Chapter 15: Go Home or to the Hotel?
Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Go Home or to the Hotel?
Lady Ning thought they didn’t believe her, so she shook her phone, which clearly displayed the emergency call number.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have dared to come alone to face the danger.
The most important thing for her right now was to buy time until the police arrived.
The bald man’s face darkened, “I hate people who always run to the police at the drop of a hat!”
“If you let us go, I’ll call and drop the charges.”
“I’ve been in the underworld, after all. How could I just let you go and save my face?” the bald man scoffed, giving a signal to his men, and someone immediately opened a bottle of liquor and handed it to Lady Ning.
...
The intention was clear—to force her to drink.
Yuke immediately said, “I’ll drink it—it has nothing to do with Chu Chu. It was me you’re after…”
Lady Ning was inwardly anxious; Yuke was already unsteady from too much drinking, how could she let her drink more?
She snatched the liquor bottle and began to pour it into her mouth.
The strong spirit burned her throat.
Two minutes later, she threw the empty bottle back at the bald man, her body burning up.
“Can we leave now?”
The bald man was stunned, looking at the brassy and efficient Lady Ning, he suddenly found her quite appealing.
Perhaps it was because most women who came here were scantily clad, aiming to hook up with rich men or with other impure intentions, so encountering someone like Lady Ning, who had come to help her friend after a simple phone call and dressed casually, she seemed both righteous and intellectually charming.
“Leave? I haven’t even started handling my business, where do you think you’re going?”
Lady Ning realized something was wrong, her complexion slightly changed, and she quickly supported Yuke.
But just then, a man closest to the door suddenly lunged towards her, attempting to pull Yuke away and strangle Lady Ning.
Relying on the courage from the alcohol, she kicked the man in the chest; unprepared, he staggered back.
The other men, seeing that Lady Ning hadn’t fallen, swarmed around her, pinning her arms and rendering her unable to move. Yuke fell awkwardly and struggled to get up.
The bald man approached Lady Ning with a sinister smile, his gaze predatory and lustful, “I didn’t see it coming, a hot pepper like you. But refusing a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit is going to be bitter…”
As he said this, his hand slowly moved down Lady Ning’s cheek.
“Stop it! Let me go!” Lady Ning protested angrily but realized there was an uncontrollable heat creeping up within her.
A sense of panic set in; this feeling… she was all too familiar with it!
It was the same sensation from her chaotic night with Li Lingyang seven years ago! @@novelbin@@
She glared fiercely at the man before her, “If you dare touch me, I will never let you get away with it!”
The man ignored her, continuing to make lewd jokes with others, and reaching for her collar, when suddenly there was a loud “bang” as the door to the room was fiercely kicked open.
“Who’s that?” The bald man was startled.
He hurriedly looked towards the door, only to feel an intense aura strike him, and before he could even see how the person moved, his arm was broken with a “crack!”
“Ah—” the bald man let out a piercing scream, his face streaming with cold sweat, staggering several steps back.
Only then did the others clearly see that the intruders were several bodyguards in black leather.
The bodyguards stepped aside, and a man in a silver-black suit emerged from the crowd. Tall, nearly breaking the ceiling at over six feet, with chiseled features, his hawk-like eyes narrowed, unabashed anger within them.
Lady Ning lifted her disheveled head and saw him clearly among the crowd.
The colorful lights mottled on his handsome face like a ruthless sculpture, further stirring the memories hidden deep in Lady Ning’s heart.
Years ago, when she was cornered by bullies in the alley, he appeared just like now, as if he were a deity arriving against the light.
Li Lingyang’s cold gaze fixed tightly on her, seeing her hair in disarray and her collar slightly open, his heart tightened.
“Yo, it’s quite lively here today,” a mocking male voice came from behind.
The bald man raised his head to see the newcomer and his face turned deathly pale.
“Young Master Mu, what brings you here today?” The bald man, upon noticing the flamboyant shirt of the visitor, instantly turned into a fawning dog, ignoring the pain in his arm, nodding and bowing.
Mu Bailang’s fox-like, peach blossom eyes narrowed slightly. “If I didn’t come, who knows what would have happened to Xiao Chuchu.”
This club was owned by Mu Bailang, and he often came here for amusement. Just arriving today and intending to head to his usual private room upstairs, he unexpectedly discovered Ning Yichu’s presence.
As far as he knew, Ning Yichu wasn’t the kind to seek fun here. On closer inspection, he found a gang of hoodlums harassing her.
He immediately called Li Lingyang, and in less than ten minutes, Li Lingyang arrived.
The two had grown up as close as brothers, with Mu Bailang even serving as the best man at Li Lingyang’s wedding, and he was well aware of everything between them.
It was quite amusing; still so protective even after the divorce.
“It’s a misunderstanding… it’s all a misunderstanding, I didn’t know Miss Ning was a friend of yours, Young Master Mu,” the bald man stammered in fear.
Mu Bailang’s lips curled into a smile. “Old Li, how do you think we should deal with these guys?”
The bald man instantly dropped to his knees and began knocking his head on the floor. “President Li, please spare us! We were blind, we’ll roll out immediately, please let us live…”
Li Lingyang thought about what could have happened to Ning Yichu if he had arrived even later, and his eyes hardened, “Break an arm from each of them and throw them out of Imperial City.”
The bodyguards immediately complied, and after a series of ghastly screams like the wailing of ghosts and howling of wolves, the room fell quiet again.
Only then did Li Lingyang approach Ning Yichu and was just about to speak to her when, alcohol taking its toll, her body swayed, and with the crisis averted, her nerves, which had been tightly wound, suddenly relaxed, as if the breath she had been holding was suddenly let go, and she stumbled and fell straight down.
Li Lingyang’s reflexes were quick as he caught her slender waist and drew her into his arms.
Upon touching his solid chest, Ning Yichu felt as if she had found a cool new haven and couldn’t bear to let go.
She wanted to…
Strip off his clothes and touch him more intimately.
Ning Yichu was startled by her own thoughts, but before she could react any further, Li Lingyang scooped her up horizontally.
“You dare to drink so much without a tolerance? If I hadn’t come, what were you planning to do to end the night, huh?”
Ning Yichu, smelling the crisp pheromone scent on him, desperately burrowed into his embrace.
Li Lingyang raised an eyebrow, never having seen her act so bonelessly clingy before. Startled for a moment, his lips curved into a slight smile, and he turned to Mu Bailang, “There’s one more on the floor, take her home.”
After saying that, he left with Ning Yichu in his arms.
Mu Bailang expressed his disgust, “Damn it, you could at least thank me for calling you over to play the hero, but no, you just leave and make me run errands?”
Li Lingyang’s response was to walk away without looking back.
Li Lingyang thought Ning Yichu was just drunk and needed a place to rest and sober up.
But as soon as he carried her out of the club, the cool breeze hit them, and Ning Yichu’s wandering mind cleared up a bit. She instantly realized just how dangerous it was to be in Li Lingyang’s arms at that moment.
“Li… Li Lingyang…”
Li Lingyang looked down at the woman in his arms, his eyes dark, “Home or a hotel?”
Ning Yichu was so startled by his words that she was beside herself, her face flushed, biting her lower lip, and emitting a low murmur almost like a sleep talk, “You… you put me down first.”
What do you think?
