo-ha overwhelming.
She was happy yet burdened, which only made her cling to her rank and power even more. Outwardly, that was the case; inwardly, the pressure was even more intense.
Though she never showed it, she could see that Lee Seo-ha was careful around her.
Better this than him causing trouble elsewhere.
After all, it’s better to deal with someone you know.
“The first one is Ara? Not bad.”
Hong Yu-hwa spoke with an air of superiority.
Then, she approached Lee Seo-ha and quietly linked her arm with his.
“Shall we go on a date, then?”
“A date?”
“Isn’t this what they call a double date? How novel.”
Hong Yu-hwa spoke nonchalantly.
But that’s not what a double date meant.
“Where should we go? Do you have a place in mind?”
“Uh…”
“Should we go to a hotel? Your face has become too famous to walk around in public. And… it seems you haven’t quite worked off your desires yet.”
Hong Yu-hwa spoke with a sly expression.
Instinctively, Lee Seo-ha realized that denying her here would be a mistake.
His Swordmaster’s senses screamed at him for survival.
“Where to? Somewhere like Signiel?”
“I don’t like Signiel. It’s unnecessarily tall and just flashy.”
Saying that, they headed to a hotel.
At the hotel entrance, they encountered unexpected figures.
One was clad in full armor, while the other had a long beard that didn’t suit their androgynous face.
It was the Knight King and Merlin, the Gardener of the World Tree.
“Oh, look who it is. The rising star who defeated the Sword Saint, Lee Seo-ha, is it not?”
Merlin approached with an awkwardly theatrical tone.
“What brings you here? Ah, were you staying here?”
“No, I came here for a date. But why are you here?”
“Hmm, hmm. A date with two women? Quite bold of you. The Overlord would be quite strict about such things…”
“……”
Honestly, that was a concern for me as well.
“Well, we’ve been staying here for a while. We were negotiating with the association when we heard the news of the Sword Saint’s fall, which sent us rushing to Japan. We’d like to stay longer, but something suspicious seems to be brewing.”
Merlin’s expression turned cold.
“The Nakamura family has begun to move. Their actions are strange, as if they’re rushing to accomplish something.”
At Merlin’s words, a sense of intuition tugged at me.
I had to go there.
What do you think?
