Chapter 387 - 24 Super Pet_2
Characters spoken from the mouth of a giant python are indeed extremely strange, and perhaps because the python’s vocal system is not suited for human language, the voice sounded both bizarre and awkward.
Yi Xuan typed from the side, asking, "What’s it saying?"
Xiao Buli turned his head and made a random guess, "Snake language." His tone was flat, as if this were a perfectly normal occurrence.
Yi Xuan was surprised, having not expected Xiao Buli to understand snake language, which explained why he was listening so intently.
But Xiao Buli had his own thoughts, having originally no intention of taming the python due to the vast difference in strength. According to his initial plan, managing to hold off the python long enough to escape would have been quite an achievement. But now, with such a great opportunity presented before him by chance, he was hesitant to just take the python in. Would that not make Yi Xuan think less of him? However, if he was actually able to communicate with it and it truly submitted to him, then that would be a testament to his own capabilities, and no one would have the right to feel aggrieved. So he simply chalked it up to having spoken in snake language, which Yi Xuan anyway couldn’t understand clearly through the earpiece, given the strange sound of the snake’s voice.
Xiao Buli moved a few steps closer to the snake’s head, wary of a sudden attack, hence he was prepared to flee at any moment with Cloud Thunder Leap.
Seeing Xiao Buli’s movements, Yi Xuan typed hastily, "Xiao, be careful." Xiao Buli didn’t dare to turn back and waved at Yi Xuan, indicating for him to stay where he was.
Xiao Buli took the risk of approaching the python because it was incredibly powerful, far surpassing any pet he had tamed before; thus, he was somewhat unsure about sealing it directly. He hoped to make the pet submit willingly, as that would increase the success rate.
Therefore, he walked close to the snake’s head and said in a low voice, "If you want to live, there is only one way, become my pet. Not only will you not die, but I can also heal the wounds on your body." Xiao Buli’s eyes were fixed on the python’s two yellow eyes, uttering these sentences with a tone that was both threatening and alluring, leaving no way out for the python. Perhaps due to its energy being depleted, only its last pair of eyes remained barely open, its pupils contracting to a line, giving it a sinister and crafty look.
After hearing Xiao Buli, the python seemed to ponder for a moment, then made a whimpering sound with its mouth. With the experience gained previously, Xiao Buli quickly understood, "Pet... not possible... Treasure... exchange."
Treasure? Xiao Buli found this rather interesting.
"What treasure? Tell me about it," Xiao Buli moved a bit closer.

The python opened its mouth wide, and Xiao Buli heard a gurgling sound from its throat as it spit out a red, football-sized bead that glowed red. The python nudged the bead toward Xiao Buli with the little strength it had left, seemingly wanting him to take it.
Xiao Buli observed the bead’s dazzling red light and overflowing brilliance, which was truly eye-catching. He was about to step forward to take it when he suddenly stopped. This seemed too good to be true, which made it all the more suspicious. What was this bead, and why was it inside the snake?
From his experience, Xiao Buli recalled that objects like this were usually the demon creature’s inner core or, judging by its abilities, some fire-based Magical Treasure. Either way, both options were as vital as life to the python; it seemed unlikely it would give either away so readily, and considering how unhesitatingly it spat out the Treasure Bead, Buli couldn’t help but feel dubious.
Seeing Xiao Buli halt his forward movement, the python became anxious. It opened its mouth wide and uttered, "Treasure... treasure... powerful... good..."
The python’s tone made Xiao Buli even more vigilant. For some reason, he suddenly remembered a game he had played where one task was to collect four treasure beads. The first three were surprisingly easy to obtain, but when he went to pick up the fourth one after defeating the task’s boss—who handed over the bead with seemingly great remorse—Xiao Buli was overjoyed. However, to his shock, the bead exploded as he reached for it, nearly killing him. The boss’s desperate behavior at that moment reminded him eerily of the current python.
Therefore, he wasn’t in a rush to pick it up and instead said thoughtfully, "Is this the ’treasure’ you spoke of? I’m after what’s inside your belly; killing you would be easy. Seeing how quickly you spat out one bead, maybe your stomach is full of them, yellows and greens enough to make a dozen, perhaps. If you’re not willing to become my pet, I might just have to take action."
After Xiao Buli spoke, he pretended to be ready to attack. The giant python, in its eagerness, nudged the bead hard, rolling it quickly towards Xiao Buli. The bead’s fast momentum signified its desperation. Xiao Buli thought to himself that there must indeed be something fishy. He dodged the bead’s path with a Shadow Clone, and even Yi Xuan stayed well clear. The rolling red bead heated up increasingly, scorching the earth it passed over, leaving behind a path of flames. Unfortunately for the python, it was at the end of its strength, and the bead slowed down, eventually stopping and bursting into a puddle of red magma. The ground covered in magma corroded noisily, and a large hole was burned through the volcanic rock, evidencing its potency. Such a waste, Buli thought, to expend it in vain.
