Chapter 99 Untitled
Amongst everyone here, there was no one that hated nobles like Jemie. Which was weird since he himself qualified as a noble. In fact, he looked more like a noble than even Victoria.
Yet, he disliked them. Even this old man who didn't really do anything was dispised by Jemie.
"Heheh" hearing Guillimans remark, Jemie smiled. He didn't make such remarks around random people, he always just thought Guilliman would understand how much he dispised them. Since he himself had a serious grudge with one of the noble families.
"Hmm, speak of the devil" Guilliman suddenly muttered his eyes shone with a blue luster as he suddenly switched view to look through the eyes of ghost.
He had made it a habit to constantly search his surroundings for monsters when he was out and about. So ghost was always circling around.
Just now, he noticed a group of men shrouded in black cloths and energy walking around not too far away in the forest.
"Hm? Who?" Jemie frowned, everywhere seemed peaceful with the three clans working together, but this far out from the camp was dangerous.
Especially with the tension of the three clans competing.
"Nu" Guilliman said one word and everyone suddenly felt a sense of dread.
The Nu
Dark, eerie and ominous. That was the only way to describe the people from this clan. They were extremely cunning and enjoyed darkness more than anyone, if not for the fog they would probably dominate the night in the forest.
"Are they coming this way?" Morgan asked his eyes darting around for possible routes his strings could go.
The Nu were the worst set of people to run into in a secluded part of the forest. Especially with that fact that they were in a group. If they found them in the way of one of their sensitive missions they would kill them to clear up their tracks.
"Yes, but there's no need to worry, someone from the Aaron clan is meeting them. It's not a mission they are exchanging information" Guilliman calmed them down.
For outward appearances they would usually share some inconsequential information every now and then in preparation for the seige.
Their presence here was not so ominous anymore.
Pulling ghost out of the area, Guiliman dismissed him and and looked back to the old man Wilson. He was done with his business and was already about 200 meters away from them.
Not long after he joined them beside the tree with a smile.
"I found a wonderful prey" the old man Wilson smiled at them pretending that he had gone tracking. They didn't say anything and neither did he, they all left as one body with no disagreements
30 minutes later, they had caught and slain a sacred beast the size of and elephant had started cutting it up.
Kill, preserve and pack for transport. This was their job and the three were damn good at it.
Most especially the kill part.
The old man even mused how fine tuned they were as a team to be able to kill such a monster with such proficiency.
To which they responded with 'practice' which in truth sounded rational.
He and the majority of the slayers here had made their way here with the help of one of the three clans. But from what he knew Guilliman and his friends had lost the valors at the outer edges of the forest and were forced to go at it on their own.
The thought of how they must have survived, these kids was worrisome, they must have lost a lot of people and were forced to survive all on their own.
"Catch" throwing a slab of meat through the air at Jemie, Guiliman laughed as it went splat on his face.
They had nicknamed Jemie the speedstar, Cyrus and their group. He let it go to his head so whenever he wasn't looking Guilliman would throw something at him to remind him that his aspect was a joke.
Of course, he had gotten use to it, and would quickly dodge when he could. However Guilliman didn't stop so he got tired of dodging.
"Haha, very mature" Jemie sneered pulling the slab of meat from his face and packaging it into a wrapped up leaf sack.
They only took the essentials with them, so they made sure to crack up exactly what they needed rather than sticking the whole thing inside.
This was the job.
"Hehe, sucker" Guilliman smirked then turned away. However in the next second he smiled as flash of golden light shut out and Jemie appeared infront of him his blade swung down right towards him as if he was trying to kill him.
This caused immediate panic amongst the other two as they looked at Jemie with with a look of surprise and shock.
The usual banter was cool, and sometimes funny, but such a threat was not something to be played with.
However as they looked at Guillimans expression and Jemie hanging right next to him with flames of fury in his eyes they frowned.
This wasn't right.
Guilliman didn't seem bothered and Jemie was emitting killing intent. This was strange, this entire situation was strange.
They soon came to understand it though as Guillimans voice sounded.
"Vincent? Long time no see"'
He looked up at an invisible spot infront of him with a bitter and smug look.
In the next instant, a body previously invisible soon came to light infront of Guilliman a blade in his hand aiming at Guilliman.
It was Vincent blackberry.
Guilliman didn't point it out before, but the moment he spotted the Nu, there was also an invisible figure walking around them acting as a hidden hand.
The person from the Aaron family couldn't see him, but Guilliman could. Unfortunately, Vincent could see him too. And the moment he noticed him he started tracking him.
Even after dispelling ghost before he could get to their position, Vincent still managed to track him and he even brought friends.
From the shadows of the various threes, silhouettes in black started stepping out one after the other.
What do you think?
