Chapter 172 - 172 100 Resurrection_3
Chapter 172: 100 Resurrection_3 Chapter 172: 100 Resurrection_3 He needed time.
At least a year or two to have Lyu come up with some “technology patents” and to complete a minor upgrade of military technology for Wind while establishing a commercial landscape there.
Being backward meant getting beaten, an eternal truth.
Ding!
A crisp sound echoed in the empty floor.
Viscount Yang Ming clinked glasses with Prince Edwan, who continued fumbling with the barbecue tongs in front of him.
This unhealthy and primitive method of roasting food through material combustion at unstable temperatures was a novelty to Edwan.
Yang Ming turned his head to glance at the distant corner, where Kolev was video chatting with an elegant elderly lady.
This old man, considered a paragon of businessmen, had secured a baron’s title without spending any money, which made Yang Ming feel a bit indignant.
His own viscountcy had been earned through blood and sweat!
Kolev was always just socializing!
“Ming, any ideas? I still want to retaliate against the New Federation,” Edwan asked eagerly,
“You were right, this country was already on the brink of collapse, and since the terrorist attacks didn’t bring us down, our situation won’t be worse than before the attacks.
“On the contrary, although many of the rich have fled, the unity of the people and their national identity have greatly improved.
“I am now full of confidence in the future.”
Yang Ming looked out at the floor-to-ceiling window.
Outside, the bustling city seemed free of scars and pain.
“I can only give you a general suggestion,” Yang Ming smiled, “Rather than spreading your efforts too thin, making the New Federation Empire only itch slightly, it would be better to focus like a fist and hit the New Federation hard in one industry.”
Edwan raised an eyebrow.
“However, Edwan,” Yang Ming said, putting down his glass, “The strength of the New Federation is based on millennia of development; you’d better hold back a bit.”
“Ming, have you read ‘Emperor’s Biography’? The legendary tale of Levi Sherman.”
“Uh-huh, I’ve learned a little.”
Edwan smiled, “It’s called a miracle. Just tens of thousands of years ago, the technological development level was similar to now, and so was the political structure. Levi Sherman rapidly rose to power on a planet, became the ruler of several stars within a few years through massive technological innovations, and within a decade became a hegemon, creating the Emperor Star miracle that no one has broken even now. It’s because of this great founding Emperor that the Sherman Empire once had a strong influence on the technological development of the entire Milky Way.”
Yang Ming smiled slightly.
His “predecessor” was truly formidable.
“Edwan, has the military matter been settled?”
“You are soon going to become a captain under Gudun Mah,” Edwan laughed, “stationed near Ilando Star.”
“That’s good,” Yang Ming said, “Later, I’ll figure out how to eliminate a top military official to help Gudun Mah control another fleet, remove the deputy title from Gudun Mah, and make him the chief of the general staff.”
Edwan frowned and complained, “You can’t just say such shady things about power manipulation directly to the Second Prince of this country; he doesn’t want to hear about those.”
“All right, then I’ll do it myself.”
“Hey!” Edwan glared at Yang Ming, “At least give me a heads-up first!”
Yang Ming smiled without speaking.
They clinked glasses gently again.
Edwan couldn’t help but mutter,
“Recently, a group named Molly Miss suddenly emerged, with an amazingly keen sense; they’ve acquired a large amount of superior assets at low prices over the past month, successfully outmaneuvering me several times.
“After acquiring companies, they didn’t lay off employees or relocate capital offshore, but worked hard to maintain production and received unanimous praise from local governments.
“This probably shows they have a long-term plan; if they seize the opportunity to develop into a manufacturing monopoly in our country, it will become a troublesome issue.”
Yang Ming shifted his weight a bit, feeling a bit guilty.
Even though he wanted to coolly declare,
“Reintroducing myself, I’m the actual controller of Molly Miss.”
But Edwan was most concerned about the economy. Yang Ming had already established influence in the military, and expanding into the economic field could easily make Edwan feel pressured.
“I just want to make money to buy resources to support my Dark Star.”
Yang Ming murmured in his heart and continued chatting and laughing with Edwan.
Outside, the city’s lights seemed no longer so distant, as the long night appeared to have become history.
Yang Ming decided that when he found the time, he would read that “Emperor’s Biography” and study the brilliant deeds of the previous achievers, to understand what the so-called Emperor Star miracle was.
The starry sky was clear and brilliant outside the window.
The Time Book turned over a thin page forward.
What do you think?
