Volume 13 Chapter 47: Welcoming Eri 

“Mmmm.” Eri bobbed her head. Keith took a pair of scissors and cut the ends.

“…Maybe we should have cut first, then washed.” A chuckle came out as he used his water magic to clean her again.

“Aria.” “Hoo.” The owl quickly created a gust of wind and blew all the hair away. Combing her hair and leaving it straight was good enough.

Adorable. That was the only way to describe this little baby. Her cheeks were less chubby, but there were definitely dumpling materials. She had beautiful, vibrant sapphire eyes, yet with a shade of pink.

“Are you fine with these clothes?” Since taking care of Leon and Laura, he would have some clothes stocked in his storage in case of emergency. A little on the big side, but it was good enough for Eri in this situation.

“Umm.” Eri nodded as she took the clothes. That was when the two heard the shout, “Keith! We’re done with the food!”

“Understood.” Keith picked her up and headed into the dining room. A few tilted their heads when they spotted the new addition in his hand.

“Huh? When did you get a kid?” Herrick was confused by the sudden arrival of the new guest.

“Her name is Eri, and I guess she’ll be staying here. Play nice.” Keith laughed.

“So adorable!” Carolyn and the other girls couldn’t help but marvel at Eri’s cuteness. Now that she had washed up, it was a cuteness overload for them as her fox ears wiggle back and forth.

But seeing all of their gazes, she quickly hid in his shoulder. Keith sighed, “Guys, let’s not ogle our guest.”

“Yes.” The others nodded, but that didn’t stop them from doing so. It was a little eye-catching with her there.

Cadmus mischievously added, “Keith, you know you can’t have people staying on the island.” But that was enough to cause everyone to shout at him.

"!" Sniffle! Eri started to tear up when she heard that. Despite seemingly not knowing how to talk, she understood his words!

“Cadmus, how could you say something like that!”

“Evil Headmaster!”

“What a jerk!”

“I was only kidding!” Cadmus quickly raised his hand and noticed all of them glaring at him with evil eyes. Scum. That was what everyone was saying.

Long Yueying and Yukiko sighed, “Honey, that’s not a joke.” “Indeed.”

"Someone who left his wives and kids shouldn't be talking." Keith sneered.

STAB! Cadmus was going to die from those words!

Sohma added, "Keith, she can stay here." Unlike him, he wasn't harsh or comical enough to say anything else.

"Thank you, Uncle Sohma." Keith rolled his eyes at one dragon as he sat down in his seat.

“Eri, do you want to sit?”

“...Nnh.” She shook her head as she nestled into his shoulders more.

Patting her head, “Alright, you could sit on my lap, but we’re going to eat now. You must be hungry.”

“…” Eri didn’t say anything else, but she turned around to glance at the food. A little drool floated down the side of his mouth.

“Do you have anything you want to try?”

“….” The little fox pointed at the fried shrimp. Keith nodded as he stabbed one for her to eat. And that was the gong as the rest started to eat!

“Fried food after such days of hard work is the best!”

“You can say that again!”

“…I take it you two had gone to the dungeon?” A dungeon with Herrick and Melor was synonymous with one another. Keith shook his head as he continued to hand food to Eri as they ate.

She had a great appetite, which was normal for a child.

After some time, they finished the food. Everyone wanted to get acquainted with the fox. However, the fox didn't want to get to know them...well, not yet. The only ones she really got along with were Fira, Mir, and Lei.

"Alright, I think it's time for you to go to sleep. Let's go brush your teeth. I got a few spare items." Keith picked the child up and headed to the bathroom. Melor muttered, "Keith, really got the dad thing down." There were no two ways about it; the way he subtly gets everything for her without noticing was impressive.

"Don't forget he has a brother and sister."

"But that doesn't explain how well he is."

"Carolyn?"

"Keith basically watched over the two. He's more like a second parent than a brother." It was the same way. Also, "He had to take care of Cadmus as well."

"Hey! Carolyn, that's the same thing for you!"

Late at night,

“Do you want me to read you a bedtime story?”

“Story?” “Ahh, how about this.” Keith took out a book and started to read it to the girl. And Fira was by her side as they slowly got drowsy and fell asleep.

Keith gently raised the blanket to cover her as he drifted off as well.
