Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Unwilling to Forgive, Then We’re Even
“Qingran, don’t leave, I’m scared,” Mrs. Sang cried out, inconsolable, as she wiped the mud off the teddy bear over and over, with those frightening images she feared filling her head.
She felt sorry for Qiaoqiao, sorry for her child; Sang Zheng’s indifference had clouded her judgment.
She had taken out her own pain and misfortune on the child, she really wasn’t worth anything.
“You prefer Sang Jiao the most, don’t you? Let her keep you company!”
“I was wrong, I truly realize my mistake now. I was deceived by the Master. I like Qiaoqiao, I and Mom even talked about buying her lots of pretty dresses in the past, turning her into a Little Princess. But after Mom passed away, I no longer had a pillar of support in that house, no one to keep me company or guide me.”
Everything Mrs. Sang said seemed like a casting away of her innermost feelings; she was just too scared.
Time had passed too quickly, and she could hardly believe that so many years had already gone by; she hadn’t kept her initial promise to her mother-in-law to treat Sang Qiao kindly.
She blamed Sang Qiao for all of Sang Zheng’s cold neglect and her mother-in-law’s passing.
She clutched her head, in so much pain she could hardly breathe, and slowly lay on the floor, banging her head against the ground forcefully.
Sang Qingran stood there, watching the scene unfold with no reaction. Just because she was suffering, did that mean he wasn’t?
“Dr. Sang, what are you doing! The patient is already emotionally unstable and cannot be stimulated.”
The nurse on rounds was startled by the scene and hurried to help Mrs. Sang to her feet, leading her toward the hospital bed while patting her back in a comforting manner, “It’s alright now, it’s alright.”
She pressed the emergency call button.
Sang Qingran also didn’t want to stay here any longer. He turned and walked away; he came, not to watch Mrs. Sang go mad.

After finishing up the work at the company, Sang Qiao went downstairs, intending to go to the Si Family; she had promised to meet him.
Just as she walked to the bottom floor of the company, a figure blocked her path, and when she looked up, she saw Sang Qingran’s indifferent face; he was no longer wearing a white lab coat but a plain and simple white suit instead.
Sang Qingran looked down at her, his eyes no longer containing mockery and forced resentment.
“I found out about the money you secretly gave me. I’ll pay you back tenfold for whatever you gave me behind my back.”
“No need,” Sang Qiao said, stepping forward, planning to brush past him.
Sang Qingran suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist, his lips trembling. It took him a while to speak as if nothing were wrong, “I know you can’t forgive us. You want to settle things, right? Then take back everything you gave me.”
“Sure, I’ll have the company’s finance department contact you.” Sang Qiao glanced at him, breaking free from his grasp.
A sudden pang of discomfort struck Sang Qingran—she had looked at him with those same eyes yesterday but it hadn’t hurt as much as now.
“…Alright.”
As he watched Sang Qiao’s figure nearly disappear from his view, Sang Qingran hurried after her.
“I went looking for you. I was serious about the bond of siblinghood we shared. Back then… I overheard the conversation you had with that doctor. I didn’t have the courage to push open the door. I couldn’t believe that the person in my family who treated me with the most care also thought of me as a joke.”
Sang Qiao stood there waiting for him to finish what he wanted to say, her tiny face expressionless.
Her indifference instantly stung Sang Qingran; he tried to grasp her hand, but it slipped away just as he lifted it slightly, “Forget it, I just want to ask you one last thing—why were you so good to me?”
“Is it meaningful to ask these questions now?” Sang Qiao asked him, unhurriedly and calmly.
She could probably guess that Sang Siyang had said something, after all, when he had come to ask her those inexplicable questions that day, she had felt something was off.
But, for her, these matters were no longer important.
“You can go now.” Sang Qingran said in agony, at that moment he desperately wished that Sang Qiao had never been sincere with him.
As soon as Sang Qiao stepped out of the company’s main entrance, Sang Qingran followed soon after, while Sang Siyang, standing behind a wall and witnessing the scene, guessed that Third Brother must have made a mistake.
Meanwhile, stationed at another corner was Sang Shen, the three men saw Qiaoqiao leave and planned to come out.
When they all came out together, three pairs of eyes met.
“…”

The fact that Sang Qiao was Mr. Si’s girlfriend was common knowledge, so when she arrived at the company’s reception, no one stopped her, but they directly escorted her upstairs.
“Mr. Si’s office is just ahead, you can go straight in.”
“Okay, thank you.”
Sang Qiao knocked on the door, which was opened by a woman with a fine figure, her blouse’s neckline quite low, her hair somewhat messy, and her lipstick smudged.
The woman’s face changed slightly at the sight of her, “Miss Sang Qiao, please come in. Mr. Si is still in the resting room; perhaps you could wait outside for a moment.”
Sang Qiao sized her up, the woman in front of her even had her skirt hiked up high, any higher and one could see her underwear, the office inside was very quiet, clearly, there had only been Si Chenli and this woman just before.
Now that Si Chenli was in the resting room and this woman with her disheveled clothes was coming out, Sang Qiao felt something odd in her heart.
She moved past the woman intending to enter, but the woman directly blocked her.
“Even if you’re Mr. Si’s girlfriend, Miss Sang Qiao, you can’t just barge into his office; there are many confidential documents inside. If something happens, it’s not something you can be responsible for.”
The woman, with an appropriately pleasant smile on her face, nonchalantly brushed her shoulder-length hair, revealing the red marks on her neck.
In her mind, a man like Mr. Si considered Sang Qiao nothing more than a fling, merely a moment’s impulse.
“Move aside.” Sang Qiao spoke with a hint of impatience in her voice, and reached out to push the woman’s arm away.
Caught off guard, the woman stumbled and fell backward, and just then the door to the resting room opened. She simply sat there not moving, “Miss Sang Qiao, you can hit me if you dislike me, but you can’t go into the office!”
Then, as if by accident, she caught sight of Si Chenli, lowering her gaze and speaking in a demure voice, “Mr. Si, I couldn’t stop Miss Sang Qiao…”
“Leave, and don’t stop her at my office anymore,” Si Chenli commanded without even glancing at the disheveled woman on the floor.
Instead, he stepped toward Sang Qiao, “Please sit on the sofa for a while, will you wait for me to finish work?”
Sang Qiao’s lips faintly curved as she glanced at the woman getting up from her disgrace, coolly addressing the man, “What were you doing in the office that even work was delayed?”
The woman left the room slowly, hearing Sang Qiao’s questioning voice she couldn’t help but want to laugh.
A man like Mr. Si probably despised being controlled by others the most, let alone having to endure such sharp, jealous words, she was certain he would lash out at Sang Qiao.
However, to her surprise, the next second she heard Mr. Si explaining to Sang Qiao with a gentle and tender voice, his expression full of a doting look that she had never seen before.
“She spilled coffee on my pants, which is why I went to the resting room to change clothes. As for why she was still here, it was to clean the floor thoroughly before getting lost.”
What do you think?
