Chapter 340: Chapter 266: Goodbye_2
“Ugh—————!!”
Leon, who was suddenly attacked, was caught off guard. He didn’t even manage to pull the trigger before he saw his opponent forcefully disarming him, his gun dropping to the ground. However, Leon responded quickly, swiftly drawing the dagger at his waist to fight back. In that moment, however, a voice rang out.
“Hey, big guy, stop! He’s not our enemy!!”
“I see.”
The instant Leon registered those words, he was thrown to the ground. Thankfully, the thick carpeting within the airport broke his fall. Recovering quickly from the jolt, Leon rolled over and picked up the gun lying next to him. Training it towards the figure before him, Leon was taken aback when he got a clear look at the shadowy figure.
What kind of monster is this?!
Under the illumination of the flashlight, a tall man, standing nearly as high as the ceiling, and bald, was standing right there. He was wearing a strange coat, covered in blood stains, and his cruel and wicked face was terrifying. For a moment, Leon almost lost his grip on his gun from the shock.
This guy is far more terrifying than a Tyrant!
As Leon was unsure whether to attack or retreat, a familiar figure appeared behind this large man.
“Hey, Leon!”
“Claire?”
Seeing Claire provided Leon with a momentary relief, he lowered his gun and cast a wary gaze at Duanmu Huai. Looking further, he saw a little girl, a flight attendant, and a fat man with a massive head — his target.
“This is…”
Faced with the scene before him, Leon was completely dumbfounded.
After that, the two sides united. Leon and the group finally figured out what was going on, and they moved forward as a group again. They smoothly left the airport.
However, just as Leon and Claire were leaving the airport building, Duanmu Huai had quietly disappeared again.
“Claire, who the hell is that guy?”
Leon tracked down Claire and asked urgently. He was almost sure that this mysterious man who had appeared at the airport was the man he’d previously heard about. After bringing Ashley back to his country, Leon had questioned her about her situation. Now, he was sure that this man was the one who had saved Ashley back then.
After all, his attire was too peculiar, and along with his height and appearance, there’d hardly be anyone else like him…
Leon had originally intended to locate that man for a talk after leaving the airport, his front foot stepping out of the airport gate, only to find Duanmu Huai had vanished without a trace behind him?
How’d such a large man disappear? How come no one saw anything?
“I don’t know much about him either…”
If it was someone else, Claire might have glossed over it, but since Leon was somewhat familiar to her, she didn’t mind sharing what she knew. As Claire had said, she didn’t know much about him either. In any case, she knew the big guy was pretty decent, quite formidable, and had received some kind of martial arts training that made him impervious to bullets, even capable of going up against a Tyrant alone… Claire’s words left Leon in a state of stupefaction. At least he was able to resolve some of his doubts.
After all, when Ashley was explaining the situation back then, she mentioned that the big guy was practically immune to weapons, none of the villagers, armed with guns and knives, could even scratch his skin, Leon thought Ashley was joking. Where would such a person be found? Even a Tyrant would be hurt if shot, and if you were being fired upon by a group of villagers without getting hurt, you are no less than a Terminator!
Now, hearing from Claire that Duanmu Huai had trained in something known as the “Golden Bell Cover”, everything… uh, made some sense.
After all, in the West, kung fu is perceived as a skill that not only makes one impervious to blades and bullets, but also have supernatural abilities like leaping over rooftops and walls…
Of course, that’s not the point.
“Do you know why he came here?”
“He said it was for work.”
“Work…”
Upon hearing this, Leon furrowed his brows. He recalled Ashley mentioning that Duanmu Huai had also visited that village for work — to eliminate all Heretical Cultists. He did what he said, killing roughly a thousand villagers without sparing a single life.
Not even a single chicken was left alive!
And now, he came here, again for work?
He can’t possibly be planning to wipe out this entire city, can he…
“Huh…”
Just then, a convoy of vehicles appeared outside the camp. Seeing this, Claire dashed over.
“Claire!”
Seeing Claire depart, Leon promptly followed. They went to the side of the camp to see a group of people in white lab coats unloading goods from a truck. Claire went over and recognized the Trichain Pharmaceuticals logo, immediately turning pale.
“Why would Trichain’s medicine be here?”
“Because it’s the vaccine.”
Just then, a voice answered Claire’s question. She turned around to see a man in a gray suit, wearing glasses, standing not far away, smiling at her and Leon.
“Who are you?”
Eyeing the man standing before her, Claire furrowed her brows and asked. At that moment, the rotund senator also made his way over.
What do you think?
