Chapter 140: 084 Particle Transmission [Available at 0:00] _2
Lyu, “I suggest you skip the meal and fast forward to the hotel king-size bed.”
“Screw you, what do you know about love?”
…
Almost simultaneously.
The business conference filled with spotlight and journalist photographers.
Edwan, just finished with his conference schedule, smiled as he warmly shook hands with two leading executives from other countries and shared a light embrace, leaving behind what was not a particularly precious group photo.
As Edwan extricated himself from the enthusiastic crowd of businessmen, an aide immediately stepped forward to report.
“Mr. Ming has already left the Imperial Palace. They talked all afternoon. It is said the Emperor likes this captain a lot and praised him in front of Princess Dana for quite some time.”
“Phew, that’s good,” Edwan let out a small sigh of relief. “I was really worried he’d say something to offend Father, especially since he was supposed to be on duty at the Palace but was with me instead, which isn’t quite appropriate.”
The aide chuckled, “Please rest assured, Your Highness. It’s no secret that Mr. Ming is your number one confidant.”
“I don’t like the term ‘number one confidant.’ I’m more like friends with this guy.”
Edwan laughed as he asked, “Did the item we arranged with the Sherman Mission arrive today?”
“It has arrived,” the aide pulled out a tablet and displayed a picture.
The backdrop of the image was in a warehouse resembling a transport ship’s cargo hold, with a six-meter-tall silhouette wrapped tightly in camouflage cloth covering a massive humanoid structure.
Edwan chuckled, “Do you think Ming will like this gift?”
The aide replied gloomily, “Your Highness, I’ve clearly been with you a little longer, yet now all you see is this guy.”
“Hey! Get back to work! Don’t say things that make people think I’m gay!”
Edwan scolded with a glaring eye.
The loyal aide shrugged dejectedly and turned to leave.
…
Yang Ming originally intended to head directly to meet Miss Windsor, who had already arrived at the restaurant, but Lyu brought in some critical intelligence.
This forced him to slow down the car, taking a half-circle detour towards the seaside, ostensibly to avoid traffic, but in fact to buy time.
A few minutes earlier, Lyu had locked onto a senior New Federation agent.
This was a curvaceous woman with light brown skin, presumably a subordinate of Lulian, who had just appeared in the Third Prince’s exterior palace, entering the Third Prince’s ‘secret’ study.
Lyu had been waiting for her appearance for quite a while.
The reason why Lyu had been unable to track down more traces of the New Federation agents was due to the lack of an anchor point.
Now, the anchor point finally appeared.
Lyu had started searching through data, pinpointing this woman’s trajectory amidst the sea of people, stripping away all the individuals she had been in contact with, searching for other New Federation agents among them.
In just a few minutes, Lyu had locked onto dozens of individuals, all seasoned spies concealing themselves extremely well.
Under Yang Ming’s command, Lyu concurrently sent this data to the intelligence network under the Second Prince, and a fierce covert war was inevitable.
On the console of the ‘Beast,’ a video was playing, showcasing the intimate interaction between the Third Prince and that woman.
They sat together with the Third Prince’s hand wandering inappropriately, and their conversation became somewhat difficult to eavesdrop on.
“Can you hear what they’re talking about?”
Yang Ming grew increasingly curious.
Lyu hummed softly, “Based on lip reading analysis, they seem to have mentioned something about a gift… Her commander should be Lulian, is he going to give the Third Prince a present?”
“A gift? The throne?”
Yang Ming murmured with a frown.
Lyu didn’t respond. She was focused on scouring the activities and schemes of the New Federation agents with full processing power.
In Lyu’s consciousness space.
The girl wearing a beret was meticulously operating hundreds of projection screens in front of her, her eyes darting back and forth, her hands moving quickly like fleeting shadows.
Person after person was marked out by her.
“Uh-huh?”
Lyu quickly identified a small team of agents whose movements repeatedly coincided with the boss’s coordinates, repeatedly appearing near the boss’s chemical plant.
Were they surveilling the boss?
The Third Prince’s secret chamber.
The female agent whispered something softly to the Third Prince, retrieving a small makeup box from her chest, unfolding a mini projection screen.
The screen displayed the ring highway to the northwest of Ilando City; the equipment used appeared to be a high-powered telescope, with a slightly shaky image, but the red dot centered on… that flamboyantly designed floating car…
Beast!
Lyu immediately alerted Yang Ming, mobilizing all surveillance near the Beast to pinpoint the direction of the recording.
A hotel window!
Almost at the same moment, a burst of firelight appeared in the window!
“Missile attack!”
Lyu’s voice blared through the car speakers!
Before Yang Ming could react, the steering wheel suddenly veered hard to the left.
A red popup suddenly sprang up in front of Yang Ming. A thin film materialized around the armored floating vehicle Beast; the vehicle’s engine power surged to maximum, racing past the traffic ahead, darting out of the regular driving lane.
This was Lyu’s first instant response.
Harnessing the city’s complex terrain, she aimed to shake off the incoming missile.
Yang Ming’s eyelids twitched as he turned his head to see a deep-red flash from the window of a distant building, a slender ‘metal tube’ trailed with flames, hurtling towards the Beast at high speed!
A man-portable anti-mechanical missile!
This floating car, originally belonging to the Second Prince, was equipped with an energy protective shield able to withstand lightweight ray-type weapons; anti-mechanical missiles were the nemesis of such armored vehicles!
Lyu’s voice remained icy, “Two thousand two hundred meters, one thousand nine hundred meters, unable to determine warhead type, recommend particle transmission.”
Yang Ming’s eyes flickered slightly as he suddenly gripped the square helm and pulled up fiercely.
The Beast let out a series of roars, accelerating upward at full speed.
“Release all engine constraints!”
Lyu, “Altitude alone won’t shake off the missile.”
“Enter the clouds!” Yang Ming shouted determinedly, “Increase the probability of particle transmission going undetected! Move it!”
“Constraints lifted.”
Yang Ming floored the throttle, and a sonic boom erupted from the Beast’s exterior, its engine on the brink of exploding.
Who knew how many people looked up at the vehicle suddenly soaring into the sky, spotting the missile in hot pursuit behind the floating car.
The missile was continually closing the distance.
The Beast maintained its acceleration, the vehicle’s own structure on the verge of disintegration!
The clouds were right above!
“Lyu, maintain full speed.”
Yang Ming’s hands left the square helm, diving towards the passenger seat.
The clouds loomed ahead.
“Eight seconds to impact! Six, five…”
“Eject the main seat!”
“Main seat ejected.”
Bang!
The vehicle’s top detached instantly, the main driver’s seat soared into the low rain clouds of the sky along with the floating car.
“Three…”
“Particle transmission starting.”
The missile pierced through the trunk!
A beam of intense light shot through the clouds!
Boom!
A massive fireball erupted outward, a brutal shockwave dispersed the clouds, and a giant mushroom cloud rose high above.
“Transmission complete.”
“The Feinan’s cloak disengages from low-Earth orbit.”
“Welcome back, Captain.”
What do you think?
