Chapter 517: 199, Lin Mo set off, braving great dangers to return to his country!!_2
“I always feel like it’s really too difficult to live under our own identities after wiping away the impact of our past actions,”
“Actually… what your mother-in-law, your father and mother, and I think is that it’s okay to return to our roots, and if it’s really impossible to switch back to our own identities, living with fake ones isn’t out of the question,”
“After all, it’s easy to resolve Xiaoxiao and Lin Xi’s schooling problems now, at worst we can just build our own kindergarten, primary school, and middle school, and there wouldn’t be any problem with the university either.”
“Now that the Four Provinces of Mountain and River are quite popular on the internet, why don’t we just establish a university? How about we call it Mountain and River University?”
The last time they were back in East Sea City, Lin Mo had thought about founding a university, and he had even begun choosing a location and considering faculty resources.
Unfortunately…
The subsequent unexpected events occurred too quickly and were too intense; in the end, his idea was not realized.
But now things were different.
Lin Mo now was undoubtedly many times stronger than before, and the resources at his disposal were incomparable to the past; if he wanted to run a university, he just needed to give the word and he could have a top-tier institution equivalent to a 985, 211 Double First Class university.
Besides, Lin Mo could tell that, although they said they could accept living incognito for life, if there was even a slight possibility, they too wished to use their real names and live openly in Grand Xia.
“Don’t worry, I have prepared several backup plans, and only if all the preceding ones fail would we need to continue living under aliases for a while,” Lin Mo confidently said, “But the chances of that happening are slim.”
“As for the specific methods, I really can’t tell you, not because I don’t trust you, but because I don’t want to cause you undue concern.”
“You all go back to the country, rest easy, and leave the rest to me!”
The family chatted for a little while longer until the plane arrived and the flight attendants came to notify them to board first.
They were going through the VIP channel, with hardly anyone queuing up.
The family lined up in an orderly queue, looking back three times with each step as they went through the security check.
“Dad, make sure you stay safe!”
“Dad, we’ll be waiting for you at home!”
“Husband, make sure to come back safely!”
“You all take care on the road too, get some rest, and don’t get too tired!”
“Son, go for it!”
“Bro, if you need any help, make sure to tell me in advance!”
“Bro, we’ll be waiting for you at home!”
The family members were all reluctant to leave, repeatedly looking back to wave at Lin Mo, who stood at the gate.
Lin Mo stood in place, watching his family walk into the boarding bridge until they disappeared from view; then, after waiting around twenty more minutes until their plane had taken off, he turned and walked towards the parking lot.
Surrounded by Europeans and black people taller than himself, Lin Mo, being of Grand Xia nationality, did not stand out particularly.
Walking with a steady stride and not glancing sideways, he made his way through the crowd to the underground parking garage, got into the business vehicle, and said to the driver, “To Johnson Grand Xia.”
The driver nodded, started the car, and drove toward the destination.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, Lin Mo took out his phone and dialed a number with no contact name saved, spoke in a heavy tone, “My family has boarded safely, you can start your move now!”
The middle-aged man on the phone replied respectfully, “Yes, Mr. Lin, East Sea Airport is completely under our surveillance; we won’t miss any suspicious activity.”
“Also, when will you be returning?”
Lin Mo said gravely, “I’ll land at Rakshasa Airport three days from now.”
After instructing him, Lin Mo called Johnson Hester.
Once the call was connected, he asked in a deep voice, “Are you all prepared on your end?”
Johnson Hester answered truthfully, “All the handovers that needed to be done have been completed, and Grand Xia has given a formal response; they have expressed their surprise and welcome to my visit.”
Indeed.
Johnson Hester was also part of Lin Mo’s plan.
Although Grand Xia is now very powerful, it does not seek to engage in a dual superpower struggle against America as Russia once did, nor does it wish to be dragged onto the fast track of the Cold War and military competition.
Once a military race truly begins, the days ahead will be tough for everyone.
Russia collapsed because of this reason.
What Grand Xia wants is a peaceful rise, and the trend over these years shows that the longer peace lasts, the more beneficial it is for Grand Xia.
So when they heard the news of Johnson Hester visiting Grand Xia, they naturally took it very seriously.
“Very well, then you prepare, and arrive in Grand Xia in five days to officially start your visit,” Lin Mo instructed, “If nothing happens to me, your visit will proceed normally.”
“If I am in danger, someone will inform you, and you just need to follow the plan we previously arranged.”
“I will soon be at Johnson Tower, and I will inform you of the details later!”
Lin Mo had finished laying out all possible directions the matter could take and was about to hang up the phone when he heard Johnson Hester ask in confusion, “Mr. Lin, may I ask you a question?”
Lin Mo nodded, “Of course, go ahead.”
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, and after a full ten seconds or so, Johnson Hester’s voice resumed.
“Mr. Lin, with your current standing, you could clearly negotiate openly with Grand Xia and have them grant you citizenship, which I think wouldn’t be difficult.”
‘Not only do you have America’s interests at heart, but you also hold substantial power over Japan.’
“Both of these countries can be considered Grand Xia’s rivals, if you were to leverage your position in these countries to do something for Grand Xia, I think they would satisfy this minor request of yours, wouldn’t they?”
“Frankly speaking, if I had someone like you by my side, and if he happened to want to live in America, I would even offer him a position as a Supreme Court Justice nominee.”
A person like Lin Mo was beyond Johnson Hester’s comprehension.
Let alone his personal accomplishments, the mere fact that he played a decisive role in the American Duke elections was enough to shock most of the world.
It is hard to claim there would be no one else like him in the future, but he certainly is unprecedented.
If one could strike a deal with such a capable person, even at a great cost, it would undoubtedly be worthwhile.
Moreover, the conditions Lin Mo was asking for were not harsh at all—on the contrary, they were very easy to satisfy.
“I don’t want to go through such trouble,” Lin Mo said, sincerely looking out the car window at the passing streetscape. “Apart from what you suggested, I indeed have many ways to return to my homeland.”
“But I don’t like my current life, nor am I interested in politics. I just want to be a businessman, an ordinary wealthy man.”
“If I really did as you suggest, I would only remain a puppet master behind the Abyss Organization, the enigmatic and astonishing Abyss that shocks and baffles countless nations and armed groups around the world.”
“That wouldn’t be good.”
“You don’t need to ask, Grand Xia nationals and Americans inherently think differently, and it would be hard for you to understand what the call of the homeland means.”
“We will talk more about it when we meet.”
After hanging up the phone, Lin Mo headed straight for Johnson Tower and made several calls on the way.
From the moment his family returned to the homeland, Lin Mo had been on high alert to prevent anything that might disrupt his plans.
In the following days in America, Lin Mo was essentially doing the same thing.
Different was that he took some time to help Johnson Hester eliminate several of his political enemies.
These actions were necessary,
Because even though Johnson Hester had become the Duke of America, it didn’t entirely mean he could rest easy. In fact, to secure this position, the effort required was not much less than during the elections.@@novelbin@@
Especially for a Duke like Johnson Hester who wished to be re-elected, he had to achieve political merits that he could boast about.
After taking care of all these matters, Lin Mo took a shower, dressed in his favorite casual sportswear, and after saying goodbye to Chen Shanhe in the basement, he finally boarded the plane to return to Rakshasa City in Grand Xia.
What do you think?
