After I Became Famous, the CEO Wants Remarriage

Chapter 64: 64: Daughter Pays Father's Debt!

Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Daughter Pays Father’s Debt!

Ning Yichu’s body trembled, “Get lost, I was saving Doudou, not you!”

“Father pays for the daughter’s debts.”

“…” Ning Yichu felt him embrace her tighter, as the temperature gradually rose, she said annoyed, “No need, I’m always very magnanimous, I don’t need any of these superficial things.”

“Are you sure?”

“I’m sure, if you don’t let go now, the nurse will come.”

Outside the door, the sound of the nurse’s footsteps clattered, and Li Lingyang chuckled softly and slowly let her go.

...

Meanwhile, at the Li Mansion, Shen Jiangqing’s beautiful face was tightly frowned.

Li Lingyang had actually neglected her for Ning Yichu!

She was his lifesaver!

The next morning, when Ning Yichu woke up again, a small figure was sprawled at the bedside.

Ningning noticed the slight movement from Ning Yichu and immediately lifted her head.

“Mummy, mummy, you’re finally awake?”

After a night’s rest, Ning Yichu’s spirits were much better, she lovingly touched Ningning’s tender cheeks, “Mummy made you worry.”

“Yeah, the bad uncle said you woke up last night, but I fell asleep… He didn’t take advantage of me not being there to bully you, did he?” Ningning’s big eyes twirled in annoyance and guilt, just too cute for words.

Ning Yichu tapped her little nose, “Is your mummy that easy to bully? What about you? Running to the hospital late at night, have you forgotten last time you had a fever and needed injections?”

“I can’t settle without seeing you!” Ningning pouted coquettishly.

“You really are a little rascal.”

At that moment, the door of the hospital room opened, and Li Lingyang walked in with breakfast, seeing mother and daughter frolicking on the bed, he paused for a moment. Doudou was also whiny, but she was more like a fragile porcelain doll, never this lively.

Ningning spread her little arms in front of Ning Yichu like a chick protecting a hen.

Li Lingyang raised an eyebrow faintly, “I bought breakfast, will you eat?”

Ningning was quite principled, but a wise man knows better than to refuse a good meal.

The little girl put her hands on her hips, and puffed up, “Eat, I need to be full to take care of my dear mummy.”

The more Li Lingyang looked at her, the more he found her eyes and brows resembled Ning Yichu, and his sharp gaze shifted back and forth between them.

Ning Yichu being scrutinized like this could not smile anymore, who knew when this guy had stolen Ningning’s sample? And where had he taken it for testing?

Fearing he’d set his sights on Ningning again, Ning Yichu quickly picked Ningning up, “Ningning, say thank you to uncle.”

Ningning shook her little head, curling up in Ning Yichu’s arms, she hummed, “Thank you, bad uncle.”

Seeing her deliberately avoiding something, Li Lingyang casually set the breakfast down, his tone nonchalant, “When will you remove the ‘bad’ from ‘bad uncle’?”

Ningning’s eyes widened in defiance, “You knocked mummy out last night!”

Li Lingyang seemed to recall something, his expression meaningful, “Yes, I ‘knocked’ your mummy out.”

Even though it was a normal statement, facing the man’s narrow, dark eyes, Ning Yichu’s heart skipped a beat and her ears flushed shyly as she glared at him, “Li Lingyang!”

“It’s your daughter’s original words.” Li Lingyang leisurely watched her embarrassed demeanor; this slight blush was much prettier than a pale face.

Ning Yichu was once again left speechless by anger, this man was really too terrible!

Fortunately, breakfast was quickly set, and everyone’s focus returned to the meal.

Li Lingyang had just started eating when he received a phone call, his expression suddenly turning grim.

Ning Yichu noticed the dark aura around him, looking over with curiosity, “What happened?”

“Jiangqing’s heart disease acted up, and she’s been taken to emergency,” Li Lingyang gripped his phone tightly, his dark eyes shadowy and complex. Although he did not love Shen Jiangqing, her heart condition had indeed worsened because of childbirth.

“Is that so?” Ning Yichu replied indifferently, “Then you should hurry and see her.”

Li Lingyang frowned and stared at her, seeing not a ripple of concern in her demeanor, as if what happened to Shen Jiangqing had nothing to do with her. This agitated him once again.

“I’ll find you another caretaker.”

“No need, I should be discharged soon and will rest at home.”

“I’ve booked the hospital room for two days, and I’ve already paid; you can stay or leave as you wish,” Li Lingyang, knowing her stubbornness, didn’t wait for her discharge but simply said his piece before striding away.

“Mummy, does that vixen have heart disease? Does that mean she might kick the bucket?” Ningning, who was beside Ning Yichu, had a bit of understanding about heart disease.

Being rushed to emergency meant it was quite serious!

Ning Yichu lowered her long, dark lashes, speaking leisurely, “Don’t talk nonsense, she will be okay.”

“Hmm, our crappy dad will surely do everything to save her…” Ningning sighed woefully, feeling like she had become a bad kid for actually wishing for the bad woman to hurry up and die.

During yesterday’s birthday party, she and those adults, they only played with Chengcheng.

Apart from Granny Li, hardly anyone paid attention to her and Doudou.

She felt so oppressed and uncomfortable…

“Mummy, aren’t you a brilliant cardiologist? If our crappy dad begs you, will you save her?” Ningning suddenly speculated wildly.

Ning Yichu was stunned by her daughter’s revelation. Her intelligence was too high, connecting so many dots from a mere mention of heart disease.

“No,” Ning Yichu said calmly. She admitted she wasn’t one of those noble doctors. Originally, she had studied medicine to save her mother, and by some twist of fate, ended up specialising in cardiac surgery.

“I support you!” Ningning chirped, “She intentionally disappeared back then and framed you as a kidnapper. I wouldn’t save such a bad woman either!”

“Silly girl, hurry up and eat…”

Illness comes like a collapsing mountain, and leaves like unraveling silk; Ning Yichu hadn’t expected that attending a birthday party would result in her being hospitalized, and she inevitably had to request sick leave.

Her phone had been left at home, thankfully Fan YuKe was there and managed to have it delivered quickly through an express service.

She immediately called Mo Baiyou to request leave.

“You’re hospitalized? Is it serious?” Mo Baiyou’s voice instantly grew more concerned.

Ning Yichu was slightly surprised and quickly replied, “It’s just a slight fever, nothing serious, thank you for your concern, Mr. Mo.”

Mo Baiyou then asked, “Which hospital are you in?”

“Just a private hospital on West Street, I’m sorry for missing work…”

“No worries, your health is most important. There’s always time for work later,” Mo Baiyou reassured her, though he was puzzled, wondering how she became ill so suddenly.

Not wanting to disturb Ning Yichu’s rest, Mo Baiyou did not prolong the conversation.

After hanging up, Mo Baiyou planned to instruct his assistant to check what had happened at last night’s party before he could send out the message. Unexpectedly noted a chat in a WeChat group discussing last night’s event at the Li Mansion.

This group was somewhat of a small circle for some notable families in Imperial City.

The group owner, Ji Shiwang, the young miss of the Ji Family, had just posted a series of photos with a caption reading, “Tsk tsk, you probably haven’t seen such a fierce ex-wife! Dumped for five years, yet she still managed to win over Granny Li’s heart and even danced with President Li…”

The pictures were a series of clear close-ups of Ning Yichu and Li Lingyang dancing.

These were not taken by someone outside the party attendees…
