Chapter 302 - 72: Duel to the Death and Unexpected Support
Xiao Buli performed a backward somersault to create some distance, then counterattacked with a Mysterious Ice Slash. The chilling crescent Sword Qi was still in midair when it was dispersed by a golden sword light. Zhang Biao wielded a double-edged greatsword in his hands, which appeared to be made from high carbon steel crafted in the real world. Despite this, due to the material’s heft and significant weight, along with some added energy, its power was considerable. A glint of gold flashed on the blade as it scattered the Mysterious Ice Sword Qi, then he advanced, rolling forward like a bulldozer.
The sword wind howled. Zhang Biao, undeniably a mighty warrior of his generation, utilized the Whirlwind Slash technique in this strike, chopping horizontally with overpowering momentum,
Xiao Buli casually raised his sword to block, but a Giant Strength transmitted through his hand, nearly wrenching the Blade of Lament from his grasp.
He hastily executed a Shadow Clone to dodge. Zhang Biao didn’t rush his attack, as two more people followed behind him, charging in. One was the female assassin Dian Lan, dressed in a tight-fitting black leather suit, brandishing two daggers that gleamed with cold light in reverse grip. The other, if not Yan Zhong, who else could it be? He did not wield any weapons, but as a Mage Profession, he was extremely dangerous barehanded. Xiao Buli understood this all too well.

"Long time no see, Mr. Xiao Buli." A trace of murderous intent flickered in Yan Zhong’s eyes, "Dugu Han sends his regards." @@novelbin@@
Dugu Han, Xiao Buli thought, hadn’t Dugu Han already died? Could someone have resurrected him using Merit Points? No, that can’t be right, that should only be possible within the game.
"I am quite puzzled by that," said Xiao Buli, glancing at the window. Of the five people, only three had shown themselves; the remaining two were likely lying in ambush outside. The moment he stepped out, he would probably be ambushed. However, that didn’t matter. Once outside, he just needed to use Cloud Thunder Leap to make his escape. They wouldn’t be able to touch him.
Yan Zhong didn’t seem to notice the change in his gaze and said indifferently, "Regrettably, in fact, Dugu Han has not died, he is still alive."
Xiao Buli was taken aback. He noticed that Yan Zhong said Dugu Han hadn’t died, not that Dugu Han had been resurrected. On one hand, he wanted to get to the bottom of this, while on the other, he aimed to stall for time. Pretending to be shocked, he asked, "How is that possible? We chopped him into seventeen or eighteen pieces. How could he still be alive?"
Chopped into seventeen or eighteen pieces? Upon hearing this, Yan Zhong also couldn’t help but wonder. If that were true, then there would be no way to resurrect him. Could there be some secret to this? Or was it that the organization had now obtained the ability to resurrect in real life?
As he pondered this, Zhang Biao bellowed, "What’s the point of wasting so much talk with him? Just kill him and it’s all done."
After roaring, a bronze glow emerged from his body, as if a Vajra descended from heaven, he charged again.
Xiao Buli dared not underestimate his opponent and swiftly employed his Tai Chi Sword Skills to defend against the attack. The essence of Tai Chi Sword Skills was to counteract force with softness. As their swords clashed, Xiao Buli effortlessly deflected, redirecting most of the attack’s force to the side. The greatsword hacked down, cleaving the computer desk beside them in two.
"Interesting!" Zhang Biao laughed heartily, while his greatsword slashed repeatedly. Xiao Buli could barely parry from left to right. Although his swordsmanship had improved recently, his opponent was a senior combatant specializing in close combat and possessed strength even slightly greater than Li Jian’s before.
Forced into a corner, Xiao Buli considered his options for counterattack when suddenly a silvery laugh rang from behind. The laugh was crisp yet cold, carrying a slight chill. Xiao Buli felt a jolt at his back as he took a Backstab, but it was blocked by a Spiritual Energy Shield. Given that the dagger’s material was ordinary, the Backstab merely managed to break through the shield, but this still alarmed Xiao Buli.
Turning around, he executed a Chain Sword Strike, swishing three consecutive slices to his sides, but hit nothing. Dian Lan seemed like a phantom or a ghost, her figure completely elusive.
"Too slow," the cold voice sounded once again from behind. Pain struck his back as he received another Backstab; this time, there was no Spiritual Energy Shield to fend off the blade. However, the dagger did not penetrate. The blade, having been bought online, merely scratched slightly into the Dragon Scale armor’s gap and was blocked by the black Dragon Scale armor’s inner layer.
This strike, however, shocked Xiao Buli to the core. Fortunate to have worn armor, otherwise, that blow could have cost him half his life. Real life didn’t have health points, and a hit to a vital area probably meant instant death regardless of how high one’s health points were.
As Dian Lan disappeared from sight again and Zhang Biao pressed the attack, along with Yan Zhong’s looming threat, Xiao Buli didn’t dare linger in battle. He suddenly unleashed his Freezing Cloud Skills within the room, and as the chilling fog obscured the vision, he lunged toward the position of the window he remembered.
With a crash, Xiao Buli smashed through the window and leaped out, falling from dozens of meters in the air outside the window. He began plummeting downward.
Xiao Buli, of course, wouldn’t just fall like that. Although he knew some Qinggong, a fall of dozens of meters could still be deadly, so before he hit the ground, he had already unleashed his trump card—the Cloud-Thundering Sky Flash!
What do you think?
