Chapter 697: Chapter 349: David is Revived_2

David shrugged. Indeed, the “faked death” operation had been his own arrangement all along.

When he first heard that he was about to be assassinated, he called for Elvis and told him his plan, asking if the other party could help set the stage.

After all, the CIA started from planning, assassinating, gathering intelligence, and organizing all sorts of clandestine operations. Such sleights of hand were mere child’s play to them.

So, as David wanted to plan this, Elvis didn’t hesitate much and agreed.

The rest was easy.

From the moment Freemasonry’s assassin arrived in Salem City, he was under tight surveillance by Elvis’s team.

...

Once the assassin had planted the bomb in the hotel, Elvis immediately sent people to the suite, placing a jammer next to the bomb to ensure that David wouldn’t be killed by a premature detonation when he returned.

Moreover, the CIA had opened a secret passage in that suite and prepared a body.

After finishing his activities and lunch, David stepped into the suite and immediately slipped through the opened passage to the floor below, then quietly left the hotel to come to this CIA safe house.

After that, the bomb successfully exploded, firefighters found human remains in the suite, and since he had been hiding and not showing his face, the whole world naturally believed he was dead.

There were mainly three reasons why David planned this fake death.

Firstly, since Freemasonry had already employed assassination tactics, even if he could narrowly escape this time, there was no guarantee he wouldn’t be targeted again.

And if he really did die by accident, he was curious to see how the Internal Revenue Service would react and if they would take revenge on his behalf.

Or… seeing that he was now dead and no longer of value, they might just downsize the issue and no longer pursue it.

Secondly, according to the data previously gathered by the CIA, Ansa Group, Illuminati, and Freemasonry had already mobilized many people to operate on this matter after his death.

Of course, these people would only take action once they saw he was dead. If he were still alive, they naturally wouldn’t surface.

So, he could only fake his death, thereby identifying which members of these three major forces came forward, touching the bottom of these three forces and saving future efforts.

Lastly, the Black Tax Bill had faced the risk of being revoked several times, but with his direct intervention, it had survived each crisis.

And because of his presence, many people, or rather, many legislators, didn’t dare openly oppose him.

But once he was dead, things could change unpredictably.

Some might even restart the draft bill to curry favor with Freemasonry after his death.

His fake death was also a means to observe the reactions of these legislators, to see which ones could be utilized and which should be removed.

This way, he could prepare for promoting another bill!

As a person, some might say that in faking his death, he deceived not only Freemasonry, Ansa people, and the Illuminati but also the nation’s public.

Among these public, there were a vast number of David’s fans.

By pulling off such a stunt, wasn’t he afraid of diminishing the enthusiasm of these fans and provoking their dislike?

David had long since prepared a strategy for this.

He would hold a press conference and explain to the public that he had preemptively discovered an assassination plot against him and that faking his own death was a necessary measure to unravel the mystery and identify the mastermind behind the scenes, believing that the public would understand.

“Enough, Elvis. Talk about something I want to know!”

David popped a chip into his mouth, smacking his lips as if enjoying some drama unfold.

“The announcement from the Internal Revenue Service was something you must have seen on TV. Your higher-ups have stated that the Storm Tax Inspection Operation will continue, and they specifically mentioned giving ‘special attention’ to Wall Street. But according to the intelligence I’ve gathered, Freemasonry isn’t concerned at all. They’re well aware that Donald, the overall commander, isn’t you. He can’t really harm Wall Street. It’s nothing more than venting frustration…”

In fact, David was quite satisfied with the IRS’s move.

Throughout human history, who could say how many policies driven by officials had vanished following their deaths?

Now, though he was officially deceased, the IRS publicly declared their intention to continue with the operation. Not only did this save face for him, but there was no doubt that it also carried undertones of revenge against Freemasonry.

“Additionally, it must be said that your Tax Bureau Chief has some backbone. Despite being pressured by the three major forces, he still ordered the New York State armed forces to deploy. These past two days have seen quite a few fighter deployments around Freemasonry’s base on Senado Island. The fish around there have seen better days, for sure. They must not be sleeping too well these days.”

“Oh?”

David’s expression shifted. To prevent his faked death from leaking, he had been staying in the safe house, and all his information had come via TV media reports.

But news like the IRS dispatching armed forces to bomb fish around Senado Island would certainly not be made public by the IRS, and Freemasonry would be even less likely to reveal it, all for the sake of reputation. Without media coverage, he naturally wouldn’t know of it.

“Besides that, the undercurrents in America have been quite strong since your ‘death.’ As for the list you wanted, thanks to certain people continually ‘slipping up,’ I’ve compiled a preliminary count. Take a look.”

David took the list that Brod handed over and as his eyes scanned the names, his gaze sharpened.

After his ‘death,’ there were several high-profile American political figures who had pressured the White House, including the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of State… over a dozen in all. No small feat.

But on the other hand, he couldn’t help but wonder what expressions they’d have if they knew he was still alive.

Pushing his thoughts aside, David asked, “Oh right, what stance did Gavin take?”

Since he had survived the assassination, the importance of having contingencies had become even clearer to him.

With someone like Elvis here at the CIA, and even though the FBI’s main trade wasn’t primarily intelligence work, their capability in the area was strong.

According to his plans, it was important to support a person like Gavin. It would be beneficial, not just for his future safety but for other aspects of his work as well.

“After the incident, everyone knew Gavin worked for you. His life has been tough since your ‘death,’ but he hasn’t shown any inclination to bow down to Freemasonry or anyone else for that matter. Instead, he cited health reasons and took a temporary leave of absence.”

David was relatively pleased with this. As long as Gavin hadn’t immediately shown a treacherous side after his ‘death,’ he was worth mentoring.

“But… well, those three guys you planted to take over the Murdoch Media Group didn’t have Gavin’s backbone. After hearing of your ‘demise,’ they quite harmoniously sought out Freemasonry, willing to replace Murdoch and bow down to them. As a result, they’ve even been invited to their celebration dinner in New York tomorrow…”

“Wait… celebration dinner?”

Elvis smacked his head, then added, “Forgot to tell you, Freemasonry is hosting a celebration dinner in New York tomorrow. They’ve also invited members from the Illuminati and Ansa Group. However, the intelligence I’ve received indicates that this dinner isn’t just about celebrating their success in assassinating you. Freemasonry actually wants to discuss overturning your previous tax policies aimed at Silicon Valley and all Jewish companies during this dinner, so as to reclaim their benefits!”
