After leaving the team, the adventurer ladies regretted it deeply

Chapter 502: 378. Lia’s Invitation, Taking the Initiative

“What a delicate magical item!”

Lin Da was secretly astonished.

To condense such a terrifying magic circle into a palm-sized card, even he, a 36th level Star Rank, was nearly frostbitten…

It was enough to show the card maker’s astonishing skill; it was very likely the work of a Senior Moon Order, or even a Light Rank [Array Master].

There are thousands of adventurer professions, yet the most revered are these three:

The [Priests] who speed up the healing of adventurers’ wounds and grant the blessing of Holy Light.

...

The [Magic Pharmacists] who transform various materials into magic potions, turning the rotten into the miraculous.

The [Array Masters] who draw all kinds of magic circles, from everyday household items to Magic Conduction Cannons and Illusionary Magic Circles, leaving their traces across various industries.

These three professions rarely or almost never fight; the major powers form powerful adventure teams to help them conquer the World Tree.

There are somewhat more Priests, but the latter two are extremely rare, one might not even be born among a million people; they are like pandas in their rarity.

But in the Ice Abyss Training Camp, there was likely a Light Rank [Array Master]… A glimpse was enough to see the terrifying nature of this power.

In the entire Cangqing Province, they held a pivotal position.

“This is the entrance ticket to Ice Abyss Training Camp…”

Lin Da murmured, looking at the azure card in his hand, crafted as if from ice crystals.

Each card had a unique code, which allowed one to head to Ice Abyss Training Camp within three years to undergo grueling, hellish training.

The worst adventure teams to graduate from there were Sunrise Level.

The majority reached Dawn Level.

It was indeed the cradle of the strong.

Lin Da carefully stored the card and put it into his Space Ring.

He thought to himself that now was not the time to head to Cyan City.

He had to wait at least until he had taken down the Flame Giant and acquired that legendary weapon.

The following morning.

The sky had barely broken, the clock pointed to half-past six.

A small pebble tapped against the window frame of Lin Da’s bedroom.

“What kind of brat is interrupting my sleep…”

Lin Da grumbled, unwillingly crawling out of bed.

Last night, he had finally found an excuse about being “exhausted from just finishing the 14th floor,” which allowed him to avoid sharing a place with his teammates and to relish some long-lost peace and quiet.

Yet, he was woken up bright and early, which inevitably annoyed him.

“Who is it?”

He dressed and opened the window, frowning down at the figure below.

“Are you free today?”

In front of a row of flowerpots was a girl with red hair, playing nervously with her locks and wearing sunglasses.

She was dressed in a goose-yellow knitted sweater, a black skirt below, with slender and delicate legs wrapped in cotton black stockings.

She also wore brown Martin boots with thick heels, possibly around two centimeters high, and likely with lift insoles inside.

This made the girl’s height reach around the impressive mark of one meter fifty-five.

Atop her head sat a black baseball cap, with a fierce and chill flame totem embroidery in the middle, quite stylish and probably from the fashion-forward [Elf’s Home].

All these odd features left Lin Da with a look of confusion in his eyes. Who was this red-haired girl throwing pebbles at his window?

The girl also slung a small white bag over her right shoulder, which seemed to be a luxury item from Elf’s Home as well. Regardless of attire or accessories, everything was well-matched, giving off the vibe of a fashionable adventurer from a big city.

There was one red-haired person among those Lin Da knew.

But that redhead was really unsophisticated, often picking up clothes from street stalls to buy, whether she was rich or poor. She would never go to Elf’s Home to buy flashy but impractical luxury goods.

“You, come down.” The girl’s voice sounded extremely familiar.

Lin Da’s head was filled with an increasing sense of confusion, as he clumsily put on his clothes and went downstairs.

“If you’re a reporter from some agency trying to sneak pictures of Phoenix Tail Flower, don’t blame me for being rude.”

Lin Da took out the thick “Goblin Wooden Stick” and weighed it in his hand with a cold expression.

“It’s me, Miss! Can’t you recognize me?”

The red-haired girl with the duckbill cap took off her sunglasses.

She awkwardly scratched her cheek, looking rather restrained.

“Huh, why are you not saying anything?”

The girl looked at Lin Da in bewilderment, noticing he seemed to have turned into a Rock Man, not even blinking, his breathing had stopped too.

Was her outfit really that strange!?

“What are you spacing out for, this is normal, right?

It’s not like I just bought a whole outfit from Elf’s Home and then went to ‘Extreme Trim’ for a hair treatment, and even spent a Gold Coin to have the manager put on the light makeup any normal girl would wear…

This is normal, right!”

The girl’s face turned bright red with anxiety, as she eagerly listed examples to prove her behavior was “normal.”

Indeed, those examples were nothing but normal.

But Lin Da still looked bemused.

The very fact that she was desperately trying to prove how normal she was… was in itself not normal.

The girl’s ruby-like eyes held a mix of frustration and a touch of embarrassment, as if Lin Da’s silent gaze had flayed her from head to toe.

Even though Lin Da hadn’t said a word, she had already imagined all the taunts.

“Yes! I know people like me should only wear the clothes from street stalls that cost at most a silver coin each, and that my hat and my shoes look ridiculous. I get it, you don’t have to continue! I’m really sorry for wasting so many Gold Coins!”

With her hands clutching the thin straps of her shoulder bag, the girl lowered her head and turned to walk towards the outside of Goldfinch District.

She had completely failed!

That just confirmed how suspicious that guy was.

Lia was full of regret; she shouldn’t have listened to the other party’s suggestion.

Why would Lia, who dreams of becoming the strongest adventurer, suddenly think of shopping at Elf’s Home and come looking for Lin Da early in the morning, when Lulu and the others were still asleep?

The story began yesterday noon.

After receiving the 5 million Gold Coin sponsorship from Sunrise Fund, Lia’s backbone straightened up immediately.

She led her teammates to the Imperial Credit Bank with great pomp to purchase equipment.

While Aiko and the others were next door looking at jewelry, a pale-faced girl in a black dress, who looked very frail, came up to Lia.

Lia could clearly sense that the other person was a commoner, with no threat at all; it was the Minotaur guard in a suit behind her that gave her an unfathomable feeling.

“Miss Lia, if you keep this up, Lin Da is going to slip through your fingers,” said the girl in the black dress, who called herself Anna, with a sympathetic gaze.

Lia’s defensive stance was immediately broken, “I-I-I-I have no interest in Lin Da at all! It doesn’t matter to me if he gets cozy with a Beastman!”

“Then I might as well go help Miss Aiko. Oh, what a pity. I had a plan that could’ve helped you capture Lin Da with 100% certainty.”

“Wait a moment.”

Lia grabbed Anna’s wrist.

“If it’s free, I might as well listen,” she said.

So, at Anna’s suggestion, Lia went shopping at Elf’s Home and then spent a fortune at ‘Extreme Trim’ for a wash, cut and blow-dry. She slung on the white designer bag that Anna gave her, and before dawn, while the members of Luanwei Flower Villa were still in the land of dreams, she arrived downstairs at the Luanwei Flower Villa.

In short… Lia had come to steal a fling.
