Chapter 1251: Chaotic Battle
Chapter 1251: Chaotic Battle
Right at this moment, Immortal Lord Miao Fa shuddered as she violently threw up a mouthful of blood while stumbling forward in an involuntary manner.
The storm of blue swordlight falling from the heavens abruptly ceased, while the cloud of glacial mist also dissipated.
Before she had a chance to steady herself, a burst of silver flames suddenly erupted out of her lotus flower throne, forming a giant, fiery lotus flower that threatened to devour her whole.
Thankfully, she reacted very quickly, moving over a hundred feet to the side in the blink of an eye to just barely evade the silver flames.
The fiery lotus flower transformed into a silver fire raven that came swooping directly at her, and she hurriedly raised a hand to summon her blue immortal sword back into her grasp.
However, what came flying toward her was not just her sword, but also Jin Tong, who was grabbing tightly onto the hilt of the sword.
Immortal Lord Miao Fa was astonished to see this, and Han Li pounced on the opportunity to appear behind her in a wraith-like manner before piercing his sword through her chest.
Countless arcs of golden lightning erupted out of the chest and back, causing her to let loose an agonized howl, while her complexion also turned deathly pale.
"You thought Jin Tong was hiding underground, so you descended to the ground as well, but she was actually lurking up in the air this entire time," Han Li revealed.
"Impossible... How did she seize control of my Profound Frost Immortal Sword?" Immortal Lord Miao Fa exclaimed as blood trickled down from the corner of her lips."You can have this crappy sword back for all I care! It's so cold and hard and not delicious at all!" Jin Tong scoffed as she tossed the sword down by Immortal Lord Miao Fa's feet.
Immortal Lord Miao Fa looked down at the sword, and she was distraught to discover that a chunk of its blade was missing, looking as if it had just had a bite taken out of it.
"Damn, that thing is cold!" Jin Tong complained as she rubbed her frozen hands together with a disdainful expression.
"I was too complacent this time, but I'll make you pay for what you've done to me a hundred times over the next time we meet!" Immortal Lord Miao Fa spat through gritted teeth.
Immediately thereafter, her entire body turned to ice, freezing Han Li and his Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Sword within it.
A burst of radiant, blue light then appeared at the center of the ice sculpture before erupting in all directions, sending countless particles of blue ice sweeping through the air in all directions like a fierce snowstorm.
A long while later, all of the blue ice crystals finally settled, and the entire surrounding area had already been transformed into a world of snow and ice.
Han Li and Jin Tong scoured their surroundings to discover that Immortal Lord Miao Fa had already vanished, along with her lotus flower throne and Profound Frost Immortal Sword, and a disgruntled look appeared on Jin Tong's face as she yelled, "I can't believe we let her get away!"
"It's fine, we didn't want to engage her in a prolonged battle to begin with. You did very well to drive her away so quickly," Han Li said with a smile as he reflexively reached out to pat Jin Tong's head, only to sheepishly withdraw his hand as it dawned on him that Jin Tong was no longer the little girl that she once was.
An amused grin appeared on Jin Tong's face at the sight of his embarrassed display.
"Alright, you can go rest in the Flower Branch domain as well. I'm going to focus my attention on pursuing Wyrm 3 and the others," Han Li said.
"Who knows where they could be by now?" Jin Tong groaned.
"It's fine. They were being pursued by Nine Origins Temple cultivators the entire time, so I'm sure there would've left a trail of battle behind, and all I have to do is follow that trail," Han Li said.
After sending Jin Tong into the Flower Branch domain, Han Li concealed himself using his black Reincarnation Palace mask, then set off after Wyrm 3's group.
The two groups of cultivators up ahead hadn't made any effort in concealing their tracks, so following them proved to be quite an easy task, and before long, he had arrived near a palace, within which the sounds of a fierce, ongoing battle could be heard.
Han Li was just about to approach the palace gates to take a look inside when his expression suddenly changed slightly, and he ducked behind a large rock, then cast his gaze toward the two stone pillars in front of the gates as he activated his Infernal Devilish Eyes.
There was a transparent, humanoid figure pressed against each of the stone pillars, and they were none other than Chi Meng and Huo Yuan.
At the moment, both of them had their attention focused on the scene unfolding inside the palace, so they failed to detect Han Li's arrival.
Of course, the concealment effect of his black mask also played a role in their failure to sense his presence.
Han Li took a glance at the two figures in hiding, then sank silently into the ground before slowly moving toward the palace, and it didn't take long before arrived at its gates.
From this position, he was able to see a fierce battle taking place in the palace between two parties, one of which consisted of Wyrm 3's group of five, while the other was comprised of Daoist Master Chun Jun and the two assistant abbots, Yang Junzi and Daoist Master Lei Jun.
Daoist Master Chun Jun was locked in battle against the man wearing the rabbit mask, while Yang Junzi and Daoist Master Lei Jun were seated in a giant array, within which was a golden altar with numerous golden giants that were dozens of feet tall standing around it.
These golden giants were clad in suits of armor and wielding massive, bladed weapons, with which they were unleashing long streaks of golden light while drawing upon the power of the surrounding array.
These streaks of golden light weren't all that remarkable in appearance, but they were were imbued with tremendous metal-attribute law powers, and the golden giants were able to hold their own just fine against Wu Yang, Lu Chuanfeng, Wyrm 3, and the woman in the veiled hat.
Hovering above the golden altar was a radiant, golden cloud that seemed to have been harboring some type of treasure, but the cloud was too bright for observers to catch a clear glimpse of whatever was inside.
Furthermore, the cloud was constantly moving like a living creature, giving off astonishing spiritual power fluctuations while also occasionally releasing bursts of golden light that were imbued with incredibly sharp metal law powers.
All of a sudden, the cloud turned an earthy yellow color, and the law power fluctuations that it was giving off also turned to that of the earth-attribute, causing the surrounding space to tremble violently, as if it couldn't bear the yellow cloud's enormous weight.
In the next instant, the cloud turned a lively green color while giving off tremendous wood law power fluctuations, instantly filling the entire palace with exuberant life energy.
From there, the cloud transitioned through two more different colors, namely crimson and blue, before restarting the cycle anew.
The five Reincarnation Palace cultivators were staring intently at the cloud above the altar, unleashing various types of attacks while converging toward the altar from all directions.
All the while, the Nine Origins Temple trio were resisting with all their might.
The battle had already reached white-hot intensity, but the palace was clearly bolstered by extremely powerful restrictions, allowing it to withstand the shockwaves from the battle.
What kind of treasure is in that cloud? It contains five different types of law powers! Han Li thought to himself with a stunned expression.
The higher the caliber of an immortal treasure, the more emphasis had to be placed on the purity of the law powers that it contained.
The treasure in the cloud was giving off extremely formidable aura fluctuations, surpassing even those of his Eon Divine Lamp, and somehow, it contained five types of law powers.
With that in mind, he projected what he was seeing into the Flower Branch domain, then asked Jin Tong, Weeping Soul, and Xiaobai if they had ever seen a treasure like this.
Jin Tong and Weeping Soul were also both stunned to see this, and they shook their heads to indicate that they had never seen anything like this, while a thoughtful look had appeared on Xiaobai's face.
"Do you know something, Xiaobai?" Han Li asked upon noticing his expression.
"While inheriting my father's bloodline power, I also inherited some of his memories, and there are memories of him and His Majesty, Bai Ze, attempting to refine an immortal treasure that was also supposed to contain multiple different types of law powers. Unfortunately, it ultimately ended in failure, and I can't find any further details on the matter in my father's memories," Xiaobai replied, and Han Li nodded in response.
He observed the cloud for a moment longer before turning his attention to the ongoing battle in the palace, focusing mostly on the woman wearing the veiled hat and the man with the rabbit mask on his face.
The woman had revealed the full extent of her early-Great Encompassment Stage cultivation base, and there was a layer of dark red light over her body, but it was split up into six layers of varying tones, like the spectrum of a rainbow.
She was wielding a dark red mirror immortal treasure as she fought against four or five of the golden giants, and the mirror was capable of releasing astonishingly powerful beams of dark red light that were able to vanquish the streaks of golden light unleashed by the golden giants with ease.
Even though there were several golden giants opposing her at once, she had still managed to gain a firm upper hand.
She's using reincarnation law powers! Han Li observed.
However, her reincarnation law powers were completely different from those wielded by Wyrm 3.
Wyrm 3's reincarnation law powers were extremely unyielding and aggressive, while this woman's reincarnation law powers were more mellow and versatile.
Wu Yang, Lu Chuanfeng, and Wyrm 3 were also all putting their abilities on display, gaining steady upper hands over the rest of the golden giants.
However, the golden array around the altar was extremely profound, and it was connected to the Nine Origins Palace, granting it a virtually limitless source of metal law powers. Hence, even though the Reincarnation Palace cultivators were all in advantageous positions, they remained unable to vanquish the golden giants.
What do you think?
