Chapter 1227 1227: Foul Play Backfires
As soon as Zhouzhou finished speaking, she swung her fist towards Augusta's chest with all her might.
Augusta's eyelids flickered. He knew exactly how powerful that punch could be, so he didn't try to take it head-on. Instead, he quickly retreated a step.
He glared at Zhouzhou, grinding his teeth. "You've got some skills."
Zhouzhou shook her head. "No, not some, a lot. You can keep complimenting me, I love it. Even if I get too cocky, I won't lose to you. I'll make sure you die a clear, simple death."
At this, Augusta almost laughed out loud. And he did, his lips curling into a smirk. "You really are Ye Lingfeng's daughter, just like him—so damn annoying."
Ye Lingfeng had been like that too—so arrogant, and it was one of the reasons Augusta hated him.
Zhouzhou, hearing this, replied earnestly, "I actually think my dad and I are quite charming. If you don't like it, why not go die and save us the trouble of seeing you? Or you could just close your eyes and never open them again."
She was so pleased with her own suggestion, thinking it was extremely considerate.
Augusta let out a cold laugh. Then, without a word, he threw another punch at her.
Zhouzhou sighed inwardly. As expected, some people are just too stubborn to listen to reason.
But she didn't hesitate for a moment. Without thinking twice, she retaliated.
Their fists collided, the shockwave of the impact ringing in their ears, but neither backed down. They continued to exchange blows, each strike landing heavily.
Soon, both of them were covered in cuts and bruises.
Zhouzhou spat out a mouthful of blood. "I didn't expect you to be this strong."
Augusta, eyes narrowed, stared at her. "I didn't expect you to last this long against me."
Originally, he had thought that, no matter how skilled she was, she was still young, and couldn't possibly be that powerful.
But to his surprise, she was holding her ground.
His eyes shifted, and he quickly pressed forward again, engaging her in another round of fierce combat.
Suddenly, he caught Zhouzhou's arm, pulling her in tight.
In the next moment, Zhouzhou felt a low growl and the unmistakable sound of a tiger's roar.
She turned just in time to see a massive tiger charging at her from behind, aiming to sink its teeth into her.
Looking at Augusta, she saw a smirk on his face. Clearly, the tiger was part of his plan—something he had prepared beforehand.
Her lips curled up too. In an instant, she yanked Augusta out of the way, narrowly avoiding the tiger's lethal bite.
She then called out loudly, "Whoa, where did this big, handsome tiger come from? Come home with me, I have meat at home!"
Augusta was momentarily stunned, not quite understanding what she was babbling about.
Before he could react, a black shadow flashed in front of him. With a swift motion, it pounced on the tiger, slashing at its eyes.
The move was so quick and vicious that the tiger didn't have time to react, letting out a pained roar.
Furious, the tiger swiped at the black figure with its massive paw.
The shadow, however, was agile, quickly leaping out of the way. The tiger's paw missed, only to strike its own head in a fit of rage.
The tiger let out another cry of pain.
Jinbao, with its small but relentless frame, landed on the tiger's back, slashing again and again.
Though the tiger's tough skin made it nearly impossible for Jinbao to draw blood, the tiger was now utterly enraged, and it chased after Jinbao, striking the air with its claws.
But Jinbao was too quick, always outmaneuvering it, and the tiger ended up hurting itself with each swipe.
After a while, Jinbao was breathing heavily, clearly exhausted.
It stood triumphantly on the tiger's head, its tail swishing back and forth in pride. "Meow, meow," it grumbled, clearly displeased.
This little jerk had dared to take a nap and now wanted to bring some sidekick tigers home? In your dreams!
With Jinbao's protection, the wild animals would never get past the gates of the Fugui family.
But Jinbao couldn't help but feel a flicker of doubt. This tiger wasn't handsome at all—how could it compare to Wangcai?
It looked sideways at Zhouzhou, who was smiling serenely instead of getting upset. Suddenly, Jinbao realized—Crap, I've been duped!
She had done this on purpose to make it jealous, to get it to do her dirty work. What a sneak!
Enraged, Jinbao launched itself at Zhouzhou with its claws raised.
But it ended up kicking the tiger in the eye by mistake, causing the tiger to roar in pain and lunge at it.
Seeing this, Zhouzhou's eyes glinted with a sharp light.
Here it comes!
She quickly pulled Augusta around, positioning him to be in the path of the incoming tiger.
Realizing her intent, Augusta tightened his grip, knowing exactly what she was trying to do.
It seemed that both of them were on the same wavelength in certain ways.
Their combined strength was evenly matched, and for a moment, neither could break free.
Augusta gritted his teeth, holding her tightly. Even if it meant death, he wasn't going to let her escape.
The tiger was charging, its claws bared. Zhouzhou clenched her teeth, headbutting Augusta with all her might.
It was as if she had trained her skull to be as tough as iron. The force of the collision made Augusta's vision blur, and his grip loosened just enough for her to seize the moment.
Without hesitation, Zhouzhou flipped Augusta, throwing him into the path of the tiger.
The tiger, now completely out of control after Jinbao's relentless assault, barreled into Augusta with a ferocious roar.
It sank its teeth into his body, but unfortunately for Augusta, it only managed to bite off one of his arms.
Zhouzhou couldn't help but feel a twinge of regret. If only it had been his head...
She shoved Augusta away and quickly rolled to catch Jinbao, pulling it into her arms and planting a kiss on its head before it could get too angry.
"Jinbao, you're awesome! I knew you were the best! Even Wangcai and the others can't compare to you."
Jinbao's tail flicked in pleasure, clearly enjoying the praise.
But then, it remembered Zhouzhou probably said the same thing to Wangcai and the others, and huffed, This little brat...
Though it couldn't deny that Zhouzhou was pretty cute when she tried to coax it.
Sigh... I'm totally a sucker for her looks.
But Jinbao decided it was fine. One day, when all the other little sidekicks were out of the picture, it would be the true victor.
With a soft sigh, Jinbao cuddled closer to Zhouzhou, its tail wrapped around her wrist, unwilling to let go.
She's mine.
Zhouzhou coughed and spat another mouthful of blood.
Leaning against a tree, she popped a pill in her mouth and glared at Augusta. "You're the first person to make me this injured."
Augusta, struggling to sit up, glared at her, his severed arm beside him.
He looked at his wound with a dark expression, his eyes like storm clouds. "You're the first one to injure me like this."
Zhouzhou couldn't help but smile at his words. "Don't forget, the first one to injure you is definitely my dad."
To her surprise, Augusta laughed too. "Yeah, you two are really something. But unfortunately for you, you're going to die here."
As he spoke, he raised his gun, aiming at Zhouzhou, and began to slowly apply pressure...
What do you think?
