Awakening: Reincarnating With the SSS-Level Extraction Talent

Chapter 303 Cutting the Abyss, Finally Using World Cleaver

Alex watched in slow motion as Varyn's scythes descended toward his neck.

From Varyn's own vision, he could see the blades closing in, their sharp edges glinting with abyssal energy.

If they struck, it would be over.

His journey, his fight, his life, everything would end here.

Time seemed to stretch, each millisecond dragging on as Alex's mind raced.

Was this how it would all end?

Would he die here, in the depths of the Abyss, because he had been tricked by Morgathis and exiled to this nightmarish realm?

Under normal circumstances, Alex would never have dared to enter the Abyss, let alone challenge its god within his own domain.

It was suicide, plain and simple.

But for a brief moment, Alex had been confident.

He had believed in his abilities, in the power of the [Threads of Fate], in the strength of his will.

He had thought it would be enough.

He had failed to account for one crucial detail.

Varyn had a Chosen One, and within the Abyss, the God of the Abyss was nearly invincible.

This wasn't just a fight, it was a massacre.

An unfair, one-sided battle where the odds were stacked impossibly against him.

It was over.

Alex could feel it.

The scythes were inches away, and there was nothing he could do to stop them.

But then, something changed.

The connection to Varyn's vision was severed, plunging Alex back into total darkness.

The [Eternal Abyss] had blinded him, deafened him, and stripped him of all his senses.

Yet, in this darkness, a light appeared.

A faint, golden glow that grew brighter and brighter until it took shape in his mind.

It was the [Wielder of Destiny], also known as the [Wielder of the Blade of Destiny].

The figure was much smaller than the first time Alex had seen it.

Back then, it had been a towering entity, so vast it seemed to look down on the world and the heavens themselves.

But here, in the Abyss, it had taken on a more human size, standing at the same height as Alex.

The [Wielder of Destiny] had pure white hair, a calm, expressionless face with closed eyes, and wore a flowing robe that hid its feet.

It walked slowly toward Alex in his mind, its presence radiating an aura of immense power.

In its hand, the [Blade of Destiny] materialized, its edge shimmering with golden light.

The scythes were still descending toward Alex's body, but time moved slowly in his mind.

He had a moment to think, to decide.

[What do you want me to cut?] the [Wielder of Destiny] asked, its voice calm but firm.

[Choose quickly, master. I cannot save you from those attacks.]

Alex's mind raced.

He had to make a choice, and fast.

He could order the [Wielder of Destiny] to cut Lorien, killing him and stripping Varyn of half his power.

Or he could aim for Varyn himself, risking the possibility that the God of the Abyss might survive the attack within his own domain.

Both options had their risks.

If Varyn survived, Alex would be left vulnerable, and the battle would continue.

But there was another thought nagging at him.

[In the Abyss, they are in complete control.]

The idea flashed through his mind.

What if, even if he cut them, they somehow survived?

The description of [World Cleaver] had warned him.

[If the target survives (almost impossible), it will be bound by [Destiny Shackles], unable to use skills or regenerate for 60 seconds.]

But "almost impossible" wasn't the same as "impossible."

Varyn and Lorien were at their strongest here, in the heart of the Abyss.

Alex couldn't afford to take that risk.

And so, he made his decision.

"I want you to cut… the Abyss itself," Alex said, a grin spreading across his face.

The [Wielder of Destiny] paused for a moment, as if surprised by the request.

Then it nodded.

[Very well, master.]

The figure raised the [Blade of Destiny], channeling the energy of destiny itself into the weapon.

The aura around the blade grew brighter and brighter, filling Alex's mind with golden light.

The power was overwhelming, a force that seemed capable of cutting through anything, even the darkness of the Abyss.

[Open your eyes,] the [Wielder of Destiny] said, a small smile playing on its lips.

Alex obeyed, and his vision shifted back to Varyn's perspective.

He was still blind, still trapped in the [Eternal Abyss], but through Varyn's eyes, he could see what was happening.

And what he saw was astonishing.

Varyn's attack had been stopped.

Not by the Undead King, not by the [Wielder of Destiny], but by something else entirely.

[The Heart of Calamity has protected you.]

Two crimson tendrils had emerged from Alex's chest, blocking the path of Varyn's scythes.

The God of the Abyss frowned, clearly annoyed but not yet alarmed.

"Seems like you never learn, do you?" Varyn sneered.

"I just have to cut you… DOWN!"

He swung again, this time with even greater force.

The tendrils moved to block the attack, but Varyn wasn't done.

He infused his scythes with abyssal energy, merging them into a single, massive weapon.

The Heart of Calamity wouldn't be able to protect Alex from this.

But it didn't need to.

Just as Varyn was about to strike, he froze mid-attack.

His eyes widened in shock as the [Wielder of Destiny] appeared behind Alex, or, from Varyn's perspective, directly in front of him.

The figure's aura was overwhelming, a golden light that seemed to pierce through the darkness of the Abyss.

[I will cut down the Abyss,] the [Wielder of Destiny] declared, its voice echoing through the void.

Before Varyn or Lorien could react, the figure swung the [Blade of Destiny].

The motion was swift, almost effortless, but the impact was catastrophic.

SLASH!

The Abyss was cut.

For Alex, it felt like nothing had happened.@@novelbin@@

The attack was instantaneous, leaving no visible mark.

But for Varyn and Lorien, the effects were immediate and devastating.

The Abyss began to shake, a deep, rumbling vibration that grew louder and louder.

The darkness that had surrounded them started to dissolve, replaced by a blinding light.

[Eternal Abyss has been cut.]

[All the debuffs have been removed.]

Notifications flooded Alex's vision as his senses returned.

He could see again, hear again, feel again.

The darkness was gone, replaced by a bright, almost blinding light.

[I have cut the darkness of the Abyss.]

[I have cut its layers.]

[I have cut anything and everything, including the souls inside of it.]

The [Wielder of Destiny] had done exactly as Alex had asked.

It had cut through the Abyss itself, severing its connection to Varyn and Lorien.

The souls that fueled their power were gone, the layers of the Abyss destroyed.

The arena around them began to crumble, the very fabric of the Abyss unraveling.

Varyn and Lorien were powerless.

The Abyss was their source of strength, and without it, they were defenseless.

Varyn's monstrous form began to shrink, reverting to his humanoid appearance.

His eyes were wide with shock and fear as he realized what had happened.

[The Abyss has been destroyed.]

[Souls remaining: 0]

[You cannot use any of your skills anymore.]

The notifications confirmed it.

Varyn was no longer a god.

He was just a man, weak and vulnerable.

Alex stood, his body battered but his spirit unbroken.

He looked at Varyn, a smile spreading across his face.

"You had the complete advantage," Alex said, his voice calm but filled with triumph.

"And you still lost."

"No wonder you're the weakest god."
