Chapter 292 Life Pattern Fragment
"Are you not going to scram? Do you want this young master to send you off?" Red Luan slapped Shi Hun away. Qinchuan glanced around and, seeing that the crowd still stood there dumbfounded, frowned and spoke.
Hearing this, the remaining elders dared not linger any longer and scattered like birds and beasts, fleeing in all directions.
What a joke; with Third Elder setting the precedent, they knew all too well what Qinchuan meant by sending them off—it was getting slapped away by Red Luan.
As they left, someone cursed, "Shameless wretch, possessing no real strength of your own, you simply ride on Red Luan's coattails!"
Another elder, having escaped into the distance, shouted loudly, "There's a rule in tomorrow's competition that demon beasts may not assist in battle. I'd like to see how arrogant you can be then."
Another elder's voice carried from afar, sneering sarcastically, "The Grand Elder wouldn't skip the competition, would he? If you dare not participate, you'd lose all face."
Qinchuan snorted. He not only intended to take part in tomorrow's competition, but also to dominate it; however, he kept that to himself.
Seeing that everyone had dispersed, Second Elder and his companions came forward one by one to thank Qinchuan for his generous gift of jade and then said their goodbyes and left.
Once everyone had gone, Qinchuan took out the Spring and Autumn Brush. Once more, the Dao surged, and he laid down prohibitions, restoring the area to its former status as a forbidding death zone.
Having completed everything, Qinchuan once again embarked on his quest to find Life Pattern Fragments.
With the Innate Pupils at his disposal, Qinchuan, although it didn't help much with treasure hunting, could still discern some clues. He finally found a Life Pattern Fragment before sunset.
"With this, Xiao Yu's cultivation of the Myriad Laws Treasured Body can advance another step faster."
Since the ultimate goal of coming to the Refining Spirit Valley had been achieved, there was no need for Qinchuan to stay any longer. He began heading towards the outskirts of the valley.@@novelbin@@
...
A dazzling light flickered, and Qinchuan's figure emerged from the red teleportation gate.
He was one of the last to leave the valley, and by this time, most of the disciples and elders had already left the Refining Spirit Valley, standing in scattered groups at the entrance.
"Hey, isn't that the so-called Grand Elder? He actually made it out alive!"
Seeing Qinchuan walk out from the red teleportation formation, a disciple recognized him and exclaimed from afar.
The red teleportation formation was connected to the core area of the Divine Valley, and this kid had actually made it out alive.
"The Grand Elder? What's all this about? Isn't the position of our sect's Grand Elder always vacant?" Many disciples were unaware of Qinchuan's appointment as the Grand Elder and looked around in confusion.
"Over there, over there, the one just out of the teleportation gate." An informed disciple began to eagerly point him out to the others.
"Oh, the idiot who keeps a bird?" A disciple suddenly understood. Read exclusive content at My Virtual Library Empire
"Yeah, yeah, that's him."
"No way, isn't this kid only at the Nine Layers of the Meridian Opening Realm? How could he possibly be our sect's Grand Elder!" Another disciple was full of doubts.
"There's no mistake, didn't you see him coming out of the red teleportation formation?" The disciple said affirmatively.
After Qinchuan emerged, Second Elder came forward to greet him with a bow, saying, "Young Master Qin, please come this way with me."
Qinchuan nodded and indicated for him to lead the way.
Second Elder explained as he led the way, "Today, we will tally up the Divine Soul Fragments obtained by all disciples and elders to exchange for Battle Points for tomorrow's competition. I will take Young Master Qin to exchange points first."
Disciples from a distance became interested when they saw Qinchuan headed towards the Sect Leader's direction and gathered around, saying, "Let's go and see how many Divine Soul Fragments this kid has got."
Meanwhile, Qinchuan and Chi Shan looked at each other.
Chi Shan asked, "Young Master Qin, where is your Divine Soul Fragment?"
In his mind, someone like Qinchuan wouldn't be surprised even if he tossed out a thousand Divine Soul Fragments, but Qinchuan's behavior left him feeling quite embarrassed.
All he saw was Qinchuan spreading his hands open, both of them empty, not a thing in sight.
He shrugged and said, "None!"
"No...none..."
Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead awkwardly, Chi Shan had thought that according to Qinchuan's strength, the Divine Soul Fragments he obtained would definitely not be few. Thus, as soon as he saw Qinchuan come out, he instructed Chi Ren to bring Qinchuan over.
He had already envisioned the scene where Qinchuan would pull out a bunch of Divine Soul Fragments, impressing all the elders and disciples to the point that when he formally announced Qinchuan as their Sect's Supreme Elder, there would be little opposition.
However, Qinchuan nonchalantly claiming to have none, made him feel like he had slapped a flatterer on the backside of a horse.
The surrounding disciples burst into laughter.
"Hahaha, did I hear that right, brother? Did we hear how many Divine Soul Fragments our esteemed Supreme Elder collected?"
Another disciple mocked gleefully, "Junior brother, you heard right, our Supreme Elder didn't collect a single Divine Soul Fragment!"
"Hahaha, is this the best he can do? And he's supposed to be our Supreme Elder!"
"Even the worst disciple collected ten Divine Soul Fragments, yet our grand Supreme Elder, not a single one."
Suddenly, many disciples cried out in unison, "He simply does not deserve to be our Sect's Supreme Elder!"
None knew how Qinchuan had convinced the old ancestors and the Sect Leader to become the Supreme Elder, but seeing is believing, and to them, this young man was clearly only in the Meridian Opening Realm and truly not fit to be the Supreme Elder.
The crowd roared with laughter. Chi Shan could no longer keep face and scolded, "Silence!"
Though Qinchuan was unfazed by the ridicule from the other disciples, he simply shrugged again, gently patted the Red Luan on his shoulder, and said, "It's all because you're too greedy, not leaving even a single Divine Soul Fragment for me."
The Red Luan, indeed wronged, couldn't help but retort in its heart, "It was clearly you who weren't interested in these fragments, so I reluctantly devoured them. Now why am I blamed for being greedy?"
Looking at Qinchuan with a look of grievance, the Red Luan suddenly spread its wings, shot into the air.
It opened its little beak and then began to spit out a pile of sparkling Divine Soul Fragments.
Turned out, the Red Luan had swallowed so many Divine Soul Fragments that later on, it started storing them up, planning to enjoy them when it felt peckish. Now, seeing Qinchuan speaking like this, it spewed them all out at once.
But this pile of Divine Soul Fragments the Red Luan regurgitated was enough to form a small hill.
The disciples who were just mocking Qinchuan suddenly stopped laughing, gasping in shock and staring dumbfounded at Qinchuan and the Red Luan.
"This... this... this..."
"Are these Divine Soul Fragments? Why are there so many?"
This heap was tremendous, easily totaling five thousand Divine Soul Fragments.
The disciples who had just been sneering at Qinchuan for not even matching the weakest among them now felt their faces burning, as if someone had slapped them hard.
"This kid, did he find a mine of Divine Soul Fragments? How could there be so many?!"
Such a thought emerged involuntarily in everyone's minds.
What they didn't know was that this was actually just a small portion of what Qinchuan had obtained after defeating the Demonic Divine Spirit, and much more had been swallowed by the Red Luan.
As they looked at the small mountain of Divine Soul Fragments before them, not only were the disciples stunned, but even Chi Shan was shocked.
However, it wasn't the pile of Divine Soul Fragments that astonished him, but something else he saw beside the pile.
What do you think?
