Chapter 177: My talent is going to waste

Chapter 177: My talent is going to waste

Holding her delicate body in his arms, Yun Wuji had no mind to dwell on the softness of her body. Instead, he focused intently, channeling his profound energy into her to carefully inspect her condition.

In just a few moments, Yun Wuji had a clear understanding of her condition. There were no clichéd scenarios—no burned blood essence, no poison, no accidental inhalation of aphrodisiacs. Her state was straightforward; she had sustained serious injuries, and coupled with the fact that she had nearly exhausted all her energy, she had simply lost consciousness for a short time.

She only needed rest and time to heal her injuries. If his guess was correct, she would regain consciousness in just a few moments.

"Hmm!" Mu Xuanyin's body stiffened the moment Yun Wuji touched her. Her eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly opened her eyes. When she realized she was in his arms, a wave of shock washed over her. In more than 10,000 years of her life, she had never been in such close physical contact with any man other than her father. Flustered, she immediately tried to push him away.

"Sect Master, your condition is serious. Let me find a place to heal you," Yun Wuji said, taking a deliberate step back to give her space. His expression was grave, his voice steady and sincere as he spoke.

They were currently floating in the vast emptiness of the void. Though it seemed desolate, it was anything but safe, with hidden dangers lurking everywhere, like the spatial storms that could tear through anything in their path.

"...Alright," Mu Xuanyin replied, giving Yun Wuji a complicated look before nodding slowly. She had never anticipated that this young man would possess the ability to completely reverse the situation the moment he took action. For a moment, she wondered if he could've handled it alone, even without her intervention. Maybe she had only disrupted his plans instead of aiding him.

Yun Wuji walked over and held out his hand. He said, "Sect Master, you're very weak right now. Let me help you." Without waiting for her to reply, he took her hand. Then, they turned into a streak of light and flew away together.

"..." Mu Xuanyin didn't resist. But when she heard the words, "You are very weak," she flinched. She thought, Where have I heard these words before? The phrase felt familiar, though she couldn't quite remember why.

"Etcho!" In the Sky Poison Pearl, Hei Xiaolian suddenly sneezed. She looked around suspiciously and muttered, "Who's talking about me behind my back?"

Yun Wuji flew for several hours until he spotted another meteor drifting in space. After landing, he took out a soft mattress and said to Mu Xuanyin, "Sect Master, please sit down. I'll take a look at your injuries."

"Hmph! I'm not so weak that I need to sit down," Mu Xuanyin said, glancing at the mattress before letting out a dismissive snort.

'Is she embarrassed? How cute...' Yun Wuji wasn't offended at all. With a quick thought, he guessed what was going through her mind. She was probably feeling ashamed and embarrassed because of her earlier interference. Maybe she even felt guilty, thinking she had ruined his plans. Of course, if she knew what his real "plans" were, she would've slapped him to death long ago.

"Yes, Sect Master," Yun Wuji replied respectfully. He then reached out and took her hand. A pure white light began to glow from his palm, enveloping her hand. The light slowly spread up her arms, then to her shoulders, and soon, it covered her entire body and soul.

Mu Xuanyin closed her eyes, feeling as though she was basking in a warm and comforting embrace. It was as if she had returned to her childhood, wrapped in the gentle arms of a mother.

The sensation brought an overwhelming sense of calm and tranquility to her mind and soul, as if they were being cleansed of all the impurities of the mundane world. At the same time, she felt her injuries, ones she thought would take decades to heal, recovering at a visible pace. Even the hidden wounds she had accumulated over the past ten thousand years were being healed, one by one.

After a long while, Yun Wuji finally retracted his hand, much to Mu Xuanyin's disappointment. He then said, "You should be alright now."

He clapped his hands and added, "Luckily, your injuries this time weren't too serious. Otherwise, it would've been much more complicated for me to heal you."

"..." Mu Xuanyin's face twitched when she heard him describe her injuries as "not serious." She wanted to grab him and demand, What kind of injuries do you consider serious?!

"Ying Wu, that bastard ran too fast. I couldn't catch him..." she said seriously after checking her condition.

That bastard was as slippery as an eel, she couldn't catch him even after chasing him for a great distance.

"That's to be expected. He is, after all, an Upper Star Realm King. He must have some trump cards and life-saving tricks up his sleeve," Yun Wuji nodded, he didn't find this unexpected. In fact, this was exactly what he had intended from the start. If his tool man, Ying Wu, were to die, how could he proceed with the next step of his plans?

After speaking, he suddenly turned to Mu Xuanyin with sharp eyes and asked, "Why are you here, Sect Master?"

It was a valid question. Why would she, the Realm King of the Snow Song Realm, appear so coincidentally in this place? The timing was too perfect, almost suspiciously so.

Mu Xuanyin was at a loss for words. Should she admit that she had been stalking him? Unable to come up with a reasonable explanation, she resorted to what she did best...Putting on a tough front. She crossed her arms over her plump chest and replied with icy composure, "This king was following you."

"Following me? Since when?" Yun Wuji's brow furrowed, his expression darkening as if genuinely upset.

Then, before she could respond, his eyes widened, and he suddenly asked, "Wait… don't tell me you've been spying on me since I arrived at the Divine Ice Phoenix Sect?!"

"..." Mu Xuanyin's eyebrow twitched. This kid was too sharp, he actually guessed it that quickly. However, as a realm king, she wouldn't lose her composure so easily. She nodded indifferently and said, "Yes, I have been keeping an eye on you since you came to the Divine Ice Phoenix Sect."

"I admire how you admit to being a stalker with a straight face, hahaha~" Chi Wuyao's seductive laughter echoed in her ear at that moment.

"Shut up! It's not just me who's been stalking him!" Mu Xuanyin replied coldly to her mocking.

"So every action and every word I said was monitored by you... I had no privacy at all," Yun Wuji muttered, his face momentarily dazed. Then, as if something clicked, his expression changed, and he pointed at her. "You... you know!"

"Yes, I heard every word of your conversation with the Sky Poison Spirit, and I know about the calamity that will befall the Primal Chaos," Mu Xuanyin replied. She knew exactly what he was referring to and gave a slight nod, confirming his suspicions.

"Why would you spy on me? I didn't do anything that goes against your sect or you! I even saved your sister's life!" Yun Wuji glared at her and roared in anger.

Everything about him, his expression, body language, even the fluctuations of his soul, painted the perfect picture of shock and fury. If someone didn't know it was all an act, they would have no doubt that he was truly enraged.

"I was curious about you," Mu Xuanyin replied, her voice calm and steady. In contrast to his outburst, she remained composed. From the moment she decided to stop Ying Wu, she had been prepared for this. Honestly, she didn't feel any shame in what she had done, after all, she was a King Realm of the Middle Star Realm and a Divine Master. Why should she concern herself with someone else's feelings?

Mu Xuanyin was always domineering in her words and actions. If she didn't like someone, she wouldn't hesitate to crush them without a second thought.

"Curious? Fuck!" Yun Wuji was taken aback by her response. His anger flared, and he pointed at her, shouting, "So not only did you spy on me for months, but you also ruined my plans just because of your curiosity?!"

'Damn! My skills are getting better and better. Maybe I should create a universe-scale theater when I conquer this world,' Yun Wuji thought to himself, inwardly pleased with his acting, even as he maintained an angry expression on the outside.

"...I was trying to help you," Mu Xuanyin frowned when he cursed, but she remained silent. She knew it was indeed her fault.

"..." Yun Wuji closed his eyes and took a deep breath, as if to calm himself. After a moment, he opened his eyes and said calmly, "I lost control of my emotions earlier. I hope I didn't offend you, Sect Master Mu."

"..." Mu Xuanyin was slightly surprised by his quick change of attitude. He was able to regain control over his emotions and steady himself so quickly.

Yun Wuji didn't give her time to think. He extended his hand toward her, and in it was a sparkling stone nameplate, the Ice Phoenix Engraved Jade. He held it out solemnly and said, "Thank you for your care over this past month. Please tell Senior Bingyun that I am very grateful to her, and I will remember her kindness. If there's a chance in the future, I will repay her."

The Ice Phoenix Engraved Jade floated toward Mu Xuanyin under Yun Wuji's profound energy. Without waiting for her response, he turned around and left.

He tapped the ground lightly and flew away. However, before completely leaving, he called out with a few parting words, "Sect Master Mu, you don't have to worry about Ying Wu. I have my ways to deal with him."

However, before he could fly even a hundred meters, pressure suddenly pushed him back to the ground. Mu Xuanyin's chilling voice came from behind him, "Where do you think you're going? Do you believe you can join and leave my Divine Ice Phoenix Sect as you please?"

When Yun Wuji stated that he wanted to leave, Mu Xuanyin was momentarily stunned. She expected him to be angry at her for spying on him, but she hadn't expected him to be so resolute in leaving the sect. There was no hesitation in his tone, as if he truly intended to cut off his connection with her, her sister, and the entire sect.

Yet, Mu Xuanyin had no intention of stopping him. He had only been in the sect for a little over a month and had no deep ties to it. In fact, the only reason he joined in the first place was to find her sister, Mu Bingyun. His decision to leave was understandable...it was expected.

Mu Xuanyin figured it was best to let him leave for now and give him time to cool off. When the time was right, she would think of a way to bring him back.

Strangely enough, Mu Xuanyin failed to realize that all her thoughts revolved around keeping Yun Wuji in the sect...

However, all of this was overturned when she heard his parting words! He wanted to deal with Ying Wu?! How could she possibly allow that?!

Although Ying Wu was injured, he was still a Divine Master and the realm king of an Upper Star Realm. He had countless subordinates at his command. No matter how many trump cards Yun Wuji had, there was no way he could take on an entire Star Realm!

She wouldn't allow him to court death!

Wait a minute… why did she even care about his life and death in the first place?

Could it be because he saved her sister?@@novelbin@@

Perhaps...

Or is it because of his frightening talent, that surpasses even the Creation Gods?

That could be it too...

Could it be because he's the only one who can stop the calamity that will befall the Primal Chaos? After all, if he were to die, the entire world would follow soon after...

Right, there's that too...

But why did it feel like there was something more? She couldn't shake the feeling that his life should come above all else...

It had to be because if he died, she and her sister would probably follow. That must be it, right?

As she thought about it, everything seemed to fall into place.

In that case, she couldn't allow him to recklessly risk his life! All these thoughts passed in less than a second. The moment Yun Wuji was about to take off, Mu Xuanyin had already sorted her mind. Her Divine Master pressure erupted, and an invisible force descended from the heavens, pushing him back to the ground and completely immobilizing him.

She walked over slowly, her voice frosty as she said, "Where do you think you're going? Do you believe you can join and leave my Divine Ice Phoenix Sect as you please?"

'What are you going to do?' Chi Wuyao sensed Mu Xuanyin's chaotic soul fluctuations and asked urgently. For some reason, she had a bad feeling. With her Nirvana Devil Soul, if she had a bad feeling, it usually meant something terrible was about to happen.

"..." Mu Xuanyin didn't respond to her split personality. She wasn't obligated to answer her, especially when it came to crucial decisions. She could indulge her when in the mood, but when it mattered, she would ignore her completely.

"Sect Master Mu, what is the meaning of this?!" Yun Wuji gritted his teeth, feeling as if a mountain weighed down on him. He resisted the pressure with all his might and slowly turned around to face Mu Xuanyin.

Mu Xuanyin stood imposingly before him, her arms crossed over her chest. She spoke coldly, "To leave the sect, one needs the approval of the sect master. Otherwise, wouldn't anyone just join and leave as they please after taking my sect's resources? Do you think sects are charity?"

What she said was indeed true. Unless there were special circumstances, disciples rarely left their sect because it was difficult to do so. Even if someone wanted to leave, they needed the approval of the sect master. If they left without permission, they would be considered deserters and hunted by the entire sect.

"Sect Master Mu, you clearly know why I joined the sect. Why are you making things difficult for me?" Yun Wuji's expression darkened as he resisted the pressure forcing him to the ground. Gasping for breath, he spoke through gritted teeth.

Mu Xuanyin watched his struggling expression for a moment, a faint smile tugging at her lips. "Because I can," she replied simply.

Hearing her words, Yun Wuji's breath hitched, his face flushing red with anger. "You're being unreasonable!" he shouted, his voice filled with frustration.

'Damn, my acting is on point! Look at the emotion, look at the expression, even I'm starting to believe myself!' Yun Wuji thought inwardly

Mu Xuanyin paid no attention to his anger. She simply shrugged her shoulders and replied indifferently, "I'm being unreasonable, so what? What can you do about it?"

As the Realm King of the Snow Song Realm and a Divine Master, she could do as she pleased. Why should she care about anyone else's opinion?

"You—!" Yun Wuji struggled to raise his hand, pointing at her speechlessly, his face a mix of frustration and helplessness.

"Give up. You won't leave the sect unless I allow it," Mu Xuanyin said casually, shaking her head. Then, her expression turned serious, and she suddenly asked, "Before you left the Snow Song Realm, I overheard your conversation with that Sky Poison Spirit. Is what she said true?"

As she spoke, her face remained serious and stern, but a faint, almost imperceptible blush crept onto her cheeks.

"What?" Yun Wuji's struggle suddenly stopped. He glanced at her up and down, a hint of confusion in his eyes, before asking, "Are you talking about Diddy party?"

Mu Xuanyin's face darkened, and she replied coldly, "No!"

"Then is it about our chat on Boku no Pico?"

"Fuck!" Mu Xuanyin's face twisted in disgust, and she cursed before snapping, "No!"

"Ah, I got it now!" Yun Wuji suddenly exclaimed, as if a lightbulb had gone off in his head. "You must be talking about the NTR mangas, right?"

Mu Xuanyin's chest heaved with anger, causing waves to surge beneath her robe. She clenched her fists tightly, her voice icy as she said, "Are you messing with me? Do you want me to give you some tough love?"

"Wait! I've been chatting with Hei Xiaolian every day, how am I supposed to know exactly what you're referring to?" Yun Wuji's face paled as he quickly took a step back, speaking in a hurried tone.

Of course, he was messing with her, he knew exactly what she was talking about!

"..." Mu Xuanyin took a deep breath, calming herself. Then, she lowered her head and spoke in a quiet voice, "I heard her say something about helping me reach the God Emperor level in a short time. Is that true?"

If it were anyone else, she wouldn't have even considered believing such a claim. But the ones discussing this were Yun Wuji, a freak of nature, and a Spirit of a Profound Heavenly Treasure!

Their credibility was far too high to dismiss.

"Oh, so you're referring to that," Yun Wuji said, his expression lighting up as if he finally understood. He replied casually, "Of course, it's true. Why would we spout nonsense among ourselves? It's not like we knew you were spying on us, right?"

'Right? Hehehe...' Yun Wuji thought to himself.

"So it is possible!" Though she had already prepared herself, hearing the confirmation from him still left her in disbelief. "Tell me more."

"If I explain it to you, will you allow me to leave?" Yun Wuji didn't answer her question directly. Instead, he seized the opportunity to bargain with her.

"Hmph! I'll consider your proposal," Mu Xuanyin snorted, her tone cold and indifferent.

"I'll trust Sect Master Mu's word," Yun Wuji said, his expression softening with relief as a faint smile appeared on his face. "As you know, more than 10,000 years ago, you inherited the last remnants of the Ice Phoenix's power, right?"

"That's indeed the truth," Mu Xuanyin nodded. Although this was a secret known only to her and her sister, she wasn't surprised that he knew about it. After all, this guy seemed to know countless things, and he was likely that have communicated with that divine existence at the bottom of the lake.

"Thanks to this power, you were able to reach the level of Divine Master and surpass all your predecessors."

"..." Mu Xuanyin remained silent, her expression unreadable.

"However, due to your... modest talent, over the past 10,000 years, you've only been able to refine about 10% of that power," Yun Wuji said, a smirk playing on his lips as he watched her reaction.

"..." Mu Xuanyin's right cheek twitched when she heard him describe her talent as "modest." Was this guy looking down on her? Did he even realize how many people worshipped her and dreamed of possessing even a fraction of her talent?

"If you were to refine the remaining power normally, it would take you tens of thousands of years to fully absorb it and reach the God Emperor level," Yun Wuji continued, ignoring her obvious displeasure. "However, I am someone who has inherited the Blood and Soul of the Primordial Azure Dragon, and I also possess a unique physique that transcends the laws of this world."

"If someone like you were to dual cultivate with me multiple times, it would accelerate the speed of your refinement from tens of thousands of years to just a few months."

What he said was mostly true, with just a bit of exaggeration.

The truth is, if she were to dual cultivate with him, her power would rise to the level of the Eternal Heaven God Emperor, or perhaps surpass him, in just a few months.

The lie? She didn't need to do it multiple times...just once would suffice.

As for why he lied... Well, do you even need to ask? Hehe ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

"So that's it, the Dragon Soul you used earlier was the Dragon God's soul. No wonder it was so powerful," Mu Xuanyin remained silent for a long time, processing what he had said.

"Sect Master Mu, I upheld my part of the deal. Can you now keep your promise and let me leave?" Yun Wuji looked at her hopefully and asked.

"Let you leave? When did I promise to let you leave?" Mu Xuanyin raised an eyebrow and replied with a cold smile.
