Chapter 1842 Amaro Frustration
Chapter 1842 Amaro Frustration
The battle was over with an overwhelming win by the Hurakan Legion, but no one left the wall of the frontier. The top wall of the frontier was packed with people, and in the center of it was filled with one thousand Royal Knights from the Hurakan Kingdom.
The Royal Knight was not only renowned in the kingdom, but the name was what made The Hurakan Kingdom feared. The Hurakan Legion and the Royal Knight, the two main forces that made the other factions and alliance fought thrice to fight them. There was a distance between the Royal Knights even the soldiers from the Hurakan Legion did not dare get too close to the Royal Knights.
Commander Edson was the only one standing amidst the Royal Knight, and everyone looked in one direction, far further from the wall where the two dragons were. They watched a pile of dead bodies disappear as a being was summoned. They could not feel the summoned being's aura, but the phenomenon of the summoning was quite daunting.
Amaro did not look away even once, locking his gaze at the summon. Most of them were from the Calamity, and he saw a few of them were old soldiers from the Hurakan Legion. He got to know Tang Shaoyang, a Spirit Contractor.
The Spirit Contractor usually used the body sacrifices to summon the spirit with unfinished business whether it was a vengeance or a dream they wanted to achieve. It was weird to see a calamity getting summoned with that context, but his heart ached each time he saw a soldier with the Hurakan Legion's old armor design.
It told him those people died with regret, and as The King's right, he felt responsible. He took a part in sending them here, and it was his idea to create the Hurakan Legion after having a discussion with The King. At the same time, he noticed a group of eleven skeletons, not far from the Tang Shaoyang.
The skeleton did the same, summoning more skeletons from the void creature's corpses.
"Tang Shaoyang called them The Skelly Family, and they are the leader of the Skeleton Army. From what I found, they lost three thousand skeletons because Tang Shaoyang summoned them in the middle of the void creatures. In terms of individual power, our soldiers are stronger, but if it's an actual battle…" Commander Edson paused as he recalled how the skeleton army maneuvered in the battle, "I am not confident to win."
"So, he is basically an army by himself and might be stronger than the Hurakan Legion," Amaro chuckled, shaking his head, "And you tried to break your agreement with him? Are you really going to bring down the whole legion to fight an administrator?"
He could not understand Edson at all. Edson gave Tang Shaoyang a high evaluation, even admitting that he was not confident about killing Tang Shaoyang. And yet, Edson not only did not try to please the Chief Administrator, but he tried to fight Tang Shaoyang by breaking their agreement.
Commander Edson felt stupid when Amaro pointed it out, shaking his head, "They persuaded me. I am afraid that Tang Shaoyang will become too strong for us to handle and become a threat to the Hurakan Legion."
"So, what's your solution? Killing him?" Amaro became even more frustrated the more he heard the actual reason behind Edson's move. He frowned deeper, recalling a report he read before coming here, "From the Imperial Investigator's report, it said that he is a candidate for the next Executive Administrator. It means those ancient beings in the administrators are backing him up, and you want to kill him? Are you trying to instigate another war against the administrator or what?"
Amaro raised his hand, no longer wanting to hear any lame excuses, "Okay, that's enough from you, Edson. This is getting ridiculous," He shook his head in frustration, "If you know he is strong, then you should befriend him, and get closer to him, and we don't know that we might need his help in the future. It's not like he showed an outright hostility toward the Hurakan Kingdom…"
The Legate of the Royal Knight paused as he came to a realization, "Good. If he didn't have any hostility toward us before, he might now. I am not surprised if he would be hostile toward us after all the bullshit you pull. The administrator will stop him from making a hostile move toward us, but it will be different if we meet him in the Dimensional Tower. All are equal inside the Dimensional Tower."
Amaro no longer had the energy to hear anything from Edson, signaling the younger men not to talk. His eyes glued on the scene before him. Piles after piles disappeared, and he saw more soldiers, and he even recognized one of the armor. A commander who died in this frontier, fighting the king and the void creature.
In his head, Amaro was counting how much spirit Tang Shaoyang summoned as well. He could understand why the other alliances and factions were afraid of Tang Shaoyang. The Chief Administrator summoned one hundred and seven spirits, and this would be the last pile sacrifice. He saw the black tiger's body getting sacrificed along with a tall pile of void creatures' dead bodies.
Everything turned black as a shadow engulfed the whole frontier, and it reached Arnoit City. It sent a wave of panicked cries at the sudden change. The commanders command their army to pull their swords.
Amaro was one of a few who was calmed down because the shadow could obstruct his vision. He saw a creature made of shadow in front of Tang Shaoyang, resembling a similar black tiger. The black tiger was having a conversation with the dragon, and he could not hear them. He knew Tang Shaoyang purposely put a sound barrier so no one could hear. His eyes locked on the shadow, and the shadow noticed his gaze as well.
The black tiger grinned, showing a wicked smile in response. Amaro took a deep breath and said, "Just in case, we should be ready for a fight."
Commander Edson was at ease because he trusted Amaro's judgment, but his face changed when he heard the warning. His hand tensed up, and the Royal Knights took out their weapon.
Amaro did not know what happened, but it seemed the tiger reached an agreement with Tang Shaoyang and the black tiger turned into a black orb before entering the dragon's head. Along with the black dragon, Tang Shaoyang called back all the remaining spirits and the skeleton army.
Only then did the shadow disappear, and many of them covered their eyes because of the sun. Even though it was not long, it still affected their eyes and took them some time to adjust.
Commander Edson opened his eyes, slowly getting back his vision. There were no more dragons, no more skeletons, and no any other monsters. All of them disappeared along with the shadow, including the ice dragon. Tang Shaoyang's original team walked back to the frontier.
Amaro let out a sigh of relief as it told him that Tang Shaoyang did not have an intention to fight the frontier. He glanced at the second Alliance Army, "Keep a watch on the volunteer army! I don't want them to do anything stupid!"
Commander Edson immediately moved as he straight went to Jeden Siel Alliance. He would not let the Vigamaur Dgaror do something stupid because of their hatred toward a dragon.
Amaro jumped off the wall and approached Tang Shaoyang with a gentle smile, "Congratulations on your successful summons. Do you have time for us to chat?"
Tang Shaoyang shook his head, "It's better for me and my team to leave right away. But if you have something to say, then say it right now."
He had a hunch that the alliance army might try to do something if he stayed longer here. It was not that he was afraid of them. He wanted to avoid making an enemy of the Hurakan Kingdom. He could no longer trust the Hurakan Legion and the Hurakan Kingdom to keep things down after what happened just now. He was afraid that they might feel threatened after the Spirit Summoning and might try something here.
"I guess that's better for us," Amaro said, relieved that Tang Shaoyang wanted to leave the frontier right away. He did not know what those fools tried to do, and he did not want to take the risk. "I guess I will be direct, did you summon the dead soldiers from the Hurakan Legion?"
Tang Shaoyang furrowed his brow because he did not like where this was going. Amaro might request him to free them from the contract, but he would not let his sacrifice be wasted.
"No, I am not asking you to free them," Amaro shook his head, "From what I know about the spirit, they became a spirit because they have a regret in their life, and I want to help them to resolve their regret or even the grudge."
What do you think?
