Akame ga Kill: Starting with Dual Kamui

Chapter 151: Utter Scum

Mine was completely stunned—she never expected Blayn to ask something like that out of nowhere.

Even Chelsea was a little taken aback. Blayn's question was way too direct. If he had asked this to a girl he wasn’t close with, she’d probably find it off-putting right away.

“Y-You… what are you even saying?!”

Once she snapped out of it, Mine’s reaction was intense. Her face flushed bright red, the blush spreading all the way to her ears.

“I’m asking if you like me,” Blayn repeated seriously.

“I… I get that! What I mean is, why are you suddenly asking me this?” Mine asked in a low voice, still flustered.

“Because I want to make things clear. I don’t want to keep being confused about this,” Blayn explained solemnly.

“I see…”

Mine was still a little dazed but more or less understood his reasoning.

Her first instinct was to deny it out of sheer embarrassment, but she forced herself to hold back. This was an unexpected and special opportunity—being asked directly by Blayn was much easier than confessing on her own, sparing her the overwhelming embarrassment.

“Wait, let me get my thoughts in order first.”

She took a deep breath before mumbling, “I wouldn’t say I like you that much, but… I do like you a little… just a tiny bit…”

Even though she had made up her mind, she still couldn't shake her shyness and be completely honest.

“Even now, little Mine is still so stubborn…”

Chelsea, despite technically being a rival in this situation, couldn’t help but grumble in her mind.

“So you do like me?” Blayn ignored the roundabout way Mine had phrased it.

“…Y-Yeah…” Mine admitted, looking embarrassed.

“I understand. I’ll take responsibility—I won’t let you get hurt.”

Blayn placed his hands gently on Mine’s shoulders, his expression unusually serious.

Mine was left momentarily speechless.

“Then… you’re staying with me tonight.”

The redness on Mine’s face faded slightly as she spoke with unexpected seriousness.

“Hold on, what’s this flat-chested girl talking about? Blayn should be with me tonight,” Chelsea interjected, stepping forward.

“I am NOT flat-chested! Wait, were you also suddenly asked something like this by Blayn?” Mine asked, her curiosity piqued.

“Nope, I confessed to him first,” Chelsea said casually.

Though, she didn’t take credit for Mine’s situation—if anything, it was her confession that finally made Blayn start thinking properly.

“I see…” Mine nodded slightly.

“You two sneaky little kittens, did you really think I wouldn’t notice?”

A familiar voice suddenly came from behind them.

Both girls turned to see Esdeath standing there, a knowing smirk on her face.

Chelsea’s expression grew serious. Of all the “rivals” she had, Esdeath was undoubtedly the most dangerous.

It all came down to Esdeath’s personality—she did whatever she wanted without hesitation and wouldn’t think twice about using force if necessary.

“No need to be so on guard. You’re all people Blayn cares about, so I won’t harm you,” Esdeath said calmly. “But let’s get one thing straight—I have no intention of playing nice with you. Tonight, Blayn is mine.”

...

Of course, Mine and Chelsea refused to back down, and in the end, they all squeezed into Blayn’s room.

Naturally, under these circumstances, nothing was going to happen.

That night, Blayn ended up as a human pillow for Mine, Chelsea, and Esdeath.

The next day, Blayn still hadn’t forgotten what Chelsea had said the night before.

Since he had already decided to go all the way with this, he sought out the last person he had doubts about—Seryu.

He simply wanted to confirm something. If all of Seryu’s past actions were purely out of respect and admiration for him as her master, then he would continue treating their relationship as that of a normal master and disciple.

“Seryu, it seems like every time I come to see you, you're always training. You’re really dedicated,” Blayn remarked as he watched her once again in the middle of an intense session.

“I have to work twice as hard—I don’t want to fall further behind you, Master!”

Even though she was already drenched in sweat, Seryu was still full of energy and determination.

“But you should be careful not to overdo it,” Blayn said with concern. “Pushing yourself too hard won’t do you any good.”

“So, is there something you needed from me, Master? If there’s anything I can help with, I’ll do my best!” Seryu asked eagerly.

“I just wanted to clarify something, Seryu. How do you feel about me? Is it the kind of affection between lovers, or just the normal bond between master and disciple?”

As soon as she heard his question, Seryu froze as if her brain had shut down. Her expression went stiff, and for a long moment, she couldn’t respond.

It was obvious—this was not a question she had ever seriously considered before.

After what felt like forever, she finally spoke, albeit hesitantly.

“…If liking someone as a lover means feeling the way General Esdeath does, then I guess… I still just like you as my master.”

“I see… just as I thought,” Blayn said, unsurprised by her answer.

After all, Seryu had always acted differently around him compared to others.

“But, Master, haven’t you already…”

Seryu trailed off, voicing the concern in her heart.

"It’s fine. You all belong to me." Blayn said with a smile.

Since he had already made up his mind, there was no turning back.
