“No, not at all!” Jiang Nanfei responded casually, with a warm smile on her face and twinkling eyes, bestowing on her an air of friendliness and approachability.

“Is that so, miss?” A middle-aged woman inquired loudly.

“Absolutely not!” Jiang Nanfei shook her head, “I’ve known Huo Beijiang since we were kids, but Aunt Yuan doesn’t think I match up to the Huo family hence she went to our village yesterday to call off the engagement.”

Her candid disposition didn’t falter or evade, and in fact, made her more believable.
