Chapter 130: Chapter 130 Her Little Movement

After resting at Old Uncle Ge’s house for a good while and seeing that it was about time, the two went to the school to pick up Jiang Mianmian and together they went to eat at the state-owned restaurant.

Since they were preoccupied with doing business, the three of them ordered the quickest bowl of sauce noodles to fill their stomachs before heading straight to the movie theater.

At the movie theater, Jiang Changhai put down the bag of melon seeds and grabbed a big handful for Jiang Mianmian, “My girl, see if these are fragrant.”

After eating one, Jiang Mianmian gave her dad a thumbs-up and flattered, “Fragrant! Dad, you’re amazing, you’re good at everything!”

“Of course!”

Jiang Changhai never knew modesty, and said with a beaming smile, “If they’re tasty, let’s save some to bring back for your mom to try.”

...

“Okay.”

Jiang Mianmian nodded and then asked curiously, “Dad, how are we going to sell these melon seeds?”

“Ten cents a bowl,” answered Jiang Changhai as he took out a small bowl from the bag, which he had borrowed from Old Uncle Ge’s house.

Although he felt that ten cents a bowl for melon seeds was a bit expensive, Yu Cheng was confident they could sell them.

Considering that Yu Cheng was, after all, a young master from the Capital City who likely knew more than he did, Jiang Changhai didn’t object.

Worst comes to worst, if people found it too expensive, he would just sell them for less.

Then the three of them stood there, starting blankly at each other in the cold breeze, because nobody was coming to take even a glance.

There were quite a few people coming and going at the entrance of the movie theater, but it was dark and nobody knew what they were doing.

Seeing no one coming to buy, Jiang Mianmian felt a bit anxious; it was no good for business if they didn’t call out for customers!

She looked at her father, Jiang Changhai, whose face was so covered that only a pair of eyes showed, making him look hardly reputable at all.

Then she glanced at Yu Cheng, tall and cold, his whole being screamed “keep away from me.”

Finally, she turned towards the crowd, took a deep breath, and suddenly started crying out loudly, “Selling melon seeds! Tasty, fragrant melon seeds, the perfect match for watching a movie, only ten cents a bowl!”

Her crisp and pleasant voice immediately drew the attention of several people, who looked over in their direction.

Having called out for the first time, Jiang Mianmian didn’t feel embarrassed anymore and even started to attract customers, “Big brother, buy a bowl of melon seeds for the pretty lady.”

She was wearing a red cotton-padded jacket, with a hat and scarf, wrapped up tightly, revealing only a pair of big watery eyes.

Calling out in a crisp and tender voice, she seemed extremely adorable, and indeed, a couple of couples came over to buy melon seeds.

“Little sister, how do you sell these seeds?”

Jiang Mianmian sweetly replied, “Ten cents a bowl, I’ll fill it up for the pretty sister.”

“All right then, I’ll take a bowl.”

The people in town who could come to watch a movie were workers who were not short of money; ten cents a bowl for seeds was not considered expensive if bought occasionally and also allowed them to show off a bit in front of their dates.

“All right,” said Jiang Changhai as he deftly filled the bowl with seeds. “Here you go.”

With one customer came the next, and others followed suit to buy melon seeds.

Yu Cheng took care of collecting the money and casually maintained order to prevent anyone from bumping into Little Lamb.

While selling seeds, Jiang Changhai casually noticed his daughter’s little hands were red from the cold and asked Yu Cheng to hold his girl while collecting the money.

Two people are certainly warmer than one.

Jiang Mianmian, being held by someone other than an elder for the first time, felt a bit awkward.

But once she felt Yu Cheng’s burning warmth, she stopped worrying about that and even sneakily slipped her hands into his pockets to warm up.

Perceiving her little movement, Yu Cheng looked down, said nothing.

Many people were buying seeds, and some who had already entered the movie theater were waving at the entrance to buy; Jiang Changhai went over to deliver the seeds.

In that moment, Yu Cheng, holding Jiang Mianmian, suddenly said in a low voice, “I helped Uncle Jiang roast these seeds.”
