Chapter 58: Step 039 The last step of the plan

Kolev would never know what went through Yang Ming’s mind when he faced the Dreadnought high above.
But Yang Ming could easily tell just how flustered the old man by his side was right now.
The old man’s mouth just kept blabbering on and on, madly spouting the chaotic thoughts that were sprouting in his heart.
“Oh, poor Hanton, we can’t escape! It’s a Dreadnought, an Imperial Dreadnought, the second most powerful type of ship. It can even blast this planet to pieces; they really might do that.”
“No, no, no, that’s not right, an elephant doesn’t notice the ants at its feet, they won’t find us, right?”
“To think of my life, if I were to die under the guns of an Imperial Dreadnought, that too would be an honor.”
“… Yet I still couldn’t see the day my daughter got married and had a bunch of little pirates.”@@novelbin@@
“Hanton, I can’t die like this, I still have so much money left to spend, I…”
Yang Ming silently shut down the life support system and pulled out a canister of emergency oxygen from underneath the seat. Then he pressed the oxygen canister’s mouthpiece, hard, precisely, and without mercy, onto Kolev’s mouth.
Why could this old man be so noisy!
Yang Ming muttered in a low voice, “Quiet! If this Dreadnought wants to fire at us, I will step forward and say I’m the test subject they’re looking for! The option of soaking in a jar and eating excrement is definitely before getting blown to smithereens!”
Kolev blinked, “Does your Empire accept donations for military funding?”
Yang Ming: …
He continued to lie prone in the front seat, closing his eyes, taking several deep breaths.
Powerful individuals were nothing in the face of mighty forces.
He, a Subordinate Ancient God Life Form that had yet to fully mature—even if he could eventually develop fully, would still feel so powerless before the mighty Imperial warships.
Strong forces, overwhelming individual strength, these were the directions he needed to strive for.
He must manage both!
Of course, all this was predicated on the assumption that they could escape this time.
“Han, Hanton!”
Kolev pulled down the oxygen mask and shouted, “They’re gone!”
Yang Ming suddenly looked up.
The Imperial Dreadnought slowly moved towards deep space.
In the distant starry sky, six or seven various Imperial warships appeared, forming a battle fleet with the Dreadnought, moving together to a region where stable warp jumps could be made.
To form a real combat force, a Dreadnought needed to be accompanied by Escort Ships, Destroyers, Supply Ships, and so on.
The Dreadnought was apparently the first to force a warp jump to Olhaif Planet.
The most likely scenario was that the Empire had received precise coordinates of the Dawn-level Battleship, pointing their gun barrels directly at the face of the Dawn-level Light Battlecruiser.
The intelligence systems of various nations infiltrated each other; Lina had been defeated by her own intelligence organization backing her!
Yang Ming finally laughed.
This was so typical of the Empire.
The imperial fleet disappeared off the Stealth Boat’s radar edge.
The voice of Molly No. 2 sounded, “Captain, a warp event detected, the imperial fleet has left.”
“Start up! Start up quickly!”
Yang Ming growled as the Stealth Boat’s engines expelled a ring of blue light, sharply piercing the clouds at nearly a ninety-degree angle to the ground!
“Molly No. 2 is coming to pick us up!”
“Roger that, Captain.”
Yang Ming’s voice gradually calmed down, “Prepare the warp energy in advance, activate the coating machine and the polarimeter, and open the rear hatch.”
The now-peaceful Kolev cursed vehemently, “Speed up, speed up! Run faster! I don’t want to spend another moment here!”
…
Feinan completed two warp jumps in a short time and hid the ship behind a small asteroid.
Yang Ming sat, collapsed with a head full of cold sweat, staring blankly as he silently pulled out the syringe next to the seat, injecting a vial of Genetic Stabilization Liquid into the veins of his arm.
Kolev, on the other hand, suddenly laughed, gasping for breath.
He ran over to Yang Ming, pounding Yang Ming’s shoulder with his gaunt and feeble fists in rapid succession.
“Ha ha ha ha! The arrogant Empire didn’t even bother to search this planet! Ha ha ha! That Lina! Damn, she got her comeuppance immediately! Let her attack my ship again!”
“We escaped! Hanton! It was so thrilling! The Imperial Dreadnought was right over our heads!”
“Oh ho ho! We are pirates, pirates, pirates!”
Yang Ming watched the little old man, who was laughing and singing and dancing, and felt like making an interstellar call to Mimili, reminding her to care for the mental health of the elderly.
Kolev opened up three bottles of champagne, making a complete mess of the bridge.
Once the excitement wore off, the old pirate began to feel melancholy again.
“Oh, it’s just that my losses are a bit heavy.”
Kolev sighed, “The Alliance actually used a battleship to bully my poor pirate ships! Our plan had gathered all the pirate ships together; my god, they were just like five ship-shaped targets!”
Yang Ming felt a bit guilty; after all, it was his plan.
He had indeed not considered this little detail before, only contemplating their own situation.
Yang Ming tried to change the subject, “If Lina comes to her senses, she might still suspect I’m alive and then carry out a post-mortem analysis… I really should thank the Empire.”
“Thank the Empire,” Kolev said with his hands on his hips, “I feel much better now.”
The old man didn’t seem to blame him.
Kolev brought over the champagne, clinked glasses with Yang Ming, and after both took a sip, silence fell once again.
Yang Ming looked at the starry sky.
Kolev was recovering his mental energy that had been drained by the Dreadnought.
What do you think?
