Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies

Dong Lin's eyes turned bright when she heard Bai Meiyue's request. She nodded and agreed at once. "Sure, but are you sure? These things don't cost much."

Though the seafood that she sold was really good, Dong Lin knew that it was not worth much when compared to a crocodile skin bag.

Of course, Bai Meiyue knew this as well. She didn't rush to say that the seafood that Dong Lin was selling was something rare in the apocalypse; instead, she nodded and said, "Well, that's true. But because of the restrictions, I can only take a few things along with me if I want more than one item. Since that is the case, why don't you add me to your contacts? Can you send me the seafood worth the bag later on?"

Bai Meiyue knew that she was being a bit selfish. After all, she hadn't given anything for this handbag, but then again, after living and surviving in the apocalypse for two lifetimes, Bai Meiyue had more or less given up on the very concept of kindness.

Even if the value of this handbag was lower than a few pennies in the apocalyptic world, it was still useful in other dimensions. Since that was the case, Bai Meiyue didn't think that there was anything wrong with her. She was only taking the worth of this luxury handbag.

Of course Dong Lin had nothing against it. The request was feasible and under the regulations of the barter system. She agreed with Bai Meiyue's request and exchanged the barter contact with her.

Once the barter exchange was done, Bai Meiyue returned to her room with the great haul. She packed all the packages in her space pocket. However, just as she dropped low to gather the cage of the two pheasants that she had exchanged earlier, Bai Meiyue didn't notice the red core that she had extracted from the mutated dog earlier rolling down on the floor, right in front of Ciyi's cage.

After fetching the cage of the two pheasants, she walked out of the room. The two pheasants had grown not only fat but also had laid down a lot of eggs. Now that they had laid so many eggs, Bai Meiyue only needed to separate the two pheasants and place the eggs that they had laid in the incubators that she had brought earlier.

She happily hummed, thinking about the seafood feast that she was going to have later on.

But before she could take the last step, there was a loud boom, which almost caused Bai Meiyue to slip right down to the bottom of the stairs.

"What the?" Bai Meiyue blinked her eyes and turned to look at the door of her penthouse just as Bai Zhan and Bai Jixuan rushed out of their rooms. They looked at Bai Meiyue who was on the first floor and said to her, "What's going on? What was with that loud bang?"

"I don't know," Bai Meiyue replied. She then turned to look at the front door and said, "But I am going to find out soon." Who dared to cause trouble right in front of her door?

She strode out of the house without looking behind her. Her two brothers exchanged a look with one another before chasing right after Bai Meiyue. As soon as they stepped out, they smelled the scent of burnt clothes and blood.

Bai Meiyue's eyes flickered and she rushed down to the end of the corridor, only to see Lei Qian sliding down the wall with Bai Feng standing in front of him.

"What's going on?" she asked sharply. Her eyes flocked to Bai Feng and Lei Qian, though she knew that the two men had some differences but from the looks of it, Bai Meiyue was sure that Bai Feng was actually trying to kill Lei Qian!

"Yueyue, go back." Bai Feng's eyes were red as he stared at Lei Qian with murderous eyes. This bastard— he never thought that the one who ruined his sister was Lei Qian; if he knew then, he would have peeled a layer of skin off this man's body.

"I am not going back." Bai Meiyue stepped forward and stepped between the two men and frowned. "What do you think you are doing? Why did you go crazy suddenly?"

"Yueyue—"

"Yueyue, go back," Lei Qian said to Bai Meiyue as he got to his feet. He wiped the blood trickling down from the corner of his mouth and smiled at Bai Meiyue before saying, "It's nothing. Your brother is only teaching me a lesson that I deserve."

"Lesson?" Bai Meiyue mused as she turned to look at Bai Feng before her gaze fell on Bai Xue, who hid right behind Bai Feng and understood what was going on. She pursed her lips and said after an angry pause, "Whatever she told you, it's all a lie."

As soon as she spoke up for Lei Qian, Bai Feng turned his head and looked at Bai Meiyue with a frown on his face.

"Wasn't this bastard the one who forced you?" He asked.

Bai Xue also decided to chime in between, "That's right, sister. There is no need for you to suffer under this man. So what if he slept with you when you were drugged? there is no need to pin to one tree. This is not the old times."

Her words amused Bai Meiyue so much that she ended up bursting into laughter. She clapped her hands and said, "It seems like just because you got the backing of some ability users, you have gained a bit of confidence."

"Sister—"

"Stop!" Bai Meiyue raised her hand and glared at the woman. She said, "First of all, my mother only gave birth to one daughter and that's me. I have no sister, especially one who schemes behind my back and steals the fiancé of her sister."

"Yueyue, what are you saying?" Bai Feng turned to look at Bai Meiyue and stopped her from escalating the matter. They were here to deal with Lei Qian and not cause a rift between their family.
