Chapter 390: Unintentional Arrival
The dwarf's eyes narrowed further, his lips curling into a sneer. "You think empty words will sway me? Your arrogance is matched only by your ignorance. Hand over the garden now, or face the consequences."
Liang tilted his head slightly, as if pondering the dwarf's demand. Then, with an exaggerated sigh, he reached into his robes and withdrew the artifact pouch containing the compressed garden. "Very well, If you insist on taking it back so desperately..."
With a flick of his wrist, Liang hurled the pouch high into the air. The sudden gesture caught the dwarf off guard—his stern expression faltering for the briefest moment as he instinctively leapt forward to catch it.
But just as the dwarf stretched out his hand, a faint smirk spread across Liang's face. In the blink of an eye, his aura underwent an overwhelming transformation. His human form dissolved, revealing his true self: a sleek, serpentine creature adorned with four radiant wings on its back and nine ethereal tails trailing behind him like streams of starlight. This was no ordinary being—it was the true form of Liang's bloodline, the Universe Devouring Serpent Bloodline, a name he had bestowed upon himself after unlocking its full potential.
In the span of two heartbeats, the change was complete. From his mouth erupted a searing flame—the Heavenly Spirit Flame, radiating a power equivalent in strength to that of an early-stage Void Return Realm expert. The flames coalesced into nine towering figures, each radiating an aura of destruction. These flaming avatars united seamlessly, fusing together to form a colossal being with nine ethereal tails and giant, blazing wings.
This new entity surged toward Liang, merging with him in a dazzling display of light and energy. When the fusion was complete, Liang stood transformed once more, but now he bore three pairs of wings—his original two enhanced by the addition of one more—and his nine tails blazed with colors so vibrant they seemed to defy reality itself.
Liang's aura surged, skyrocketing from half-step Void Return Realm to early-stage Void Return Realm in an instant. The pressure radiating from him now matched—and perhaps even exceeded—that of the dwarf himself.
"You wanted a fight?" Liang sneered. "Very well, I am egar to see what will be leftover from your small city."
The dwarf recovered quickly, though shock still lingered in his eyes. With a roar that shook the whole Dwarven City, he summoned a massive hammer forged entirely from runes. The weapon materialized in his grasp, pulsating with raw runic energy that amplified his already formidable strength. As the dwarf wielded the hammer, his aura flared wildly, pushing dangerously close to breaking through to the mid-stage Void Return Realm.
"Insolent serpent!" the dwarf bellowed, gripping the rune-hammer tightly. "You shall regret this!"
Without warning, the dwarf swung the hammer downward, unleashing a devastating wave of runic energy. The space around them begins to crack and the whole city almost splintered under the force of the attack.
Liang winges spreed wide sending a wave of power flame that was capable enough to destroy worlds.
Boom!
The entire Dwarven City trumbled violently, nearly most if the building collapsed.
Seeing this the dwarf ancestor expression darkened, although the city is filled with many powerful seventh grade formations they still couldn't the impact from such an attack
He needs to drag his opponent outside of the city, but how?
The dwarf ancestor, realizing the dire situation unfolding within his city, gritted his teeth. The destruction caused by their clash was already catastrophic, and he knew it would only worsen if the battle continued unchecked. With a deep breath, he focused on channeling the ancient power of the Dwarven City's defensive formations.
Raising his rune-covered hammer high above his head, the dwarf ancestor roared, "Enough destruction here! This fight ends elsewhere!"
A surge of spatial energy rippled through the air as the hammer glowed with an intense light, Spatial runes etched into the ground beneath them lit up in response, forming intricate patterns that pulsed with raw spatial energy.
Liang watched calmly, his serpentine eyes gleaming with amusement. He made no move to resist or counteract the formation's activation. Instead, he allowed himself to be enveloped by the swirling vortex of spatial energy that erupted around him and the dwarf.
"Teleportation? How considerate," Liang murmured, "But yes...."
In the blink of an eye, both of them vanished from the crumbling city, leaving behind nothing but echoes of their devastating clash. The remaining citizens of the Dwarven City stared in stunned silence at the wreckage surrounding them most of them couldn't comprehend what has just happened.
When Liang opened his eyes, he found himself standing in a desolate wasteland. The sky overhead churned with dark clouds tinged with ominous red hues, while the earth below was scorched and barren, devoid of any life. Yin Qi—hung thickly in the air, twisting and writhing like living shadows.
The dwarf ancestor landed nearby, Without wasting a moment, he bellowed, "This place suits your well!"
Liang chuckled darkly, his three pairs of wings flaring outward as his nine tails flickered with ethereal flames. "Ah, how considerate of you to bring me to here, You have saved me the journey."
Before the dwarf could respond, Liang launched himself forward with blinding speed. His claws extended, tipped with Heavenly Spirit Flame, slashing toward the dwarf ancestor.
The dwarf swung his hammer upward, blocking the attack with a deafening clang.
Sparks flew as the force of the impact sent shockwaves rippling across the barren expanse. Cracks spider-webbed outward from the point of collision in sky, further scarring the already ruined terrain.
"Hmph, let's see what else you got."
The dwarf ancestor's eyes glowed with an intense resolve as he tightened his grip on the rune-etched hammer. He was not about to let this serpent steal the orchid that they have been cultivating for generations.
He slammed his hammer into the ground. A shockwave of golden light erupted outward, carving deep fissures into the barren earth. Runes materialized in midair around him, glowing with intricate patterns that seemed alive, writhing and shifting as if they were sentient beings eager for battle.
"Runic Array: Mountain Shatterer!"
The runes spiraled toward Liang at blinding speeds, converging into a massive construct resembling a mountain forged entirely from runic energy. With a single swing of his hammer, the dwarf sent the colossal structure hurtling toward Liang.
Liang's serpentine form twisted gracefully as he evaded the initial impact, but the sheer force of the explosion sent waves of concussive energy rippling through the air. The ground beneath them shattered further, and yin qi swirled chaotically, feeding off the chaos of their clash.
"Hmph," Liang sneered, brushing off the residual energy with a casual flick of one wing. "Impressive technique, but this alone won't be enough.
What do you think?
