Chapter 797: 273. Sell Sinclair Oil Corporation’s stock_2

Donnie calmly told them and then walked out of the meeting room.

Only at this moment did the other shareholders in the meeting room understand that Donnie was retaliating for their previous suppression of Pandora Oil Company during the competition for the Baku Oil Field!

Donnie didn’t leave the headquarters of Sinclair Oil Corporation. After coming out of the meeting room, he went to the president’s office of Sinclair Oil.

“Haha!”

Upon seeing Donnie, Archie Roosevelt embraced him with great joy, “My dear Donnie, I can’t thank you enough for today. Without your help, we could never have shut those people up so easily!”

“By the way, how is Alice doing? I should find some time to visit her too!”

Donnie sat down on the sofa and said with a smile, “She’s doing well, let’s talk about the important matters at hand!”

Laze Madison and Archie Roosevelt exchanged glances. Archie Roosevelt then asked Donnie, “What’s the matter?”

Donnie spoke astonishingly, “I want to sell all my shares in Sinclair Oil Corporation. If the two of you can take them over, we can sign the transfer agreement right now at the current stock price of Sinclair Oil. If you’re not willing to take them, I’ll sell them to those shareholders!”

Laze Madison and Archie Roosevelt were once again shocked. They hadn’t expected Donnie to sell his Sinclair Oil shares at this time.

It was understood that, given the current situation, the stock price of Sinclair Oil Corporation still had the potential to soar, especially when the deal with the Soviet Union over the Baku Oil Field was officially signed.

“Donnie, keeping these stocks, they would increase in value soon. Why sell them now?” Archie Roosevelt asked, puzzled.

Donnie leaned on the sofa and said with a laugh, “Acquiring Breton Bank is not an easy task, especially since Dick, with your two’s help, got most of Breton Bank’s shares, making my acquisition even harder!”

Neither of them took Donnie’s irony to heart—they didn’t have the time to consider these things now because Donnie’s decision presented them with a dilemma.

Naturally, they wanted to take over Donnie’s shares in Sinclair Oil Corporation.

But, they simply didn’t have that much cash on hand!

They had nearly drained their own cash reserves to acquire shares in Sinclair Oil Corporation. Wanting to take over the shares from Donnie was now more a matter of desire than possibility!

The problem was, if they didn’t take them, the directors of Sinclair Oil Corporation would, and if they secured the shares from Donnie, they would gain more influence than Laze Madison and Archie Roosevelt.

Now that the directors of Sinclair Oil Corporation were aware of their predicament, facing such traitors, they were helpless; however, once they had a solution, they were likely to be ousted by the board from the management of Sinclair Oil Corporation, retaining only the status of a shareholder and director!

That was not an outcome they wished to see.

Just as Sinclair Oil Corporation was about to become one of the largest oil companies in America with the acquisition of the Baku Oil Field, they found themselves facing an insurmountable problem.

“Donnie, we definitely want the shares of Sinclair Oil Corporation that you hold, but given our situation, it’s impossible for us to come up with so much cash all at once. I hope you can give us more time. Once the deal with the Soviet Union is completed, we will immediately come up with the cash!” Archie Roosevelt pleaded, hoping Donnie would give them more time to raise funds.

After listening, Donnie chuckled with a bit of sarcasm, “Al, don’t you know that by that time, the stock price of Sinclair Oil Corporation won’t be the same as it is now? And I’ve already made it very clear, I need the cash to acquire the shares of Breton Bank. So, you have only three days. If you cannot come up with the cash in three days, I will sell all my shares in Sinclair Oil Corporation to the other directors and retail investors in the secondary market!”

Archie Roosevelt went pale, realizing at that moment that Donnie hadn’t considered him family after all; he was simply negotiating a business deal with him.

“Donnie, you’ve always been working hard to expand your influence in the oil industry. Shares in Sinclair Oil Corporation are a very important chip for you. Why would you sell them now?” Laze Madison also attempted to persuade Donnie.

Donnie waved his hand and said, “Times change. The oil sector is important, but I already have Pandora Oil Company and HEST Pipeline Transportation Company. There will always be opportunities to develop in the oil industry in the future, but Breton Bank is different. I need Breton Bank now!”

At that point, Donnie stood up, “Alright, gentlemen, there’s no need to persuade me further on this matter. It’s settled. Three days. If you cannot give me a firm answer within three days, I’ll have to sell my shares in Sinclair Oil Corporation to someone else. Of course, after you leave here, I’m also going to have a chat with those directors.”
