I Devour Deities

Lin Baici and his two companions returned to the villa, immediately catching Xia Hongyao's attention.

"What happened?"

Sniffing the air, Xia Hongyao detected the scent of blood and the stench of decaying corpses on the trio. "Weren't you guys off to some tycoon's eldest son's birthday party? How did you end up like this? Don't tell me they served fermented auk at the banquet?"

Jin Yingzhen and Hua Yueyu were well protected by Lin Baici, barely involved in the fight and without a speck of blood on them, but being so close to zombies, they couldn't avoid the smell of decay.

Lin Baici looked unflustered, only splattered with blood while clearing the manor.

"What's fermented auk?"

Yi Jisheng was curious. "Why would a food smell like a corpse?"@@novelbin@@

"It's a delicacy favored by the Eskimos in the Arctic. They process the auk, stuff it into a seal's stomach, bury it underground for several months until it ferments completely, then dig it out and suck the innards through the auk's... rear."

Xia Hongyao provided an explanation.

"Stop, that's enough!" Gu Qingqiu quickly interjected, fearing she'd lose her appetite for weeks if the description continued.

"Hehe, the scene we witnessed today was far more disgusting than fermented auk."

Hua Yueyu, who had played her fair share of immersive zombie games, found none could compare to the real-life horror they faced today.

"We encountered a contamination of the rules!"

Jin Yingzhen briefly explained.
