“My dear big padded jacket, could you move a bit? You’re pressing down on my fabric,” Su Wanyu said smilingly as she pushed him.

“Right, wife, there are two pieces of dark-colored fabric here. When you get a chance, make cotton shawls for mom and dad; it can be our little token of affection.”

“Sure, I’ll do as you say.”

With the sewing machine, Su Wanyu spent less than a week making cotton clothes for the entire family.

As a fellow son, even though his older brother could make shawls from new cotton for their parents, he felt embarrassed that he could offer his parents nothing at all, his face flushing with shame.

Sun Lixia stared intensely at the new cotton clothes on Su Wanyu, her jealousy almost bursting through her throat and rushing out.

She suppressed her jealousy and asked sarcastically, “Big brother, you must still have quite a bit of money, right? Making clothes for your wife and daughter, and also shawls for our parents.”

Jiang Changhai grinned and asked, “Why? Are you thinking of helping to share the cost a bit?”
