Chapter 42: 030 Liabilities, but became the captain
Several minutes later.
Yang Ming had closed the metallic door behind him with Mimili on the other side, slightly disheveled. @@novelbin@@
He suddenly doubted life.
Mimili was an advocate of asexual relationships, promoting the use of empathic devices for direct neuron-to-neuron communication… well, that was her freedom.
What else could Yang Ming do? Aside from showing understanding and offering encouragement—as a senior would gently encourage her to stay true to herself and try to appear avant-garde and fashionable.
A ray formed nearby, intertwining to project Molly’s image, who was chuckling nonstop.
...
“You knew all along?” Yang Ming glared at Molly.
“Yes, Master Hanton,” Molly pushed her glasses up. “Master Mimili is very fond of cutting-edge science, but she’s a bit obsessed. Perhaps you can use your masculine charm to change her preferences, Molly believes.”
“Give it a rest, Molly, people’s preferences should be respected.”
Yang Ming clasped his hands behind his head and walked towards his room.
Molly immediately followed him.
Due to the limited placement of the projection devices, her image sometimes blurred, sometimes brightened.
“Master Hanton, are you sure you don’t want to try seducing Mimili? She’s a young girl and already has specific hormonal responses towards you. According to my understanding, if you can pique her interest, romance her, and be dominant enough, she’ll most likely obey you in the end.”
“Molly, you used the word ‘obey’.”
Yang Ming turned around and stared at Molly.
Molly said, “The weak obey the strong; this is a basic principle I’ve observed in human society.”
“Then your observation is limited and not detailed,” Yang Ming explained earnestly, “Friends and lovers should respect each other; it’s enemies and subordinates that require conquest.”
Molly asked, “Is this a display of hypocrisy?”
“Why would it be hypocrisy?”
“Conquest brings pleasure, it allows your brain to secrete more dopamine, this is what Master Kolev told me.”
Yang Ming laughed, “Then can you understand what friendship, duty, sacrifice are? If you look from a purely biological standpoint, why would parents tolerate the fuss of a three- or four-year-old child, whose specific child-related hormones have already dissipated, and still protect and help them?”
Molly pondered, “Perhaps I need more observation and thought.”
“Yes, Molly,” Yang Ming smiled, “you haven’t been to the outside world; human society is immensely complex. When enough individuals come together, they create a network, and when each individual is complex, that network can create an amount of information in a second that could overload your hard drive.”
Molly was silent for a few seconds.
She said, “Alright, I won’t do anything beyond my abilities; I’m just a nagging intelligent housekeeper… The old master is waiting for you in the hangar; he already knows about you two sharing a room.”
Yang Ming cursed, “You little traitor.”
“Kolev is my first master, you are the third master; in Molly’s view, there’s a difference in the priority of your commands.”
Molly emphasized:
“This isn’t betrayal; it’s a difference in priority.”
Yang Ming calmly turned towards the hangar direction, his mind still somewhat troubled.
Ah, this Mimili who troubles uncle.
…
In Mimili’s room.
She held her forehead with her hand, staring blankly at the two helmets.
“Ah, it seems I messed up… It looks like he doesn’t quite accept this method.”
Mimili muttered quietly, “But everyone has their freedom, what’s wrong with that?”
She lay down on the couch, gazing at the pieces of still warm cake, then sighed dejectedly, lying still for a long time.
Like a beautiful salted fish that had lost its dreams.
…
In a corner of the hangar, Yang Ming watched the front of the vise-shaped warship, which looked more like a colossal object than a light vessel as defined in military terms.
“What were you discussing just now?”
Kolev came over to him, whispering.
“Just some minor things.”
Yang Ming looked guiltily at Kolev.
Kolev fiddled with some electronic parts in his hands, sighing:
“Actually she has her own freedom, I really shouldn’t interfere. But you know, Hanton, she’s my only relative; I always end up overly protecting her.”
“Nothing happened,” Yang Ming explained, “and you should really pay attention to her mental health.”
“No need to comfort this old geezer anymore, if I were a young woman, I’d have a crush on you too,” Kolev’s smile was tinged with bitterness.
Yang Ming felt somewhat powerless to retort, simply nodding in agreement.
Does Star Widow need his care and love?
Yang Ming thought that if things continued this way, he was more likely to be the one living off her in the future.
Mimili had already demonstrated impressive strategic insight and leadership in warfare.
“Let’s discuss serious matters,” Yang Ming said, “tell me about your revenge plan, it’s almost three months now.”
Kolev’s expression became solemn, “I plan to establish contact with a close confidant; he was second only to Kimo in Guka’s standing within the pirate group, and also harbored lofty ambitions.”
“Then what?”
Yang Ming frowned, “I don’t have much trust in this Guka, beyond these pirates here who can’t contact the outside world; I don’t trust anyone in your Black Dragon Group.”
“I don’t trust him either,” Kolev said, “nor any of them now, but that doesn’t hinder our plotting. There’s something you need to understand, Black Dragon is also my creation, my hope is to keep the ship if at all possible.”
What do you think?
