Chapter 790: 271. Jack Morgan joins the Tarot Society

Chapter 790: 271. Jack Morgan joins the Tarot Society

The United States is large, but the world is larger!

This statement somewhat moved Jack Morgan.

As previously mentioned, with Morgan’s influence, various organizations across America could easily join in if Morgan desired.

But Morgan also had his pride.

If I can stand as an organization on my own, why should I join others?

Moreover, in the eyes of the older Morgan, those so-called organizations seemed petty, focusing either on a single industry or only on domestic affairs within the United States.

This dissatisfaction prompted old Morgan to refrain from joining any American organizations, and naturally, Jack Morgan, who always took his father as a role model, thought the same.

Now Donnie suggested, “The United States is large, but the world is larger,” which reminded Jack Morgan of his father, old Morgan.

Old Morgan once said something similar, but never found like-minded allies, so he had to proceed slowly with this matter.

Now that Donnie had voiced the same sentiment, and even established the Tarot Society because of it.

“I believe the future United States will definitely grow stronger, but the resources of the United States are ultimately limited, whether it’s financial resources, mineral resources, or human resources, which is the same worldwide. But the world is vast and populous, signifying we have a much broader market.”

Donnie continued to persuade Jack Morgan.

“The world is far away, the United States is at hand!” Jack Morgan didn’t give Donnie an immediate definitive answer, but gave an ambiguous one instead.

Donnie, however, chuckled. He knew Jack Morgan was actually tempted; otherwise, he could have straight out rejected him.

“It’s not far anymore, now boarding a ship from the United States and arriving in Europe takes only five to six days, and it’s just a month and a half to Asia. Moreover, I believe as technology advances, this time will definitely continue to shrink.

Mr. Morgan, perhaps right now you only see the United States and Europe, but in fact, we can now have a global perspective. Even the United States has started to establish itself in East Asia. Why should we wait for the future?”

Jack Morgan slightly nodded his head but then realized this action was falling into Donnie’s pace. He laughed and said.

“Donnie, I must say the future you’ve painted is indeed very enticing, but this matter has such a huge impact, it could change Morgan’s direction of development. So we need to consider it carefully.”

Donnie nodded and said, “Of course, but Mr. Morgan, I won’t let your consideration stop me from acquiring Breton Bank!”

Jack Morgan nodded. At this point, whether or not Donnie acquired Breton Bank was not that important anymore, as Jack was now preoccupied with the idea of the entire world that Donnie had mentioned.

Jack Morgan left Donnie’s office.

As he said, Jack Morgan needed to think carefully about this matter.

However, what Jack Morgan didn’t notice was that, as he considered this matter, Dick and others in New York were becoming restless.

The fact that Jack Morgan was heading to Atlantic City was no secret.

Although their prior actions seemed very successful, Dick and the others were also worried.

Firstly, they were concerned that they had wanted Mellon and Morgan to pressure Donnie, but Mellon had quickly responded, unwilling to get involved.

So obviously, they pinned more of their hopes on Morgan.

Now that Jack Morgan was personally discussing the matter with Donnie in Atlantic City, it seemed to them that Morgan was already on their side.

Yet after three days in Atlantic City, there was no news from Jack Morgan. The only thing they knew was that during those three days Jack Morgan had met with Donnie several times and had long discussions.

This situation was beginning to make them nervous, hoping on one hand that Jack Morgan could convince Donnie, yet fearing on the other that Jack Morgan might be persuaded by Donnie!

In this situation, Dick began a self-rescue mission by frantically buying up shares of Breton Bank. The objective was to ensure that, even without external help, he could retain Breton Bank.

So during this time, Dick was spending money like water!

On the other hand, Laze Madison and Archibald Roosevelt were also madly acquiring shares of the Sinclair Oil Corporation, harboring the same thoughts as Dick.

It’s better to hold more cards in hand than to place all the chips on others!

“I’m very curious!”

Jack Morgan returned to Donnie’s office today but didn’t talk about the Tarot Society. Instead, he brought up the matter of Breton Bank and Sinclair Oil Corporation.

“Recently, Dick, Laze Madison, and Archibald Roosevelt have been acting wildly, while you haven’t made a move, which is out of character for you.

Unless you have other plans in mind?”

Donnie smiled and said, “If you agree to our cooperation, Mr. Morgan, I would naturally tell you my plans. But as of now, we are not partners but competitors. Hence, Mr. Morgan, I will not respond to your speculations!”
