America Tycoon: The Wolf of Showbiz

Chapter 937 - 871: Have Some Shame_2

Ray Parker couldn't help but laugh, "Well over half of the female stars in the circle aren't interesting to you."

Johnson lifted his glass and clinked it with his friend's, "Can you accept a woman with a chest smaller than yours?"

Ray Parker poured more drinks for both of them, "Here's to you finding someone bigger than you."

Johnson took another sip of his drink.

The two chatted and drank, and soon the bottle was nearly empty.

As the alcohol took effect, Johnson's mood improved significantly, and he started to talk about movie matters.

Ray Parker was somewhat troubled and asked, "Will there be another 'Special Forces' movie?"

Johnson shrugged, "Who knows, Paramount Pictures said it didn't do well commercially." He glanced at his friend across from him, "Man, you played a masked character, never showing your face once in the whole movie."

Ray Parker, who had also drunk quite a bit, scratched his head, "I'm also an action director and stunt double. A few years back, I was way ahead of Chad Stahelski. In the same crew, Chad could only be my assistant."

He shook his head with a sigh, "Look at him now; Chad's a top action movie director with a net worth of tens of millions of US dollars, while what about me? My career is still crap."

Johnson said, "You and I are alike, both lacking that one great opportunity."

Speaking of which, he recalled the script he had read today and, for some reason, felt that if it were made into a movie starring himself, it would be even more successful than 'Hercules.'

Such a strange intuition, inexplicable and indescribable, has been felt by many successful movie stars.

After another round, Ray Parker picked up the bottle intending to pour more, but paused for a moment, his eyes captivated by a woman walking towards them.

The woman wore a dark, short coat with a tight white T-shirt underneath, highlighting her enormous assets in such a way that made Ray Parker unconsciously think of Jennifer Connelly on a carousel.

To be precise, even more pronounced than Jennifer Connelly.

Ray Parker gestured with his chin, "Dwayne, there's someone bigger than you."

In the time it took to speak, Alexandra Daddario swiftly walked past their booth and sat down diagonally across from them, pulling out her phone to send a message.

Now, Dwayne was seated diagonally across from Alexandra.

This woman, with husky-like ice-blue eyes, was perfect in both figure and facial features according to Dwayne's aesthetics.

Dwayne recognized her—Alexandra Daddario.

The woman rumored to have been involved with Martin Davis.

Dwayne thought about going over to make conversation but hesitated.

Ray Parker's idea, however, was very simple, "If you're interested, just go over there and get her contact details."

Dwayne lifted his glass, downed the drink in one gulp, took out his cell phone, and walked over.

Before he even arrived, he put on his signature smile – a smile that was professionally designed and trained to inspire trust and security.

The Dwayne of early days, compared to the Dwayne now, appeared to be two different people.

When he first entered Hollywood, Dwayne seemed aggressive.

Now, he seemed like a naive, upright, and strong neighborly uncle.

"Good evening, Alexandra," Dwayne greeted her with a smile.

Alexandra nodded her head, "Hello."

Dwayne, with some tact, said, "So, I'm preparing for a movie that needs a female lead with a particularly outstanding appearance. When I saw you walk by me just now, I felt like you might be a fit."

He invited her with a grin, "Could I get your contact information? When we start casting, I'd like to invite you to audition."

Before meeting Martin, Alexandra might not have refused, but having Martin help her land leading roles in several films broadened her perspective, and she declined with a smile, "I'm fully booked for the next two years."

Dwayne's smile stiffened slightly; ordinarily, he would have just walked away, but after encountering rejection in the afternoon and having drunk quite a bit, his thoughts were not as usual.

He persisted, "It's always good to have one more option."

Alexandra said, "Thanks, but no need."

However, Dwayne didn't leave and kept pressing the issue.

At the entrance of the bar, Leonardo and Nicholson walked in with their female companions.

Following Leonardo was the Australian actress Margot Robbie.

Nicholson had brought not Jennifer Lawrence, but his daughter Lorraine.

Leonardo quickly caught up to Nicholson ahead of him and asked, "Why did you bring Lorraine here?"

Nicholson raised an eyebrow, deliberately saying, "Of course, to cultivate feelings between her and Martin, so they can marry soon."

Lorraine rolled her eyes in resignation, "Can't you three cause trouble without dragging me into it?"

Nicholson said, "There's no one else left to mess with, so it has to be Martin now."

Lorraine said, "Because the three of you have such bad reputations, no one wants to mess with you."

Margot Robbie interjected, "Isn't that Martin's date Alexandra Daddario over there? Seems like someone is bothering her."

"Martin, that bastard, won't be here for a while; let's go have a look," said Leonardo, as he began walking forward.

Nicholson followed close behind.

Lorraine, out of habit from the past few years, took out her phone and opened the camera app without hesitation.

Mainly because the Trio of Scoundrels would often stir up trouble, and any hesitation could mean missing out on a chance to make a hefty sum of pocket money.

...

Faced with the relentlessly drunken Johnson, Alexandra was growing impatient and finally said directly, "Please show some self-respect!"

Johnson, his head spinning from the alcohol, sobered up for a moment. Just as he was about to say something to save face, someone quickly approached from behind.

An old man with a potbelly, slicked-back hair, and wearing sunglasses in the bar stepped between Johnson and Alexandra.

Nicholson had a long history in the industry and was a mascot for both the industry and the Oscars. Seeing this muscular guy pestering his friend's lover, he naturally didn't speak kindly, "Buddy, can't you hear this lady repeatedly rejecting you? Have some decency."

The appearance of Nicholson and Leonardo had already drawn countless eyes. Many people turned their heads, all looking this way.

In the full view of the public, being told to his face that he lacked decency, Johnson's face struggled to maintain composure: "I'm inviting Miss Daddario to play a role!"

He explained, looking condescendingly at the slightly hunched Nicholson, "Mind your words!"

Ray Parker, sensing trouble, immediately came over to Johnson's side.

Leonardo also hurried over, "Harassing a lady like this is not the act of a gentleman, you should apologize to her."

Lorraine found a good angle and skillfully used her phone to capture the scene.

Margot Robbie looked back at the entrance of the bar and saw Martin coming in. She quickly waved in his direction.

Martin saw what was happening and noticed the bald-headed, nearly bursting muscular Johnson, and he quickly ran over.

The sound of his footsteps attracted even more attention.

In the eyes of many, Hollywood stars were generally seen as a group with money and leisure but low class.

This might not be the case anywhere else, but it was almost universally acknowledged in the most famous nightclubs in Los Angeles.

Hollywood stars causing conflicts or fights over too much alcohol or other issues were too common.

Avalon had already grown accustomed to such things and didn't immediately intervene.

They were experienced, knowing it wasn't too late for the bar staff to appear after the anger had really erupted from both sides.

The compensation could be demanding, and there was no worry that fighting or arguing would affect the business, it could even draw more people.

In this moment, with the Trio of Scoundrels all present, the onlookers were extremely excited, many even crowding in, eager for some juicy drama.

Martin arrived next to Leonardo and glanced at Daddario across from him, asking, "What's going on?"

Leonardo got straight to the point, "This asshole was harassing Alexandra."

Daddario nodded at Martin from across.

Martin's gaze turned towards Johnson, his tone firm, "Apologize to her."

"I'm just inviting Miss Daddario for a role." Surrounded by people, there was no way Johnson would apologize under such circumstances, especially with Martin's tone, which didn't sit well with him. Fueled by liquor, he couldn't help but retort, "I remember your girlfriend is Miss Elizabeth Olsen, right, Martin? Since when did she change?"

Johnson wasn't afraid of a fight, not to mention himself, Ray Parker was a British martial arts champion.
