Awakened: SSS Ranked Soul king

Chapter 129 129: The Dark Soul King

Taboo

Taking over or control over human souls was taboo in shaman culture and societies. The thought of seeing one's deceased loved one in the control or whim of another was the most devastating feeling in the world.

It was one of the main reason the Shaman race was so isolated in the grand scheme of the universe, no one wanted to associated with people cable of such dreadful acts.

The other races hated them for their abilities and despite banding such practices and labeling whoever involved themselves in them, the other races still hated them and gave them space because of the small few like the ravens lord here.

The rules in shaman society was to kill any dark shaman when found. When Guilliman saw the handy work of the ravens lord, trapping the souls of his dead comrades in shells, he knew that the old man had to go.

One way of the other.

But now, he was placed with a decision that would place him in the same situation as the dreadful dark shamans.

"No…choice….in vain" Thane kept saying as he watched Guilliman in a painful daze.

His request was not without reason.

Without control over the ravens lord, the fog would desisipate and with it, their only means of protecting this city. Plus the hollowed beast in the western mountains was still like a looming blade over their necks.

If they allowed it to become an abomination…..stopping it would be close to impossible even with the fog.

Guillimans hands were truly tied here, he had no choice, he could either take his soul and bind it, finishing the mission or he could leave him and not only fail, but potentially die In the hands of the hallowed abomination and it's myriad beasts.

"Fuck it, what has the universe's people ever done for me?" Guilliman spat.

Aside from its moral ambiguity, the reason shamans forbade this act was because of the broader worlds concerns. But as the last surviving member of their race he knew that they didn't really care about morals.

Rather, the universes powers just wanted to keep the shamans under their feet. The moment his status as the heavy soul body they joined forces to destroy them all.

If he truly wanted to control his fate and become strong, he would have to go the extra step.

Guilliman stoop up from the bloodied body of thane and took a step back, then with his hand out he asked.

"Are you willing Thane Blacksteel?" He asked with a firm look on his face.

This was the last decision Thane would ever make in his life, after this, his being would be at the beck and call of Guillimans will.

"Ye…s" Thane said with clear struggle in his eye as he tried to push back the ravens lords influence.

"Then Arise or servant of mine" stretching his hand out, Guilliman released a monsterous aura of soul energy that expanded throughout the throne room.

At this point, only himself and thane could be seen in this room, and he looked like a king calling upon his servant.

Thane soul suddenly jerked as he felt his very being yanked out of his body, but its wasn't only him, his soul seemed to be spread into two parts, one was his human body and the other resembling a crow floated right behind him.

"Submit!!" Guilliman barked,

Thane had submitted to him, but there were two parts to this soul. And the second part was still indignate.

Seeing Guillimans look underneath him, the Ravens lord tried to resist. But the more he tried the more his soul was weakened, in a challenge of pure willpower and soul strength, he a 300 year old Shaman was losing to a kid that was wet behind the ears.

It was embarrassing

But at the end he had no choice.

[Dark Soul King Class]

Infront of Guiliman Thane and the black raven behind him merged together, forming the coat he had on previously and a metallic helmet that looked like a Ravens beak.

He went on one knee showing reverence.

Meanwhile,

Far inside of ravenswood forest, the fog started to churned in a rather strange way. The beasts within it turned in the direction of ravens keep and took a knee just like Thane had done.

"What's going on?" One of the slayers who had tagged along to help the fog stood up and looked around at the myriad fog monsters.

They knew the collective was recieving orders constantly from the keep, but this behavior was strange to say the least.

"Maybe something happened in the shelter?" Another spoke a look of worry on his face.

In a completely different part of the forest, another scene could be seen unfolding, this one quite different from the other.

"Don't let them regroup!!" Dorn Blacksteel barked, the spear in his left hand brandished with absolute precision.

They had been chased down by the shelters sentinels for days now. At first, they thought Thane would simply let them go since he didn't want to follow their plans.

But who knew that he would be so petty as to send these things after them?

Truly, that kid couldn't control his anger.

"I know, don't lecture me!!" Logan Valor wielded two claymores, gritting his sharp teeth.

They were vastly outclassed by these sentinels, who knew how much power thane truly wielded within the confined of that city.

It was no wonder he didn't want to leave.

As they prepared to engage the sentinels who were scattered, a sudden change occurred.

All the sentinels removed themselves from their fighting positions and stood straight before them in a none combative stance.

"Hm? What's going on?" Dorn took a step back and scanned.

This was strange behavior.

One of the sentinels soon walked forward and looked to dorn with a calm demeanor. Before their very eyes, the sentinel fell to one knee and stretched his hand to the ground.

It was writing words, they read.

"Thane is dead, the city is in my control, Sir dorn, Sir Logan, please do not engage the hallowed beasts on your own. The fog and the slayer army will meet with you in a few days"

"Hm? Thane is dead?" Dorn raised his brows.

Not a lot of people knew this, but he had exchanged blows with thane for supremacy over the city a day before their escape.

At that point, he realized that thane was far too powerful for a coup and it seemed like he was only getting stronger, so he gathered his people and left with whoever was willing.

No one in ravens keep could beat him. That he was sure of.

But why would Thane create such a ruse? He was usually very straight forward with his conflicts and rarely schemed.

As donut brewed in his mind, the sentinel turned to a particular direction where there seemed to be a dead sentinel but no one to fight it.

He then bent again and wrote some more words.

"Vincent, you still suck at hiding. I see you"

after which the sentinel stood up straight and tensed up.

The next seconds each of the sentinels fell to the ground one after the other breaking apart like the empty shells of amour that they were.

Guilliman had released these loyal soldiers that had stayed by the side of the ravens lord for over 200 years. They didn't deserve to be kept in such bonage for longer than they already were.

"What's with that?" Logan asked looking at the empty space not too far away.

All of a sudden, Vincent blackberry faded into existence infront of the sentinels shell. His face looked pale and his hair was gray, however he was healed.

It seemed like Thames cut hadn't ended his life.

"It's the slum rat" a vexed look on his face Vincent spoke rather calmly.

He knew that obnoxious tone wherever he heard it….or in this case saw it.

The thought of him being in control over the city sent him shivers. Would he use his new found strength against him?.

"Slum rat? You mean the one that caused the assassination to fail?" Dorn asked with a raised eyebrow.

When they planned to assassinate thane, Vincent mentioned severally that Guilliman would be an obstacle, they didn't believe him but still took the precaution to make such he wasn't home, and dispite that he still blamed the boy for his failure.

Dorn didn't know what to say about the entire matter, but seeing his insistence that it was kid that killed thane, he couldn't help but feel cautious.

Someone like that existed under their nose and they didn't know? It was a huge oversight. Right now, they could only hope that his grudge with Vincent wouldn't extend to them.
