Chapter 68: A Small Game to Enhance Affection ~
Chapter 68: Chapter 68: A Small Game to Enhance Affection ~
~~~
Early the next morning, a shaft of sunlight streamed through the window, and the high and melodious ringing filled the Siheyuan as the production crew knocked on every room’s door.
Once everyone had woken up and gathered, the director began to announce the day’s schedule.
Instead of holding something like a lottery draw, he was holding a big pack of candies. Seeing this, everyone looked bewildered.
“Before, on our love reality show, we provided plenty of opportunities for couples to spend time alone, which didn’t increase everyone’s feelings for each other. So, this morning we’re playing a little game,” the director said cheerfully as he opened the candies and handed a handful to each person.
“See the gummy candies in your hands? They dissolve upon contact with water. Each male and female guest bites one end and holds it for thirty seconds. As long as the candy doesn’t break, they pass. Each pair only gets one candy—if they fail, they must put on the sack next to them and dance as a punishment.”
...
As soon as the director finished speaking, everyone instinctively glanced at the sacks nearby.
The two big characters on it almost blinded them: Urea Mold.
“Are we supposed to wear this damn thing???” Yao Hui’s face was indescribable, still faintly feeling the pain from being hit by the feather duster the night before.
“You don’t have to if you complete the task.”
“If it dissolves in water, does that mean we can’t drool? How is that possible?” Meng Wangge just looked at that “urea skirt” and felt utterly disgusted.
“Almost. Which group wants to go first?” the director purposely bought this kind of soft candy.
Everyone was as quiet as chickens.
Sang Shen looked uneasy; he had never even held a woman before, and now he had to share a piece of candy with one. He felt uncomfortable but couldn’t refuse upon seeing that urea bag.
Having embarrassed himself by falling into pig dung was bad enough, but dancing in a urea bag would make him lose face for life.
The director continued to persuade, “Doesn’t anyone dare to try first? Whether you stick your head out or not, it’s the same thing, so don’t hesitate.”
“Easy for you to say, you’re not the one who has to dance in urea,” muttered Yao Hui.
Director: “…” Lost for words.
[The production team really isn’t humane a single day! I’ve long stopped treating this show as a love reality show. I think it could be renamed ‘Driving the Guests to Their Doom.’]
[Hahaha, the director got choked up and didn’t make a sound. Speaking of which, the director has messed with everyone so many times, when can the guests mess with the director?]
[Maybe in the next life?]
“How about we go first?” Sang Qiao looked at the man beside her and spoke up.
“Mmm.” Si Chenli nodded, and the two stepped forward.
“Sang Qiao and Mr. Si’s team will go first!” The director specially started the timer, and the camera focused on the two of them.
After tearing open the candy wrapper, Sang Qiao felt its incredible softness. She thought it would probably break with just a light nibble. She looked up at the man in front of her.
“We’ll lightly hold it between our lips without drooling, and it should probably not break.”
“… That’s possible.” The man looked at the soft candy in her hand, its color crystal clear, about the length of two finger joints, so their lips would not touch.
Sang Qiao played it safe, barely holding a bit of the candy with her lips, but the next second, it fell to the ground with a “snap.”
She turned to look at the director with an innocent expression: “… Does that count? Mr. Si didn’t even touch the candy.”
“This time it doesn’t count, but there will be no exceptions next time. Bite off more,” the director, holding his forehead, hadn’t expected Sang Qiao to be so shy—the candy was so long, and she didn’t even bite as much as a fingernail’s crescent!
“Okay.” Sang Qiao nodded and quickly took another candy from her pocket and tore it open.
This time, she bit about two-thirds of it with her lips and tilted her head back, waiting for the man to bite the other half.
Si Chenli bent down, his body emanating a light scent of soap flooding her nostrils. When his thin lips bit the other side, their eyes met, their noses nearly touching, just a centimeter apart.
The timer ticked by, second by second, until thirty seconds passed—”Okay, you’ve passed!”
Sang Qiao immediately breathed a sigh of relief, hesitated not a moment to spit out the candy, thinking the man would do the same. However, the next second, she saw him also put the half he had bitten into his mouth.
She stood still, completely stunned. Although their saliva hadn’t touched, it had still been in her mouth. How could he just eat it? What about his germaphobia?
[Sister Qiao and Brother Li’s task completion abilities are extremely high. They might be unlucky with the draw, but they almost never draw something embarrassing.]
[Exactly, exactly. Actually, I kind of want to see them in embarrassing costumes.]
[I swear, the comment above is really “malicious”!]
[Brother Li ate Sister Qiao’s candy, aaaah, they must truly be a couple, if it’s fake, I’ll stake my head on it!]
Aside from Sang Shen, no one else noticed the subtle moment of Sang Qiao’s shock.
Sang Shen knew Mr. Si’s intentions all too well, but he didn’t want someone like that to be with Qiaoqiao. Mr. Si was too domineering, not suitable for Qiaoqiao.
“Next pair.”
With the experience of the first couple, Lu Tianxin and Gu Nanmo bravely stepped forward.
After tearing open the candy wrapper, each of them bit an end. Lu Tianxin showed as much disgust as she could muster, wishing she could only bite a tiny bit at the end.
In the end, the candy slipped out of her mouth while Gu Nanmo was still holding the other end.
“It’s not been thirty seconds yet, failed.”
“Lu Tianxin, what were you doing just now, couldn’t you have bitten a bit more of that long candy?” Gu Nanmo complained, a task that was easy to pass but she screwed it up.
“What if I touched your lips, how many people have you kissed, you might be sick.”
Lu Tianxin’s undisguised disgust on her face angered Gu Nanmo even more, “We didn’t even kiss, there was no contact with saliva, how could I infect you!”
“Can’t I feel disgusted?”
“You! You are being utterly unreasonable.”
Their argument ended with Gu Nanmo conceding defeat.
[Lu Tianxin is really disrespectful, and her words are too harsh.]
[I think so too, she always reprimands people harshly at the slightest thing. It seems like whatever others do is wrong.]
[Folks, I’m truly speechless, she’s not suitable for a romance show, she should go to a survival show to experience hardships and the nastiness of the world.]
The next pair was Sang Shen and Liang Mengyun who volunteered to step forward, Liang Mengyun’s cheeks turning completely red before she even bit the candy.
Sang Shen seemed calm, waiting for both of them to bite an end. Because of her nervousness, Liang Mengyun bit too much of it, getting very close to him, their lips nearly touching.
By the time Liang Mengyun realized, it was too late to pull back; the candy was too soft and could easily break in half.
Her eyes fluttering, she was extremely nervous.
Sang Shen’s back also stiffened, originally trying to endure the sensation on his lips. @@novelbin@@
Just as the countdown showed twenty more seconds, he suddenly felt nauseous, couldn’t hold back any longer, let go of the candy, and ran to the side to bend over and vomit.
What do you think?
