Chapter 259: Emperor III
They resurrected.
Not because they were immortal, but because the law stated they should be.
The Emperor moved like a storm of absolute declarations. With every gesture, he rewrote the battlefield:
Space became finite.
Will required permission.
Movement was taxed in existential burden.
Even Asher, with his 50% unleashed, found his body slowing under that divine pressure. His time manipulation sputtered. His scythe lagged half a heartbeat behind his intent.
And then—
The Emperor grasped the void itself.
He clenched his obsidian fist, and Asher's soul froze.
"The Edict of Stillness," the Emperor intoned. "No sovereign may resist."
Asher dropped to a knee. His vision blurred. His own body denied him. His lungs forgot how to breathe. His soul tried to un-become.
And in that moment of suffocating silence—
Valeris screamed.
Across the field of angels and phantoms, she cut her way toward him, her twin soulblades burning with Essence Bloom and Ecliptic Flame. Her soul-sigils cracked, flickering with every step—but she did not stop.
"Asher! Don't you dare fall!" she roared. "We're not finished yet!"
The scream cracked the stillness for a fraction of a second.
Enough.
Asher reached into himself—
—and ripped another Seal open.
The sound was like a god being flayed.
The seal shattered, not with power—but with revelation.
Asher didn't just increase. He transcended.
60%.
He stood.
And the universe recoiled.
His body pulsed—not with chaos, not with destruction—but with a strange, unnatural order of his own. Nihility had matured—become Disciplined Annihilation. A structured void. A thinking storm. His blood sang with patterned rebellion.
Twelve wings spread behind him—each one forged of alternate realities where he had become something else: tyrant, hero, corpse, beast, god. He fused them into one being.
His eyes glowed with Unyielding Intention, burning so fiercely that the Throned Fortress above them began to crack—not from assault, but from disbelief.
Asher opened his palm again.
The Black Star returned.
But now it beat like a heart.
This was no longer a singularity.
It was a seed.
"You define the universe," Asher said quietly. "But I define myself."
He launched forward.
Void Crowned Spiral Fang—a technique that didn't strike, but undermined destiny at its core.
The Emperor blocked—
And his arm shattered to the shoulder.
He staggered. His eyes, once blank, now twitched with something almost like uncertainty.
Asher followed up.
Abyssal Bloom Pulse—a flurry of strikes that aged the law's will itself.
Nihility Step: Black Phase Variant—a movement that let him exist between declarations, slipping between the Emperor's rewriting of reality.
Chrono-Rift Guillotine—a time-folded strike that not only hit from the future but forgot to miss.
The Emperor howled, slamming both palms together.
"Sovereign Absolute: Edict Collapse."
He shattered the battlefield and created a new one—a plane of Law Incarnate, where he could no longer be opposed by anything less than absolute contradiction.
But Asher smiled.
"I am contradiction."
Then his aura ignited.
Voidlight Flame Monarch Mode—a form he'd never used before, only possible with seven seals removed. His very existence became variable, rewriting itself every second, becoming new versions of strength with each breath. One moment he was soul, the next flesh, the next principle.
He attacked again—this time dragging entire alternate universes behind his strikes.
The Emperor met him blow for blow.
Law versus Rebellion.
Command versus Autonomy.
Foundation versus Fracture.
Each strike didn't just hit—it rewrote the heavens.
And then—
The Throned Fortress exploded.
Valeris had reached its core. She had sacrificed everything—sigils, soul threads, and even her sword—to destroy it from within. She appeared behind Asher, her body glowing with fractured light, hair streaming with spiritfire.
"No more distractions," she whispered. "End him."
The Emperor bled golden-black ichor. His body cracked with each breath. But still, he rose.
"Even gods… even you… will submit to the First Law."
Asher's eyes narrowed.
And then, in complete silence, he raised a single finger.
"fifth Seal open."
A stillness deeper than death.
The moment Asher spoke the words, the world halted.
Not paused.
Not slowed.
Ceased.
Space screamed as they flickered out of sequence. Sky dimmed. Gravity wept. Time fractured across a thousand miles like mirrors breaking underwater.
Valeris staggered, blinded by the surge of force beside her.
And the Emperor… stepped back.
Not in calculation.
Not in strategy.
But in dread.
"No…" he whispered, ancient and afraid. "That Seal was never meant to break. It was forged before the concept of kings… before thrones, before commandments…"
For the first time, the Forgotten Emperor looked mortal.
Asher hadn't changed form.
He hadn't sprouted wings.
He hadn't shifted into some divine beast.
He just stood there.
But space around him refused to hold shape. Concepts like gravity, sound, time—they bent near him, not from effort, but from sheer presence. The very idea of limitation had been unseated by his will.
This was the fifth seal-Unsealing 70% of his power but due to his abilities and his cheats his body was very much stronger at least ten times better than at any one at the same rank.
Each seal he'd broken before had let loose torrents of power, refining him, elevating him.
He spoke, and his voice didn't echo—it settled into the bones of reality.
"You tried to define me."
"But I was never defined to begin with."
He raised a hand—
And erased a law.
Just by existing.
The Emperor dropped to one knee.
The battlefield groaned. The plane of Law began to disintegrate, as if realizing it was no longer the authority in this domain.
Asher's voice returned—but not as sound.
It came as a thought injected into the bones of reality.
"You tried to define me."
"But I am the rejection of all definitions."
He moved—
And didn't.
He became his attack.
Nihility Apex Drive — a strike not launched, but experienced by the target.
Eclipse of Causality — where the target's reason for being hit was rewritten retroactively.
Infinite Collapse: Monarchless Crown — a conceptual dismantling of power itself, where sovereignty bent its knee to paradox.
The Emperor fought back, calling upon Origin Authority, invoking commandments forged when the multiverse was still dripping from the hand of its first god.
He brought down a blade made from the first word ever spoken.
He screamed the First Law:
"All things submit!"
But Asher did not block.
He did not dodge.
He simply denied.
"There is no 'all'. There is no 'submit'."
"There is only choice."
Emperor died as if if he never existed.
What do you think?
