Chapter 22: Using a Knife to Kill
In reality, it wasn’t just Cecil and Hou Liang who thought they were insane—even the audience shared the same sentiment.
【Oh my god, were they really married before?】
【This sounds exactly like something a psychotic neighbor would say—"Even in death, you have to stay with me." Damn, this is some deranged romance.】
【I get it now. One is like, "Even if you kill me, I’ll still love you," and the other is, "Even if you die, you still have to love me." If they aren’t husband and wife, it would be an absolute injustice.】
【Wait… am I actually shipping this? Sorry, my moral compass just got overpowered by my sense of aesthetics. Wuwuwu!】
【It’s fine, these two don’t have a moral compass either. They’re just crazy in love.】
【I ship it. I love it.】
【Honestly, this is the first time Bo Jingmo has actually acted properly. I remember watching his past roles—he’d take down everyone in five minutes flat. I’m impressed.】
【Lmao, true love spotted. Every time I try watching, I barely get into the plot before Bo Jingmo starts killing people.】
【But this time, he has a wife! No wonder he wasn’t into playing a couple with Xi Xi. Turns out, he likes this type. Honestly, I gotta admit, she is prettier than Jiang Xi.】【Can we not compare? They’re both gorgeous. Blocking the person above.】
【Looks aside, their personalities match perfectly, and that’s why we’re all shipping them.】
【For real, this is the first time I’ve shipped such an intense CP. They’re both insane.】
【Just joined, just started watching. Seems interesting. Gonna wait for the replay.】
And so, the Crazy Couple went viral in the most bizarre way, and viewership skyrocketed.
Nearly everyone in the audience had accepted the idea that Filia and Ye Jingyu were husband and wife. But at that moment, Hu Li, who had been kneeling on the ground, slowly raised her head. Her bloodless face twisted into a mocking smile, her voice dripping with contempt and disgust.
“Husband? What a joke.”
Her wet hair clung to her face, and her emotionless eyes locked onto Yu Li. “You’re just taking advantage of Young Master’s amnesia. Filia, you damn murderer. You’re shameless enough to claim as your husband the very man you killed with your own hands?”
“You think just because Young Master forgot, no one else knows what you did? You were never his wife. You killed him for his wealth!”
That statement was a bombshell, exploding instantly and sending shockwaves through the audience.
【Wait, what?! Is Hu Li telling the truth?】
【The CP I was shipping… is fake?!】
【This feels like getting dumped right after falling in love…】
【Alright, Filia, I see now. I was wrong to trust you.】
【No, no, no! Bo Jingmo, don’t regain your memories! You’re perfect just like this! I’ll never call you a simp again.】
Cecil, too, was shocked. His gaze snapped toward the golden-haired woman standing amidst the black mist. But she still had that ever-present smile, as if Hu Li exposing her was completely within her expectations.
Or… did she not care at all?
Fortunately, the ghosts’ attention was elsewhere, finally giving Cecil a moment to catch his breath. He quietly pulled out his phone, tapping a few times on the screen.
Once he was done, he exhaled in relief—only to look up and meet Yu Li’s gaze. His heart clenched, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.
But she merely glanced at him before looking away.
Did she not notice? Or was she deliberately letting him off?
Cecil remained on high alert, not daring to relax. Meanwhile, Yu Li laughed softly and spoke to Hu Li. “Since you’re calling me a murderer, why don’t you ask my husband?”
She lowered her gaze, her fingers gliding over the man’s arm, which rested around her waist. Her tone carried a tinge of grievance. “Ye Jingyu, she says we’re not husband and wife. Do you believe me or her?”
That vixen!
Hu Li was seething, grinding her teeth in fury. Now she understood why Da Dong had constantly complained about this woman. She really was insufferable!
Had she truly forgotten what she did?
“Filia! You venomous woman! Taking his money is one thing, but don’t forget—we’re all trapped here because of you!” Hu Li was livid, her skin shriveling up as if she’d been waterlogged for too long. A dense aura of death clung to her, and her hair grew longer and longer, making everyone’s skin crawl.
Her hair twisted like water snakes, lunging straight for Yu Li.
But before it could even brush the hem of her clothes, the black mist snapped through it without hesitation, cutting it to pieces. The severed strands wriggled on the ground before turning into a swarm of maggots, scattering everywhere in a grotesque mess.
Yu Li hadn’t even gotten a clear look before the man beside her gently covered her eyes.
“Don’t look.”
That familiar action made Yu Li freeze for a moment. Beneath his palm, her gaze dulled in surprise. But when she processed what had just happened, she chuckled softly.
Back then, during the car accident, he had also covered her eyes, telling her not to look.
And afterward… they both died.
But now…
“Young Master! This woman has been using you all along! Da Dong, me, and even you—we all died because of her! She trapped our souls here to consume our remaining life force!”
Hu Li’s frantic voice snapped Yu Li out of her thoughts. She blinked, pulling Bo Jingmo’s hand away, only to see Hu Li’s contorted face, pointing at her with pure hatred.
“She even resorted to dark sorcery, using runes to suppress us here, never allowing us to reincarnate! Just so she could prolong her own life! Even your soul is bound by something!”
Bo Jingmo’s expression didn’t change, but Cecil’s eyes flickered with shock.
Filia knows how to use runes?
He suddenly recalled the bag he had left on the sofa. His face darkened.
That woman… no way…
Yu Li leisurely pulled out a small white porcelain bottle from her pocket. She lifted it slightly, gesturing toward Hu Li with a smirk.
“You mean this?”
Hu Li’s eyes widened in horror.
Yu Li narrowed her eyes and flashed an innocent, harmless smile.
“Your Young Master gave it to me himself.”
Hu Li gritted her teeth in fury, glaring at Yu Li as if she wanted to devour her whole.
Then, she suddenly thought of something. Her eyes shifted, and a smug smile crept onto her face. “It doesn’t matter. Once Young Master remembers everything, your time will be up.”
As she spoke, a dark shadow appeared in her hands. Kneeling, she offered it to Bo Jingmo with reverence.
“Young Master, this is Da Dong’s soul. He acknowledged his own uselessness and willingly offers himself to you.”
To be fair, Da Dong and Hu Li were indeed loyal servants. Even Yu Li had to admit she was a little touched by their devotion.
But unfortunately, the ruthless Filia couldn’t let them have their way.
The black mist around Bo Jingmo surged, eager to devour Da Dong’s soul. But he held it back, his gaze flickering as he turned toward Yu Li.
She raised an eyebrow, then gently wrapped her arms around his neck. Her breath tickled his skin, and her voice carried a hint of dissatisfaction.
“Darling, are you sure you want to eat that? I don’t like them. Da Dong and the others… they all want me dead.”
She tilted her head, her gaze lazily sweeping over Hu Li, her expression tinged with amusement.
“How about this—you kill them for me first? That way, no one can stop us anymore.”
At that moment, not just Hu Li, but even the audience was stunned.
【Damn, that’s some next-level manipulation.】
【She’s literally making Bo Jingmo kill his most loyal subordinates. Filia, you’re the ultimate NPC.】
【Holy crap, Filia, you devil woman! I both love and hate you.】
【Looks like Filia is gonna be the final winner here.】
【Damn. Queen sh*t.】
【Uh… is anyone still following the main character?】
【Who cares?! Whoever drives the plot IS the main character!】
【Didn’t you see? The cameras are all on Filia. I hereby declare her the new protagonist!】
【The villain takes the stage, kicks out the MC, and steals the show!】
What do you think?
