After Going Viral on a Dating Show, I'm Pampered by All

Chapter 130: 130: Si Jing: Brother Li, there's no need to hit me where it hurts even if you find me annoying!

Chapter 130: Chapter 130: Si Jing: Brother Li, there’s no need to hit me where it hurts even if you find me annoying!

The air grew still with a hush of silence, leaving Sang Qiao at a loss for words for a moment.

She couldn’t very well say that she had spent the entire previous night thinking about the two of them together.

Si Jing hesitated for a moment and then wanted to smack himself several times. Sang Qiao had come over late at night, and Brother Li even specifically asked him to leave. Now both of them had identical dark circles under their eyes; what happened last night was quite obvious!

“Cough cough cough, forget I asked anything, Brother Li, sister-in-law. Come, come, come, let’s have breakfast.”

“The appointment for the urologist I made for you, go get a follow-up.” Si Chenli glanced at him.

Sang Qiao’s red lips couldn’t help but curve into a smile. Urologist? Follow-up? Si Jing actually had this problem?

Si Jing: “!!?” Why did he have to remind me of this in front of others!

Just because he succeeded in getting with sister-in-law didn’t mean they had to push him away by poking at his sore spot.

Feeling too angry to speak, Si Jing left the hospital room in a dejected manner.

Sang Qiao took a few steps to the table and opened the thermal bag, taking two sets of bowls and chopsticks and the thermos containing porridge.

There was a generous amount of porridge, leaving probably one more bowl after filling two.

“Can you sit up?” Sang Qiao wondered to herself whether she should feed him.

But it was his leg that was injured…

“Yeah, there’s a small table under the desk,” Si Chenli chuckled softly.

“Okay.” Sang Qiao first helped him to sit up, her movement as if she were holding him, her nose nearly touching his chest.

His body carried a faint scent of disinfectant.

After propping him up, she stuffed a pillow behind his back for him to lean on.

Then she bent down to fetch a foldable small table from below, set it up, and placed it by the outside of his legs.

Sang Qiao placed the spoon and the bowl filled with porridge on the small table, and the man began to eat bite by bite.

The room was silent as they ate their breakfast.

After the meal, Sang Qiao planned to return to the office, just as Si Jing had returned from his follow-up at the urologist.

“Brother, sister-in-law, you’ve finished eating.”

Sang Qiao nodded her head, turned around to look at the man on the hospital bed, “I’m heading back to the office.”

“Will you come back this afternoon?” Si Chenli lifted his eyelids, his deep black pupils staring at her, expressionless.

Hearing this, Sang Qiao couldn’t help but smile, “Yes, is there anything specific you would like to eat? I’ll bring you dinner.”

“Anything is fine.”

“Alright then, I’m off.” Sang Qiao let out a light chuckle and started to walk away.

“Yeah.” Si Chenli watched her back as she left.

Si Jing didn’t understand what he was seeing, “Brother, if you can’t bear to let sister-in-law leave, you should hold her back. You’re a patient now, a few words from you and she’s sure to feel sorry for you.”

“It’s alright. She has her own things to do,” Si Chenli said with a faint smile on his lips.

Being together was about giving him a legitimate status to love and pamper her, not about becoming her burden or putting her in a difficult position.

“Yeah, right,” Si Jing had nothing to reply, as he just didn’t understand his brother’s thinking.

Clutching the medical report in his hands, Si Jing felt frustrated, he was handsome and suave, with remarkable qualities – how could he have this kind of problem, damn it!

He wondered if he even dared to date anyone anymore, not knowing when he would be cured.

The third installment of the dating reality show had also wrapped up filming, and its popularity had noticeably declined compared to the first two seasons.

When Xu Mianmian and the others returned to the agency, Meng Jiahe was busy arranging other resources for them. As soon as Sang Qiao arrived, she witnessed this scene.

“Sister Qiao.” They all greeted in chorus.

“That’s enough, go about your business. I have something to discuss with Sang Qiao,” Meng Jiahe was almost done speaking and waved them away.

“Alright.” They obediently left the office.

Meng Jiahe began by saying what she saw the night before. She had wanted to bring it up then but had drunk too much and fell asleep as soon as she got home.

“Qiaoqiao, I saw Fu Xing and Su Nuanying at a banquet yesterday, and their relationship clearly isn’t ordinary. I’m afraid she’s been deceived by Fu Xing.”

“I’ll look into it.” Sang Qiao thought for a moment – Su Nuan’s recent behavior had indeed resembled that of a girl in the throes of a new romance.

Only, if the other party was Fu Xing, it was doubtful it was anything serious.

“I guess since Fu Xing was chased away by Starlight Entertainment and nowhere to go, he can’t bear to leave the circle and is probably tricking your cousin into investing in him.”

Meng Jiahe remembered the scenes from last night and felt that Fu Xing was truly a man living off a woman.

After so many years of association, she was foolish never to have seen through Fu Xing’s duplicity.

“Fu Xing has big ambitions; he wouldn’t easily give up on his career.” Sang Qiao understood this as well – otherwise, Fu Xing wouldn’t have kept up his act for so many years right under Ah He’s nose.

Fu Xing was a patient man, but at the first opportunity to climb up, he wouldn’t wait a second.

Xingxing, on the other hand, was rather naive and rebellious. If Sang Qiao brought this matter up directly, Xingxing wouldn’t believe it; she had to find some leverage over Fu Xing first.

“True.” Meng Jiahe laughed at herself sarcastically, but she had never noticed this before.

Sang Qiao hadn’t expected she would stumble upon the matter without a thorough investigation, and there Fu Xing and Su Nuanying were, right before her eyes.

It was hard to say whether they were bold or if Fu Xing believed his relationship with Su Nuanying would ensure he got the role.

Casting in progress for Rose Entertainment’s new script

By coincidence, Sang Qiao was descending the stairs and ran into the two sitting in the hallway, holding hands tightly.

Su Nuanying obviously saw her cousin and stood up in fright, releasing Fu Xing’s hand, “Cousin… it’s not what you think.”

“Xingxing, don’t be scared, I’m your cousin, not your parents, and besides, I love you sincerely, there’s nothing we can’t let her know.”

Fu Xing stood up too, firmly taking Su Nuanying’s hand, his tone unwavering.

He knew very well the script came from Rose Entertainment; in other words, it was deliberate on his part – he wanted everyone to know that Fu Xing wasn’t the same reviled figure as before; now, he was the cousin-in-law to the president of Rose Entertainment!

Fu Xing was so bold because he understood Su Nuanying — willful and defiant, she certainly wouldn’t break up with him just because of what others said.

“Cousin, Fu Xing truly regrets his past wrong choices. Everyone makes mistakes in their life, and now he sincerely wants to change. I hope… you won’t stop us from being together, and please don’t tell Grandma about the past.”

Su Nuanying held onto Fu Xing’s hand, silently encouraging herself to be brave.

If Fu Xing could bring her to meet his parents and friends, intending truly to spend his life with her, how could she always hide away?

“Sister Qiao, if you have any anger, take it out on me, but please don’t break us up. For Xingxing, I can sacrifice everything. I can’t live without her.”

Fu Xing intentionally stepped forward, making this heartfelt speech, and sheltered Xingxing behind him.

His actions undoubtedly moved Su Nuanying; Fu Xing could go to such lengths for her.

Other actors who came for the audition were also abuzz with discussions, all touched by Fu Xing’s gesture, which put Sang Qiao in the awkward position of appearing to be the villain disrupting their relationship.
