On the edge of the Fairy Spring Peach Forest, Su Shu was squatting in front of the tiny miniature peach tree, wondering if she should give it a try.

Just as her hand grasped the trunk of the Little Peach Tree, she suddenly felt her body sway, and before she could react, she tilted to the side and fell to the ground.

“What’s happening?”

The earth shook and the sky rocked. A few seconds later, Su Shu finally came to her senses, realizing it might be an earthquake. She reflexively ran to a nearby thick tree and clung to it tightly, then immediately shouted loudly for Liangzi and Dongzi.

Whether hugging the tree was useful or not, Su Shu didn’t know, but at that moment in the mountains, surrounded by forests with countless interlocking tree roots underfoot, it wouldn’t collapse and break as severely as in urban areas.

As the sky moved and the earth shook, the emergency responses from her previous life instantly tensed her spirit, and her heart was tremendously shocked.

...

How could the earthquake have come so soon?

Wasn’t there still a month left? Had the apocalypse come early?

In her momentary distraction, Su Shu had not noticed that due to her earlier tension, something extra was now in her hand.

By the time she realized it, the originally short and frail peach tree had already been ripped out from the ground by the roots.

Su Shu: Um…

It was an accident, definitely an accident. She hadn’t done it on purpose.@@novelbin@@

But since it was already uprooted, she obviously couldn’t replant it right there and then. Not knowing if her life was in danger, Su Shu didn’t have time to think too much. Since she had already pulled it out, she decided to keep it for now. Thus, she put the Little Peach Tree into her space, which had a preservation feature. She was too busy to tend to it now and would plant it again later when everything was safe.

In the initial few minutes, aftershocks continued, one by one, one by one. Su Shu carefully observed for a while and realized that although it was an earthquake, their area didn’t seem to be severely affected. She immediately let go of the peach tree and went to find Liangzi and Douzi to make sure they were both safe.

Thinking of returning to the village, Su Shu was concerned about Xiao’ai who was still in the village. She didn’t know how Peng Village at the mountain base had fared during the earthquake minutes ago or if Xiao’ai was alright.

Liangzi and Douzi, also terrified by the sudden earthquake, were pale and bewildered. Fortunately, Su Shu was calm. Upon hearing her decision to go down the mountain, they followed her to check on their family members.

In the first moment of crisis, the first thing we all think about is that I need to go home, I want to be with my family.

Descending the mountain amidst continuous aftershocks was very dangerous, a fact Su Shu was aware of, but she couldn’t rest easy knowing Xiao’ai was down there.

To ensure safety, she again observed the situation of the aftershocks with Liangzi and Douzi and, once it seemed safe, the three of them quickly ran down towards Peng Village.

Even if they fell during the journey, the three helped and protected each other on the way back to the village.

Luckily, as Fairy Spring was close to the village, frequent but mild aftershocks occurred along their way back, which were not fatal. Being young, it didn’t take them long to reach the village.

Just as they arrived, a sudden intense shake of the mountain behind them was followed by a deep rumbling sound. Hearing it made their hearts tremble.

Below the mountain, Peng Village was completely different from its appearance early in the morning.

With clouds of dust everywhere and despite many houses not having collapsed, the cracked walls and the panicked people all showed the ravages of the earthquake, wrenching Su Shu’s heart as if it were caught in her throat.
