Asura Mad Emperor

Chapter 695: Horde of Demons

In the center of the Ancient Realm.

Amidst a series of desolate mountain ranges, there was a mysterious black altar.

Above the altar, an incredibly hideous humanoid monster was performing some sort of bizarre ritual.

Just then, suddenly, a little demon burst in, exclaiming loudly.

"Your Majesty, something terrible has happened; two Human Cultivators have entered the Yaksha Palace."

The Ghost Race powerhouse engaged in the mysterious ritual, named Guici, halted upon hearing this news and opened his eyes, shooting forth a terrifying killing intent.

"How is that possible? The Yaksha Palace is guarded by the Five Elements' Strange Fire, without the correct Spell, even our Demon Race Cultivators cannot enter. How could the Human Race possibly get inside?"

"I... I don't know... But in the outside world, those despicable humans have all gone mad!" the little demon replied.

"Wait... Have Liufeng and the others returned?"

Guici suddenly thought of something and cried out in shock.

"To report to Your Majesty, Liufeng and the other five lords have not yet returned!"

"Hmm? The Soul of the Undying Phoenix is most compatible with Liufeng, and since the Undying Phoenix mainly uses offensive tactics, it should not be as difficult to absorb as the Azure Dragon Soul Essence Qi. By all means, it should have been absorbed long ago.

Could it be, could it be that those three ants from Er Rengu didn't honor the agreement…"

Thinking this, the Demon Race king waved his hand, "Take a few of our people and wait at the periphery of the Array outside the Yaksha Palace to meet up with Cang Yuan and the others. Additionally, send Qing You to investigate the Yaksha Palace."

"Yes!"

The little demon bowed in response and then left the place.

...

This young Cultivator, following behind Qinchuan, was initially somewhat timid, fearing the strange fire would consume him, but after the two had traveled together for a long while without harm, his courage gradually grew, and he began to ingratiate himself with Qinchuan.

"This Qinchuan has committed many evils; it's truly retribution that the strange fire has devoured him."

"If not consumed by the strange fire, he would have been executed by the hundreds of Great Emperor powerhouses eventually!"

He spoke with resentment, clearly harboring a grudge against that "Qinchuan" from before.

He grumbled all the way until, after a long while, he turned to look at the Qinchuan beside him.

"By the way, Young Master, my name is Lin Buyu, a disciple of the Divine Path Sect. May I ask how you should be addressed?"

Lin Buyu was no Great Emperor powerhouse but merely an ordinary Holy's Realm, surviving to this day in the Ancient Realm where Great Emperors were as common as trees and Supreme Saints as numerous as dogs, by relying on the suppression of the Four Aspects Law.

"Qinchuan!"

Qinchuan quickened his pace, briskly moving forward as he spoke out two words faintly.

"What about Qinchuan? Qinchuan has been burnt to death by the strange fire, he got what he deserved!" Lin Buyu had not yet caught up with the thought and continued the conversation.

The next moment, he suddenly realized what had been said and blanched with shock, "Ah? Young Master, are you saying your name is Qinchuan?"

His tone changed, "You are Qinchuan, but the one outside?"

"Merely a deceiver, stealing the fame of others," Qinchuan said blandly.

"Ah... Young Master, so you... you're the real Young Master Qin?!" Upon hearing this, Lin Buyu finally understood; the Qinchuan outside had been an impostor.

And the true one had been right before him all this time.

What troubled him even more was that all along the way, he had been cursing Qinchuan right in front of the real Qinchuan himself.

Although the person he had been vilifying was not the real Qinchuan.

Still, he was utterly panic-stricken, constantly wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, "Young Master Qin, I didn't mean to curse you at all, I... I was cursing that imposter who stole your name."

Qinchuan abruptly stopped, turned his head with furrowed brows, and looked at Lin Buyu, "I told you not to stray beyond a three-zhang radius from this young master. Next time, I may not have the patience to remind you again."

Turns out, Lin Buyu had been so startled upon learning that the person before him was the real Qinchuan that he had inadvertently slowed down, almost failing to keep up with Qinchuan's pace, and nearly stepped out of the protective range of the Regulation Fire Bead.

"Yes, yes, Buyu remembers!"

Qinchuan's attitude indicated that he wouldn't pursue the matter further.

Only then did Lin Buyu let out a sigh of relief, feeling as though a massive boulder had been lifted from his heart.

He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and, with all his might, stimulated his movement technique to keep up with Qinchuan.

Qinchuan, who possessed the Extreme Sha Fixed Fire Bead, encountered no obstacles on his way.

The two followed a tunnel ablaze with fierce fire, not knowing how long they had been moving forward when they saw a white glow ahead, signaling they had reached the end.

"Hu!"

As soon as Qinchuan and his companion emerged from the fire tunnel, the next moment, a dense flock of fire crows charged at them from the void.

"Hmph!"

Qinchuan's aura was immense, his eyes ice-cold. Majestic Innate Power mixed with the power of cause and effect swept around him.

Lin Buyu let out a long howl, his hair disheveled in the chaos, as a golden spear materialized in his hand to fend off the surrounding fire crows.

Although these fire crows were descendants of the ancient Demon Race, after being imprisoned here for billions of years, their bloodline had greatly degenerated, and their current Cultivation Level was at most that of the Holy's Realm.

The two entered the flock of fire crows, moving as if they were in a land without others.

However, the surrounding fire crows continued to appear endlessly, and with each sweep from Qinchuan, a large number of their corpses would fall.

But in an instant, the gaps were filled again.

These fire crows seemed infinite, as if they could never be fully eradicated.

"These fire crows have bred for countless generations here; there's no telling how many there are!"

Qinchuan also realized this and immediately exhaled a breath of Essence Qi.

The golden Spiritual Power that gushed forth like waves violently pushed back the flock of fire crows, clearing a space ahead of them.

"Now, the only way is to push forward and carve out a path of blood."

The two continued to crush the fire crows ahead while moving forward.

Lin Buyu faithfully followed by Qinchuan's side.

Though the fire crows were not as strong as him, he was already struggling to deal with dozens at once; facing tens of thousands, he would have fallen already if not for Qinchuan at his side.

The two thus continued to advance step by step; after an indeterminate amount of time, the number of fire crows ahead gradually decreased.

But on the ground, countless swarms of Heavenly Demon Ants had appeared.

These ants were several zhang long, with a pair of strong and powerful iron legs, capable of delivering a painful bite if one were to be caught.

However, Qinchuan was not troubled by this either.

The two continued to pass safely through the guarded area of the Heavenly Demon Ants.

As they advanced, the ground beasts changed in several waves, from Heavenly Demon Ants to four-legged Demon Spiders, and then to candle dragons with horns on their heads.

In just a few days, the two experienced more than ten different beast hordes' intercepts.

Fortunately, these were all low-rank beasts. With Qinchuan taking action, they forcibly cleared a survival path.

Ten days later.

The two were covered in green blood, as if they had just crawled out of a beast's blood pool.

Within these short ten days, Lin Buyu had killed at least a million beasts.

At this moment, his admiration for Qinchuan was profound.

Being able to kill so many beasts was solely due to Qinchuan's assistance. Had he been alone, he would have been overwhelmed by the hordes of beasts.

Having lived for thousands of years, he had never killed as many beasts in ten days as he had in ancient times, and his gains were tremendous. He felt that if it were not for the suppressive laws of the Ancient Realm, he would have already broken through.
