Ascension of the Forsaken

Chapter 1: Awakening in an Unknown World

Lucian’s first sensation was warmth—deep, encompassing warmth, like floating in a gentle sea. It was unlike anything he had ever felt before. No pain. No hunger. No exhaustion from working late into the night. Just peace.

Yet something was wrong. His body felt… small. Weak. Everything was sluggish, unresponsive. He tried to move his fingers, his arms, but the effort was met with barely a twitch.

‘What…?’

Thoughts came sluggishly, like echoes through water. His mind, once sharp and precise, felt clouded. He could remember his name. Lucian Alden. He could remember… pain. Cold pavement. The cruel smirk of Nathaniel Arvell.

And then—darkness.

Had he died?@@novelbin@@

That was the only explanation. He had felt it—the life fading from his body, the inevitability of death swallowing him whole. Yet, here he was. Alive. Reborn.

Before he could make sense of it, the warmth surrounding him shifted. Pressure built around him, and suddenly, there was movement. He was being pushed—squeezed. The once peaceful environment became chaotic.

Lucian panicked. He had no control. His body acted on instinct, tiny limbs flailing as he felt himself being forced through an unknown space. Then, light—blinding, overwhelming light.

A sharp cry filled the air.

It took him a moment to realize the cry was his own.

‘No. Impossible…’

He tried to control it, but the instincts of his new body betrayed him. His throat burned as he continued to wail, helpless against his circumstances. Then, suddenly, he felt something—a large, warm hand supporting his tiny body. The touch was firm but not unkind.

A deep voice spoke, unfamiliar and powerful. “A strong birth. He will do well.”

Another voice, softer but equally authoritative, followed. “Another son of House Aldreth.”

The words were strange, foreign, yet… understandable. He wasn’t sure how, but his mind, still foggy and adjusting, grasped fragments of meaning. He was in a new world. A completely different world.

The voice of a woman whispered close to him, gentle yet distant. “His eyes… they are unlike the others.”

Lucian’s newborn body lacked the strength to open his eyes fully, but he could feel movement around him. He was being wrapped in something soft, held carefully.

He tried to process everything. His death had been real. His old world was gone. And now, he was here, in the arms of strangers. His mind raced with questions.

Where was he? Who were these people? And most importantly… what kind of world had he been reborn into?

For now, there were no answers. Only the quiet murmurs of those around him, the steady beating of a heart close to his ear, and the undeniable truth that he was no longer Lucian Alden, the genius who had once dreamed of reshaping his world.

He was someone else now.

And his new life had just begun.
