Chapter 123 123: A Warm Welcome
This auction would become one of the hottest topics in ExoGenesis for a long time.
It wasn't just because DarkSaber had spent a staggering 270 million on a worthless item, but also because the equipment available for bidding was the kind of top-tier gear that made ordinary players salivate with envy.
To up the prestige of this auction, Tristan didn't even bother putting out Black Iron or Bronze Grade items. He went straight for Silver Grade gear. Sure, this meant fewer items up for auction, but in this kind of event, quality was much more important than quantity.
Once his store's name was established through this auction, he wouldn't need to worry about future sales. Just flipping equipment would bring in endless cash flow.
The lower-tier gear, like Black Iron and Bronze Grade items, wouldn't go to waste either—they'd be sold in his shop, targeting players with less funding.
At that moment, Tristan, having just registered his guild, ran into the members of Shadow Legion who had just completed their registration as well.
DarkSaber glared at Tristan, his eyes bloodshot with fury. There was a murderous gleam in them. "Blackshade, you're really something," he spat.
Tristan simply smiled. "Of course, I'm great. No need for DarkSaber to worry about me."
"Heh, heh, heh."
DarkSaber sneered twice, then turned to walk off with his subordinates, not saying another word.
Tristan frowned. Now he wasn't sure what DarkSaber was planning.
But he quickly brushed it off. If he could destroy Shadow Legion in his previous life, he could certainly do it again in this one!
He opened the guild interface and sent guild invitations to GemmaS and NightStalker.
This had been something he'd mentioned earlier, and as soon as the invitations were sent, both of them accepted.
Under their usernames, a new line of text appeared:
Pinnacle
The other guild leaders in the area immediately noticed the change and realized that Blackshade had just recruited these two players into his guild. Envy spread quickly through the crowd.
Not only had Pinnacle earned a reputation already, but just being associated with Blackshade was a prestigious honor.
Who was Blackshade?
He was a regular in announcements, killing first bosses like it was no big deal. Calling him the number one player in the world wouldn't be an exaggeration.
With a leader like that, any guild could essentially win with their eyes closed.
As well-informed leaders, they also knew that GemmaS, the mechanical engineer, had recently been buying up scarce materials. Rumor had it that he was building a Destroyer mech. The blueprint for this mech? It came from Blackshade himself!
According to GemmaS, the blueprint was Dark Gold Grade!
To receive such a valuable blueprint even before officially joining the guild? Impressive, to say the least.
As for NightStalker, there were no rumors of Blackshade gifting him anything, but the assumption was that he wouldn't be treated poorly either.
Drake, too, felt envious.
Honestly, if he weren't the leader of IFA, he would've joined Pinnacle as well. But now, he'd missed that opportunity.
Still, not being in the guild didn't mean he couldn't collaborate. After all, with Blackshade now having his own guild, their interactions would likely become more frequent.
Previously, he'd only dealt with Blackshade on a personal level, which was great for him, but a bit awkward for IFA. Now that Blackshade had a guild, it would be easier for things to move forward.
Drake made a mental note: he'd have to push hard to get his own Guild Token and make a name for IFA on the leaderboard before it was too late.
As Blackshade made his move, he couldn't afford to fall behind.
In the guild channel, NightStalker excitedly said, "You said you were going to make a guild. I thought it'd take a while before it actually happened."
GemmaS replied thoughtfully, "I'm going to take a wild guess. Did you get that Guild Token a while ago and just kept it hidden until now?"
Tristan, on his way back to the shop, replied, "You know too much."
He sent a gun emoji with his message.
GemmaS laughed. "Haha, didn't expect you to have such a playful side!"
Tristan groaned. "Don't talk like I'm some old man from the classical era. I'm still young, alright?" Enjoy more content from My Virtual Library Empire
NightStalker chimed in. "Yeah, yeah, exactly!"
The trio laughed and relaxed, the bond between them growing stronger.
Just then, NightStalker spoke up, "Hey, I've got something to tell you."
Tristan replied, "Go ahead, what's up?"
NightStalker explained in detail that he had met two players while leveling up, a brother and sister with great potential and good character. He wanted to invite them into the guild but wasn't sure if Tristan would agree.
Tristan thought for a moment and asked, "What are their IDs?"
He was trying to create the strongest guild in ExoGenesis, but not just anyone would make the cut. If they had a bad reputation in his previous life, no matter how good their skills or rare their class, they were out.
NightStalker answered, "The brother's the older one, called DarkStriker. Like you, he's an Assassin. His sister, Manalady, is a Mage."
Tristan thought back. DarkStriker and Manalady…
Ah, so it's them.
NightStalker didn't know everything. DarkStriker was an Assassin, but not just any Assassin—he was a Windstriker Assassin, a hidden class with multiple mobility skills. He was incredibly hard to catch in combat. Not only that, but the more distance he covered with his movement skills, the higher his damage. By the later stages of the game, he could cover distances of over a thousand meters and take down bosses with a single stab.
As for Manalady, she was a rare Space Mage. While her damage wasn't the highest, her crowd control abilities were unmatched.@@novelbin@@
In his past life, Tristan had fought them in a duel. He won, but it had been a tough fight.
Now, hearing NightStalker's plan to invite them, Tristan had no reason to refuse. "I'll give you permissions. Go ahead and invite them."
NightStalker was overjoyed. "Thanks a lot!"

The system messages appeared, and GemmaS was the first to congratulate them.
"Welcome to the guild! Time for some pictures, Manalady!"
Tristan raised an eyebrow. If he didn't know better, he'd think GemmaS was some creepy old man.
"Hey, you're a girl yourself. Why are you asking another girl for pictures? Is that even okay?"
Manalady shyly said, "Umm, do I really have to post pictures?"
She knew Pinnacle was Blackshade's guild, and she trusted NightStalker, but being welcomed so enthusiastically right after joining the guild was a bit overwhelming.
Her brother was right—online waters ran deep, and she needed to be careful.
DarkStriker, however, was a lot more at ease. "It's an honor to join Pinnacle."
Tristan responded, "No need to be so formal. Once you're in the guild, you're family."
DarkStriker replied smoothly, "Got it. No problem."
Tristan was left speechless.
GemmaS couldn't stop laughing. "Who would've thought you'd be the one getting roasted?"
Tristan put on a stern face and said, "So, how's that blueprint I gave you? I'm telling you, if you can't get it done soon, I'll start charging interest."
GemmaS replied, "Funny you should mention that. I was about to bring it up. I ran into some issues collecting materials. There's a dungeon I can't get past. Since we're all here, how about we team up and run it together?"
What do you think?
