100 Days Of Escaping My Wedding

Chapter 23 - 23 23 What a Perfect Resolution

Chapter 23: Chapter 23: What a Perfect Resolution! Chapter 23: Chapter 23: What a Perfect Resolution! Mu WuXie’s expression was serious, “Xiaoqiao, don’t lie to me.”

Gong Xiaoqiao waved her hand, “Oh my, what would I lie to you for, don’t be so tense! What can a frail woman like me possibly do?”

Mu WuXie looked at Gong Xiaoqiao with extreme distrust. Since he was young, his master had taught him that women are as fierce as tigers, and he didn’t dare to slack off in the slightest.

“Xiaoqiao, listen to me, ‘If the heart does not move, then one will not act rashly. All is void, and without movement, there is no harm.'”
“Big brother…”

“‘Bonds of love only lead to worries, and from love stems fear. Those who can renounce affection forever break free from fear. Desire for sensual pleasure is the most intense of all; such desire knows no greater adversary than lust. Once lust is relied upon, one cannot pursue the path.’
“Big brother…”

“‘When a single thought of greed arises, a million obstacles are born. If sentient beings wish to escape life and death, to be spared from the cycle of reincarnation, they must first sever greed and remove desires of love. Those without worldly attachments thus are free from the dust of worries and toil. If this thought is not severed, one will surely fall into the demonic path. Without form, without aspect, without anger, without madness, only then can one transcend the dust of toil…'”
“If you keep talking, I’m going to kiss you,” Gong Xiaoqiao said quickly.

Mu WuXie: “…”

Good grief! The world finally became quiet.

Gong Xiaoqiao contentedly pulled Mu WuXie, who had his thin lips tightly sealed, inside.

Gong Xiaoqiao was wearing a short black lace dress, a black rose tilted in her hair with a thin layer of netting that covered her forehead and half of her face, and her long, sleek hair hung straight down to her waist.

The overall look was somewhat eerie and dark.

She had barely entered the room when she captivated everyone’s attention.

Qin Yao’s hand trembled, spilling half of the red wine he was holding.

Gu Xiaorou looked at him suspiciously, “Qin Yao, what’s wrong?”

She followed Qin Yao’s gaze, “…Xiaoqiao?”

Gong Hannian also looked over, and then the previously gracious and proper expression on his face suddenly plummeted like a three-thousand-foot waterfall, “Why is she here…”

Gu Xiaorou was stunned for a few seconds, then immediately put on a surprised and delighted smile, warmly greeting her, “Xiaoqiao, you’re back! I thought you couldn’t make it!”

Gong Xiaoqiao looked incredulously at the two people before her, barely able to stand steady, suppressing the trembling in her voice, “Big brother, is this why you didn’t want me to come?”

“…” Mu WuXie turned his head away and fell silent.

Gong Xiaoqiao knew he wouldn’t put on an act, but he would definitely not blow her cover.

“Xiaoqiao, what’s wrong?” Seeing her distressed appearance, Gu Xiaorou asked with confusion.

Moments later, Gong Xiaoqiao regained her composure, the corners of her mouth holding a faint trace of mockery, “I’ve always been in A city. Big brother said he was attending an important engagement party tonight, I didn’t expect to see old acquaintances…”

“Ah? How could that be, but my brother said you’d gone to D city and couldn’t come…”

“I didn’t even know when you guys came back, how could I know that you were getting engaged today.”

“How could this be, why would brother lie to me…” Gu Xiaorou shook her head, looking utterly bewildered.

Was she truly unaware or pretending not to understand? It seemed that compared to acting, Gu Xiaorou’s non-professional skills should not be underestimated.

“It seems I shouldn’t have come,” said Gong Xiaoqiao, turning around to leave, but a cool hand grasped her wrist.

Feeling her icy gaze, Qin Yao slowly let go, “Since you’re here, why not sit for a while before leaving.”

Gu Xiaorou glanced at Qin Yao, her face a bit pale, but quickly continued, “Right, Xiaoqiao, why leave so soon after arriving? Come on over, I even brought you a gift!”

As if the earlier coldness had been an illusion, Gong Xiaoqiao smiled brightly, “Sure!”

Gu Xiaorou hadn’t expected Gong Xiaoqiao to agree so readily, and her face went a few shades paler.
