Chapter 1485: Great Harvest
Chapter 1485: Great Harvest
Boundless amounts of light poured across the mountain range like a flood. The cold air was swept away and even the blizzard that had once raged vanished.
The entire area was filled with sacred light energy that gave everyone an inexplicable sense of purity.
Light resonant power had the strongest purification effects after all.
Outside the mountainous region were countless serious gazes closely watching the fading light. The first thing they saw was Jiang Qing'e's slim figure with her heavy sword in hand.
She was standing atop a mountain that had been severed in half, the cold wind pushing her robes against her body and outlining her stunning silhouette. Her absolutely beautiful features emanated a soul-stirring sense of sacredness. Her eyebrows were like willow leaves as she effused a heroic presence. Some women, much less all the men, couldn't help but feel their hearts beating wildly in their chests as they blushed.
Not far away from Jiang Qing'e was Chi Li.
Unfortunately, the latter was stiff, his eyes dark. Before him, the Cosmic Star Seal had fallen to the ground and tiny cracks were seen on it.
His middle-grade Mythic Armament was considered to be at the peak amongst those of the same grade, and it had been damaged in the previous clash.
Chi Li spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, which sizzled into a white mist and evaporated completely moments after hitting the ground. Jiang Qing'e had used an all-out strike that penetrated Chi Li's defenses. The remnant energy had infiltrated his body, leaving him with great injuries.
Her tyrannical and sacred light resonant power was entrenched within his body, so his resonant power circulation had become much more sluggish.
The only thing worth celebrating was that this wasn't a fight to the death. Otherwise, another blow from her would have reaped his life.
With this feeling of fortunate joy, Chi Li hoarsely shouted out, "You've won, I surrender."
Although he was dissatisfied, there was nothing else he could do.
This result was completely out of his expectations. Their original plan was to have Lu Ruyan hold Jiang Qing'e down, considering her robust foundation and numerous means. Although the latter was extraordinary, Lu Ruyan should have been able to hold her back.
Meanwhile, Li Luo would be left for him to handle, and he was reasonably confident he could beat him. However, Li Luo had actually used a single grand move to mow down Lu Ruyan.
Although he was now spent, he had also taken away Chi Li's chance at victory. Now the underdog had to defeat Jiang Qing'e.
The only thing that could have been said was that things were set in stone the moment Lu Ruyan was eliminated.
Chi Li's expression was extremely gloomy. They had lost not because of Jiang Qing'e, but due to Li Luo's single move that upended the situation. Who could have imagined it to be so terrifying?
That brat had just broken into the upper Second Transcendent Duke Stage, yet his attacking power was not at all inferior to Jiang Qing'e's! Furthermore, if Chi Li couldn't beat him here, there would be even less of a chance in the future.
His goal in bringing Chi Chan back would also fail.
Dong!
A resounding bell chime rang out through the world, then the Academic Federation's administrator loudly proclaimed, "The first round of the Sand Seizing Battle concludes with Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e as the victors!"
This announcement immediately caused heaven-shaking cheers to resound throughout the viewing platforms. Looks of envy, shock, and fear were directed towards the duo.
This gigantic gamble with one hundred and forty grains of Celestial Mirror Sand was won by them.
Even the eighth-grade Dukes were salivating over these tremendous rewards.
Furthermore, the celebratory cheers coming from the East Divine Continent had no equal.
Guo Jiufeng, Wang Xu, Chen Chi, and the rest of the vice principals were absolutely elated. The normal mentors couldn't help but to shout till their faces were red.
No one was able to restrain their emotions.
Yet there was no one who laughed at them for their wild behavior. Instead, Fang Xingyun, Shui Baoping, and the rest had faces full of envy. They knew that the sage colleges of the East Divine Continent had profited greatly from Li Luo's gamble.
"Ah, I had never expected that the Astral Sage College, a college that seems like it's about to from the ranks of sage colleges, would have produced two exceptional prodigies like them. When we return, we have to reprimand the brats in our college. Li Luo is barely older than them, yet I can barely even compare to him," Fang Xingyun said with a sigh. The other vice principals nodded in agreement, sighing as well.
Although they envied the East Divine Continent's rewards, they similarly felt joyous at Li Luo's victory. No matter how things were, Li Luo was a representative of the outer divine continents and had dampened the arrogance of the inner divine continent sage colleges.
While the atmosphere outside was boiling over, amongst the ruined remnants of the mountain range, Jiang Qing'e sheathed her sword. There was no need to bother with Chi Li any longer, so she quickly made her way over to Li Luo.
Li Luo was sitting cross-legged, recovering his resonant power. He lifted his head to see a girl bathed in light, looking like a goddess that none would dare blaspheme.
However, when her gaze met his, he could sense the warmth and happiness in her deep, golden eyes.
"Very cool." Li Luo flashed her a thumbs up. Jiang Qing'e's single strike was reminiscent of the power of the heavens, capable of instilling fear in her enemies.
Jiang Qing'e's lips curled up slightly "It was a little lackluster when compared to your attack."
He modestly replied, "That was just my last-ditch all-out attack. If it had failed, I'd just be waiting to be eliminated."
She smiled as she stretched her slender and fair palm towards him.
When Li Luo looked at that perfect hand that was seemingly carved out of jade with bright light flowing around it, he felt an urge to tease her. However, he suppressed these thoughts and raised his hand to grab hold of hers. The supple and icy sensation caused Li Luo to use a little more force.
Jiang Qing'e then lifted him up, andthe two’s fingers interlaced.
Countless envious gazes from the viewing platform were watching the two of them. @@novelbin@@
From afar, Lu Qing'er's icy lake-like blue eyes also took in this sight, rippling slightly before returning to their usual calm. However, Li Hongyou, who was beside her, could sense that the cold air emanating from her body had become more suffocating.
As the Sand Seizing Battle had concluded, a ball of light descended from the skies, floating before the couple. Within it were the grains of Celestial Mirror Sand. They resembled twinkling stars that exuded majestic and pure energy undulations, causing the energy within the area to condense into a dense fog.
Wang Xuanjin's clear laughter rang out from his lotus throne in the sky above. "Li Luo, Jiang Qing'e, there are one hundred and forty grains of Celestial Mirror Sand inside. Congratulations."
Li Luo's gaze was feverish now that the prize was finally in his hands.
Winning so much Celestial Mirror Sand meant that he could try borrowing the ancient lamp's power to make a breakthrough. He stored away the Celestial Mirror Sand before respectfully clasping his hands towards the three Kings with Jiang Qing'e.
The two then left the ravaged mountain range before everyone's eyes.
As they left, Wang Xuanjin waved his hand and worldly natural energy surged. To everyone's shock, the ruins were completely restored into a pristine and unblemished mountain range once again. In just a short span of time, everything was back to normal. This caused everyone to sigh. Was this the power of a King? They were capable of moving mountains and rivers with just a simple gesture. This sort of power was something incomprehensible to those at the Duke Stage.
After restoring the battlefield to its original state, Wang Xuanjin slowly announced, "The next battle will now begin."
Li Luo wasn't particularly interested in the upcoming Sand Seizing Battles. The only thing on his mind was to swiftly return the Celestial Mirror Sand he owed so he could seclude himself and reach the Third Transcendent Duke Stage.
What do you think?
