Chapter 1117: Selling Brother Dafu
Chapter 1117: Selling Brother Dafu
After Zhouzhou finished eating at the temple, she rubbed her stomach and made her way back to the Daoist temple later that evening. As she arrived, Li Yuanming was sitting under a tree, sipping tea. When he saw her, he snorted, "So you finally decided to come back."
Zhouzhou, while running, responded, "I'll leave soon, I promise."
Li Yuanming raised an eyebrow in confusion. "What?"
This rebellious disciple!
Zhouzhou quickly returned to her room, taking out her fortune-telling tools and the flag with the word "Fugui" written on it. Starting today, Master Fugui would make her return to the world!
She grabbed her tools and rushed back outside. Just as she was about to leave, Li Yuanming stopped her. "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to set up my fortune-telling stall," Zhouzhou said with a tilt of her head. "Did you not hear Abbot Master's words, Master?"
Li Yuanming sighed. "Yes, I heard. I even got scolded a few times because of it."
Why did his disciple get along with that bald monk next door so well?
Annoyed, he added, "Where are you going to set the stall this late at night? Are you going to that monk's place again?"
Zhouzhou shook her head. "No, no. I'm going to the street. It's really busy right now. Anyway, Master, I won't talk to you anymore. Brother Dafu is waiting for me. Goodbye!"
Before Li Yuanming could say anything else, Zhouzhou dashed off, and in a blink of an eye, her figure had disappeared.
"That little brat!" Li Yuanming grumbled through gritted teeth, but before he could continue, someone tapped him on the head. It was Ancestral Master.
He stared at Li Yuanming and scolded, "What are you stopping Zhouzhou for? She's earning Merits for me! Do you want me to restore my golden body completely or not?"
Li Yuanming quickly shook his head. "No, no. I didn't mean that. I... I was just jealous."
He said, looking pitiful.
Ancestral Master glanced at him with disdain. "Useless."
"If you're so worried about her, just try a little harder and beat those people from the next door. Isn't that enough?"
His words seemed simple enough, but Ancestral Master knew better. He thought about his own lack of progress in fortune-telling over the past decade and sighed deeply.
Ancestral Master, too, recalled the same thing, and his gaze toward Li Yuanming grew even more disdainful. The best thing he had done in his life was to take in good disciples. In that regard, he could at least say they were alike. He liked to take advantage of others.
With that, Ancestral Master snorted and didn't want to talk to him anymore. He floated off in the direction Zhouzhou had taken, Qin Lie following along to drive her to the bridge.
"Brother Dafu!" Zhouzhou waved as she saw Qin Er. She quickly approached him.
Qin Er gave her a nod and set up half of his stall for her, helping her get everything ready.
Zhouzhou looked at him curiously. "Brother Dafu, you're running a business now, but why are you still setting up a stall here at night?"
Qin Er casually replied, "Just picking up some extra work."
Zhouzhou couldn't help but give him a thumbs-up. When it came to earning money, Brother Dafu was her role model. Her father was always slacking off, but Brother Dafu never did.
He was either setting up a stall or on his way to set up. Even now, he hadn't given up.
When Zhouzhou noticed Qin Er was holding a computer, she leaned over to see what it was. It was an entirely English document, and the content had nothing to do with their company. She asked in confusion, "Brother Dafu, what is this?"
Without even looking up, Qin Er replied, "I took a translation job."
Zhouzhou's eyes widened. "You're incredible! Working two jobs at once, and it's just one night!"
Zhouzhou was intrigued. "Brother Dafu, don't you have trouble finding time for a second job during the day?"
Qin Er shook his head. "No, I do have time. Apart from my regular job, if I have free time, I also consult for a competitor company online. They don't know it's me."
Zhouzhou blinked in confusion. "Why help a competitor?"
Qin Er looked at her seriously and replied, "Zhouzhou, have you heard the saying, 'Having a competitor is like having a medicine to boost your health, a strong stimulant?' A competitor can push us to improve constantly."
He continued, "Besides, they know me the best. Every piece of advice I give them is tailored to their mindset, and it helps me understand them more, making it easier to deal with them."
Zhouzhou nodded, understanding the logic, though she wondered how the competitor company would feel if they found out their consultant was actually Qin Er. They might faint from shock!
Qin Lie, who had been observing, couldn't help but glance at Qin Er. This nephew of his was quite something.
Qin Lie had paid attention to both his company and the competitors. He knew that Qin Er's advice was excellent and often applicable to his own company. Qin Er was forcing himself to come up with better ideas, pushing himself further to improve. Of course, it was mostly about making more money.
Such a person was ruthless with himself.
Qin Lie chuckled as he patted Qin Er on the shoulder. "Nice work, keep it up."
Upon hearing this, Qin Er's eyes lit up. His greatest admiration was for his uncle! With his uncle's praise, he was even more confident.
Zhouzhou also clenched her fists. "I'll work hard too!"
She couldn't be like Brother Dafu, juggling so many jobs, but she could certainly do her best in the job she had.
Seeing this, Qin Lie patted her on the shoulder, encouraging her, "Good job, keep it up."
"Mm!" Zhouzhou nodded vigorously before shouting, "Fortune-telling, selling talismans! Don't miss out, come and get your fortune read..."
Her voice quickly drew a crowd. She was beautiful, and Qin Er was handsome with an elite vibe, while Qin Lie, though nearing forty, had an aura that made him seem even more attractive.
It was a combination that made it hard for people not to be interested.
Before long, a few girls came over to Zhouzhou's stall, but their eyes were fixed on Qin Er and Qin Lie.
"Miss, who are these two?" one of the girls asked.
Zhouzhou immediately became defensive, following their gaze and quickly replying, "This is my father and my brother."
She puffed up her chest like an angry little chicken, ready for a fight.
Qin Lie, seeing this, raised his hand and ruffled her hair. "I'm going to wait in the car."
"Mm-hmm!" Zhouzhou nodded quickly, urging, "Dad, go quickly!"
He were too eye-catching.
The girls looked at him longingly as he left, their gazes turning to Qin Er, who was also quite attractive.
Zhouzhou noticed this and immediately rolled her eyes before leaning close to Qin Er. "Brother Dafu, why don't you help me keep them here? I'll give you half of the money!"
Qin Er gave her a blank stare.
What do you think?
