A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality: Immortal Realm

Chapter 1260: Raised Flagon Mountain

Chapter 1260: Raised Flagon Mountain

The Chu Yu Immortal Region was a tiny immortal region neighboring the Golden Origin Immortal Region that was only around half the size of the Northern Glacial Immortal Region. However, it was quite prosperous, thanks to its close proximity to the greater Golden Origin Immortal Region.

Unfortunately, its tiny size limited the amount of resources that it was home to, so even though it frequently traded with other immortal regions, there was still yet to be a truly powerful sect to emerge within its borders. The two most formidable powers of the immortal region consist of a mountain and a palace.

Needless to say, the palace was naturally the Chu Yu Immortal Palace, while the mountain was Raised Flago Mountain, the most powerful sect in the entire immortal region.

Raised Flagon Mountain was slightly more powerful than the Blaze Dragon Dao during the latter's heyday, and its patriarch and current mountain master were both High Zenith cultivators, joined by a large supporting cast of Golden Immortal.

The sect was rather interesting in that it didn't excel in cultivation, nor did it dabble in pill or tool refinement. Instead, it focused primarily on refining all types of immortal wines.

Most of the immortal wines produced by the sect could nourish one's body and soul, and there were even some special wines that could help cultivators overcome their five decays, thereby making them very highly sought after.

If that were the extent of it, then the immortal wines produced by the sect would only have been of interest to cultivators below the High Zenith Stage, but as it turned out, they were very popular among cultivators of the High Zenith Stage and even the Great Encompassment Stage.

The reason for this was that Raised Flagon Mountain had honed the art of wine brewing to the extreme.

The natural environment of Raised Flagon Mountain was also rather special. Its main peak was called the Jade Flagon Peak, and it resembled a giant wine flagon in shape. It was said that there was a wine cellar under the mountain, containing all types of fine wines brewed by the sect over the years.

The wine cellar in question was a natural underground cave, and it was a restricted area of the sect that was accessible only to the mountain master, the founding father, and several core elders.

However, unbeknownst to all of them, a cave abode had been sneakily dug out deep in the cellar, and there was a multitude of arrays set up around it, concealing everything within.

At this moment, Han Li was seated with his legs crossed on a stone bed in one of the rooms of the cave abode, and he was wearing his black Reincarnation Palace mask while muttering something to himself.

However, he wasn't chanting an incantation or anything like that. Instead, he was purely complaining to himself.

Moments later, a disappointed look appeared on his face as he removed the mask, and Xiaobai immediately approached him before asking, "How did you go, Master? Did you manage to get into contact with her?"

"No. I don't know what's going on with Wyrm 3, but I haven't been able to get into contact with her at all over the past few months," Han Li replied with a shake of his head.

"Could it be that she failed to get away and was captured by the Nine Origins Temple?" Xiaobai speculated.

Han Li shook his head and offered no response. He had personally seen Wyrm 3 and the others get away. Even Li Yuanjiu hadn't been able to stop them, so they definitely hadn't been captured.

He was naturally attempting to contact Wyrm 3 in order to find out more information about Nangong Wan, but for some reason, she remained impossible to get in touch with.

All of a sudden, Han Li's brows furrowed slightly as he scoured his surroundings, then asked, "Where has Jin Tong run off to again?"

"Boss has probably gone to steal wine to drink again. The wine here really is something else," Xiaobai replied as he began to involuntarily salivate, while Han Li massaged his own glabella in dismay.

Raised Flagon Mountain didn't have much else going for it, but when it came to brewing wine, even Daoist Hu Yan would have to concede inferiority. Not only were there hundreds of different types of immortal wines stored in this cellar, there was a particular one by the name of Martial Empress that had been designed specifically for female cultivators.

Martial Empress didn't have a strong aroma like other immortal wines, but it was very clear in color and had a sweet and delicate flavor. On top of that, the wine placed the drinker into a blissful, half-asleep state, and that was what made it so popular among female cultivators.

Jin Tong had discovered this type of wine not long after arriving here, and it had instantly become her favorite.

Right as Han Li and Xiaobai were speaking with one another, Jin Tong stumbled into the room in an unsteady manner, carrying a black jar that was even larger than her own head, wafting out of which was a special, fruity, wine aroma.

"I'm back, Uncle," Jin Tong declared as she sat down onto the ground next to him with the jar of wine sitting on her lap.

"Haven't I told you that you can't go and steal any more wine?" Han Li scolded with a stern expression.

"I didn't steal any, all of the Martial Empress in here is mine. If you don't believe me, take a look," Jin Tong protested as she held up the wine jar in front of Han Li, revealing the characters for "Jin Tong" scrawled onto it in wonky text.

"You can't keep misbehaving like this! If the Raised Flagon Mountain cultivators catch you, then we're going to be exposed!" Han Li reprimanded in a displeased manner, snapping Jin Tong out of her drunken state.

"Fine, then let them expose us! I'm about to die of boredom here!" she retaliated, starting to get a little angry herself.

Han Li's demeanor softened slightly upon hearing this, and he sighed, "I know you don't want to stay here, but you've seen what's been happening of late. After what happened in the greater Golden Origin Immortal Region, all of the nearby immortal regions have suddenly begun experiencing mass unrest. We had only just arrived in the Chu Yu Immortal Region when immortal envoys from the Heavenly Court arrived hot on our tail. If we go out now, only to be surrounded, then we'll be doomed."

"If you want me to be patient and wait, then you'll have to let me drink as much wine as I like," Jin Tong harrumphed coldly.

Before Han Li had a chance to respond, his expression suddenly changed drastically as a pillar of white light came crashing through the ceiling of the cave abode up above.

The entire Jade Flagon Peak shuddered violently as a massive crater that was over ten thousand feet in size was blasted into the eastern foot of the mountain, and the crater was perfectly filled by the pillar of white light crashing down from above.

There were five figures hovering around the pillar of light, one of whom had greenish-purple skin and an authoritative appearance that struck awe and veneration into the heart of the beholder. He was also very tall and imposing and clad in a suit of golden armor, giving him the appearance of a majestic, ancient god of war.

However, what was most astonishing about him was his late-Great Encompassment Stage aura.

There was a man and a woman standing on either side of him, and the man was very elderly in appearance with a wrinkled and wizened face, but there was a glowing, golden circle in each of his pupils. The woman appeared far more youthful, but she wasn't particularly beautiful, and the grim look on her face certainly didn't help her cause in that regard.

Both of them were wearing immortal envoy attire, and it was clear from their demeanors that they regarded the armorclad man as their leader.

Standing behind the trio was a thin elderly man with a rather red nose and a golden-robed middle-aged man, both of whom possessed far inferior auras to the trio.

The thin elderly man was stealing occasional glances down at the crater beneath the pillar of white light with a pained look on his face, while the golden-robed man remained silent, looking straight ahead with an indifferent expression.

They were the patriarch of Raised Flagon Mountain and the master of the Chu Yu Immortal Palace, respectively, and they should've been the two most powerful figures in this immortal region, yet they didn't even dare to breathe too loudly in the presence of the trio standing before them.

There were also several thousand people standing a short distance behind them, most of whom were local cultivators of the Chu Yu Immortal Region and elders and disciples of Raised Flagon Mountain.

Hovering above them were ten more Heavenly Court cultivators dressed in immortal envoy attire, and at the center of the circle formed by the ten cultivators was a round, silver mirror, which was the source of the pillar of white light that had blasted its way straight through the foot of the Jade Flagon Peak.

"Master Yue Qing, if you ask me, someone who's resorted to hiding in Raised Flagon Mountain has to be some small fry that wasn't able to get very far away. It's very unlikely to be the likes of Lu Chuanfeng or Immortal Lord Heavenly Star, so there was no need for you to come here in person," the female immortal envoy said to the armorclad man.

A hint of killing intent flashed through the man's eyes as he snapped, "Not only did Lu Chuanfeng humiliate our Heavenly Court by killing Immortal Envoy Feng Tian, he also forced me to come out of seclusion early to fill in for him as the Golden Origin Immortal Palace Master! Regardless if it's one of those two hiding here, all Reincarnation Palace scum must be eradicated!"

The armorclad man by the name of Yue Qing had previously been a divine official of the Heavenly Court, but he had been sent to the Golden Origin Immortal Palace from the Middle Earth Immortal Region in the wake of the tumultuous events that had unfolded.

He had been sent there to quell the unrest in the nearby immortal regions as soon as possible, as well as to secretly monitor the Nine Origins Temple and keep it in check.

As they were speaking with one another, a ring-shaped rune suddenly appeared over the silver mirror hanging high up in the sky, and the pillar of light shining down from it began to slowly shrink.

Before long, three figures were dragged out from underground by the pillar of white light.

Within the pillar of white light, Han Li hadn't bothered to adopt any disguise. After all, with Jin Tong and Xiaobai by his side, he wouldn't have been able to hide his own identity anyway.

The Heavenly Court cultivators were ecstatic to see him.

"It's Han Li!" one of the immortal envoys proclaimed in an elated manner.

"Pofeng, Wuhui, is this the one they call Han Li?" Yue Qing asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"That's right, Master Yue Qing," the female immortal envoy by the name of Pofeng replied.
