Chapter 1289: Leaving the Yama Manor
Chapter 1289: Leaving the Yama Manor
Han Li's robes were instantly reduced to nothingness by the golden light erupting out of his body, and all of his hair began to stand up on end in a completely vertical fashion. At the same time, countless crimson runes had appeared over his exposed body.
Right at this moment, the Heaven Controlling Vial rose up from his chest to hover in front of his eyes, and all of the leaf patterns on its surface lit up, releasing a burst of green radiance that encompassed his entire body, following which the vial spirit's voice suddenly rang out.
"You really are a lucky little bastard! Focus all of your efforts on absorbing this power, I'll take care of the rest."
Han Li wanted to cuss out the vial spirit for finally showing up after pretending to be mute this entire time, but he was in too much pain to utter a coherent sentence.
He did as the vial spirit instructed, opening up all of his acupoints to embrace the time law power surging into his body, and all of a sudden, he felt as if an explosion had suddenly rung out in his mind.
His spiritual sense descended deep into his consciousness, and he was no longer able to feel any of the changes in his physical body, but he had become far more sensitive to the changes taking place in his consciousness.
All of a sudden, a series of golden characters appeared in his consciousness to form a passage of golden text, and it was the contents of the golden jade book that had been given to him by Patriarch Miro.
The book contained Patriarch Miro's cultivation insights when it came to the laws of time, as well as many of the True Mantra Sect's time-attribute secret techniques, including the likes of the Mantra Domain and the True Mantra Palm Seal.
Han Li immediately began reading through the passage of text, and before long, he became completely immersed in it.
......Close to twenty years flew by in a flash.
Under the cloud of suffocating miasma, the lush and vibrant island had been reduced to a barren wasteland.
Weeping Soul was seated with her legs crossed and her eyes closed beside the stone plaque at the center of the island with the Soul Locking Box that contained Gui Wu's soul fragment sitting beside her, while Jin Tong was nowhere to be seen.
Right at this moment, Gui Wu's soul fragment emerged from the box, then cast a concerned gaze toward Weeping Soul as it urged in a sincere and heartfelt manner, "The entrance of this stone plaque closed over ten years ago. In all likelihood, your master has already perished in there, so why insist on staying here? Come with me to find the Six Paths Reincarnation Plate so you can recover your memories and uncover your true purpose!"
This was clearly not the first time that Weeping Soul had heard something like this from Gui Wu, and she didn't even bother to respond.
Right at this moment, a beam of golden light came crashing down from the heavens right beside Gui Wu, and the impact of its landing sent such powerful shockwaves sweeping through the air that Gui Wu's soul fragment was almost scattered on the spot.
Jin Tong emerged from the dust with a small, dark green beast in her grasp, and she took a hostile glance at Gui Wu, then asked, "He's trying to convince you to leave again, isn't he?"
Weeping Soul opened her eyes as she replied with a smile, "He says the same things every single time, it really is starting to get very repetitive."
"Your spiritual connection with him has already been severed, so why are you both still so convinced that he'll return?" Gui Wu wailed.
"Because he always comes back," Jin Tong replied in a confident manner.
"Master will be back for sure," Weeping Soul chimed in in agreement, then closed her eyes.
Jin Tong gave Gui Wu a menacing glare, then sat down onto a rock to play with the little beast that she had just captured.
Gui Wu could heave a forlorn sigh before returning to the Soul Locking Box.
Meanwhile, in the Yama Manor.
Han Li remained seated on the spot with his legs crossed, and all of the golden light emanating from his body had already faded, but his entire body was still radiating golden light from all of the immortal acupoints that he had opened, of which there were 1,319, indicating that he had already reached the pinnacle of the mid-Great Encompassment Stage.
"My last corpse soul severance was forced upon me, but this time, my corpse soul refuses to appear, even though I'm ready for it," Han Li sighed to himself as he opened his eyes.
The Celestial Time Array around him had already faded, leaving only his spirit domain behind.
He had already opened all of these immortal acupoints two years ago, but he had remained in seclusion in the hopes that he would be able to sever his second corpse soul as well.
However, on this occasion, his kind corpse soul wasn't displaying any signs of emergence.
I've already been cultivating for hundreds of thousands of years in the Celestial Time Array, which means that quite a long time must've passed by in the outside world as well. Jin Tong and Weeping Soul must be worried about me, and I'm not making any further progress here anyway, so it's about time that I left.
With his spirit domain completely elevated to the Oneness Tier, the time accelerating effects of the Celestial Time Array had been enhanced even further, to the extent that one year in the array was equivalent to thirty thousand years in the outside world.
With a sweep of his sleeve, his Five Elemental Illusory World reverted back into his five time law treasure manifestations, and there was a cumulative one thousand eight hundred time law threads wrapped around them.
For some reason, he was unable to attain any further time law threads beyond one thousand eight hundred.
Even so, he had benefited immensely from this stint of seclusion. Not only had he reached the pinnacle of the mid-Great Encompassment Stage, the number of time law threads in his possession had doubled. Furthermore, his understanding of time law powers had improved significantly, and he had also mastered several powerful abilities of the True Mantra Sect.
He wasn't able to reach the late-Great Encompassment Stage as Patriarch Miro had hoped, but this amount of progress was certainly nothing to scoff at.
With a casual sweep of his sleeve, he conjured up a vortex of golden light before stepping into it, and in the next instant, he emerged from the stone plaque on the island amid a flash of golden light.
Weeping Soul immediately opened her eyes, while Jin Tong tossed aside the little beast that she was playing with as she exclaimed in an ecstatic manner, "You've finally come out, Uncle!"
Gui Wu also emerged from the Soul Locking Box once again, and a hint of surprise flashed through his eyes as he said, "Congratulations on the significant strides you've made in your cultivation, Fellow Daoist Han."
"Weren't you just saying that Uncle must've already died in there?" Jin Tong asked with a disdainful expression.
Gui Wu's expression remained unchanged as he countered, "I said no such thing. You must've misheard."
"Sorry to keep you all waiting," Han Li said.
"Fellow Daoist Han, I've already brought you to this Yama Manor, so in return, it's about time that you took me to the Six Paths Reincarnation Plate," Gui Wu reminded.
"I'll be sure to fulfill my promise to you," Han Li replied.
An intrigued look appeared on Gui Wu's face as he asked, "May I ask what was in the Yama Manor, Fellow Daoist Han? There must've been some astounding opportunity waiting for you inside for you to have advanced so far in your cultivation base in such a short time."
Weeping Soul and Jin Tong began to carefully examine Han Li upon hearing this, but neither of them were able to see any change in him.
Han Li smiled as he dodged the question and said, "You're far too kind, Fellow Daoist Gui Wu. Let's set off for the Yellow Springs. Can I ask you to lead the way again?"
"Of course," Gui Wu repiled. "The Yellow Springs can be found where the Black River, Infernal, and Yama Regions meet. If we set off from here, we'll have to pass through most of the Yama Region, and on top of that, the Reincarnation King himself constantly cultivates near the Six Paths Reincarnation Plate, and his forces are also stationed near the Yellow Springs, so it won't be easy to get there," Gui Wu replied.
"How are we supposed to get there then? Given that the Reincarnation King is the ruler of three regions, his forces must be extremely formidable. How are we supposed to contend with that? And what is the Reincarnation King's current cultivation base?" Han Li asked with tightly furrowed brows.
"Back before I was sealed away, the Reincarnation King was already at the late-Great Encompassment Stage, so he's most likely already at the pinnacle of the Great Encompassment Stage now. However, I'm sure he still hasn't become a Dao Ancestor yet. Otherwise, I would've been sure to have sensed it," Gui Wu replied.
Han Li raised an eyebrow upon hearing this.
"If the Reincarnation King is at the pinnacle of the Great Encompassment Stage, then you're trying to send us to our deaths!" Weeping Soul accused.
"There's no need to be concerned. Once we reach the Yellow Springs, I have a way to sneak us in," Gui Wu reassured.
"How are you going to do that?" Jin Tong asked.
"It's too early to reveal that now. All will be revealed once we reach the Yellow Springs," Gui Wu said with a mysterious smile, and both Jin Tong and Weeping Soul's expressions instantly darkened upon hearing this.
"Now's not the time for jokes, Gui Wu. Tell us how you plan to get us to the Yellow Springs. Otherwise, if these two get angry, you know what consequences will await you," Han Li threatened.
"Alright," Gui Wu acquiesced. "The place where the Six Paths Reincarnation Plate is situated is one that concerns the cycle of reincarnation, and every once in a while, a Six Paths Gale will come blowing out of it. The Six Paths Gale is something that even Dao Ancestors don't dare to touch, so whenever this happens, the Reincarnation King and his forces will evacuate the Yellow Springs, thereby allowing us the opportunity to sneak in."
"If this Six Paths Gale is as formidable as you say, then how will we be able to get in there?" Han Li asked.
"During all of my time presiding over the Yama Region, I've conducted some research into the Six Paths Gale, and I know of some loopholes that we can exploit. It'll only give us a limited amount of time, but it'll be enough for us to make a round trip," Gui Wu replied with a confident smile.
What do you think?
