Saul had one long hour of conversation with Fabian and Andrea. Even though he expressed his willingness to form an alliance or even join the Tang Empire, Fabian and Andrea disagreed with him. The two had an attachment to their guild, and they could not bear to leave it to join another force.

The moment they heard what their Guild Leader said, both were shocked. Once more, their Guild Leader made the decision without consulting them first. Saul did not mean to hurt them. He did so because he saw the chance and took it.

However, Tang Shaoyang's reaction surprised the trio as they saw Tang Shaoyang frown deeper, clearly not taking the proposal well. Saul was offering the best proposal for the Tang Empire, further expanding the Tang Empire's force. It was not even an alliance, but a vassal, and yet The Emperor seemed not to like the proposal.

"I understand you can't trust me with my words since this is our first meeting, but my proposal is genuine because of our guild circumstances. If you are willing to give me more time, I can explain the situation of our guild, and you will soon understand why I want to be your vassal."

Saul was initially surprised, but he understood why The Emperor had such a reaction. He put himself in The Emperor's perspective, and he would feel suspicious instead of happy about receiving a surrender from a faction he did not know anything of.

"Before that, care to explain why the Etherna Alliance suddenly wants to make peace with us? I will listen to your explanation depending on your answer. If I detect a single lie, then there will be no further talk," Tang Shaoyang was curious as to why the Fortuna Guild suddenly wanted to be his vassal.
