Chapter 130: Chapter 130 You are a Scoundrel

He never expected her to say that.

Xia Chengzong’s face turned pale, then red, red, then pale, but in the end, he stiffened his neck and coldly huffed, “Have you ever seen someone from Jianghu pay for their meal?”

He was planning not to pay.

Xia Chuyi glanced at him and asked, “Are you a hoodlum?”

Her tone was full of suspicion.

Xia Chengzong was so choked up he didn’t know whether to reply or not.

“Xia Chuyi!” he grimaced fiercely, threatening her, “Do you know what you’re saying?”

She chuckled lightly and countered, “Do you know what you’re doing?”

Stunned for a moment, Xia Chengzong hurriedly said, “What am I doing? My boss, Brother Qiang, just helped you solve a big problem! And you’re asking me what I’m doing?”

He had the look of her, the ungrateful girl, not knowing how to repay kindness.

With a cold snort, Xia Chuyi twirled the knife in her hand into an intricate pattern and slammed it onto the chopping board with a thud, “Trouble? What trouble? The trouble you caused in my shop?”

He must have forgotten that the “trouble” he referred to was himself and Brother Qiang.

“You… you’re the one who provoked others first, and they turned to Brother Qiang! We just helped them out,” Xia Chengzong wouldn’t admit it and defended himself.

“Oh, so after receiving benefits, you come to trouble a weak woman like me? Is that the kind of help you offer?” she said with a mild sarcasm.

“We didn’t…” Xia Chengzong tried to squirm his way out but found himself at a loss for words.

Suddenly, he realized she was right.

He and Brother Qiang were essentially there to bully a weak woman.

“Let me guess, there are only two possible reasons you’re here,” Xia Chuyi spoke calmly.

“One, to deliberately dine and dash and then cause trouble on purpose.”

“Two, to pretend you have stomachaches, headaches, and leg pains after eating and drinking, trying to scam and extort money from me.”

She analyzed each possibility, leaving Xia Chengzong wanting to stomp his feet in frustration yet unable to do so.

After all, these were indeed their original plans, and anything he did would only serve to further reveal his guilt.

“Xia Chengzong, the times of turmoil have passed, and this is an era of peace. Don’t think that by dressing up your antics in loyalty, you can pretend to be a knight-errant,” Xia Chuyi calmly added.

Xia Chengzong was so angry his chest heaved violently, and he desperately wanted to hit someone.

She was just short of pointing at his nose and calling him a hooligan.

But Xia Chuyi was still his sister, and he just couldn’t bring himself to lay a hand on her.

Most importantly, deep down he knew that everything she said was correct.

“What do you know? You have a high school education, and an uncle to pave the way for you, saying you can open a shop with just the blink of an eye.”

“Me? I’m not like you, I have to start everything from scratch, to build up from nothing.”

He stared intensely into her eyes, and finally couldn’t help but spill out the honest feelings he had been harboring for a long time.

Xia Chuyi looked at him and shook her head, “Forget it, if you don’t want to pay, then don’t.”

“Just don’t regret it,” she added with a hint of significance in her voice.

“What do you mean?” Xia Chengzu was startled.

Was he having terrible luck today, previously threatened by his employer, and now being threatened by the very person he’s extorted?

Did he really look like a hoodlum with no pride?

Xia Chuyi shrugged her shoulders, seemingly nonchalant, “It means nothing much.”

Xia Chengzong left with a darkened face, gritting his teeth, “I will pay you back for the money, someday!”

He had unexpectedly acknowledged the debt.

After declaring this fiercely, he flung his hand and stormed out of Xia Chuyi’s shop.
