Chapter 148 Organization 3

"This is very unexpected. Who knew I would break my limiters for weaklings like you." Blue lines began to spread from his chest and then throughout his entire body. "Its been so long since I last used this, feels strange." A blue light began pulsing in his chest. He got into a shooting stance and two machine guns materialized in his hands.

"It's been a long time, codex." He smirked and vanished from view.

The air crackled with energy as he reappeared behind Suzy, the twin machine guns roaring to life. She barely managed to dive away, but the enhanced bullets still grazed her armor, leaving smoking trails.

"Impossible," Lucia's scanner sparked and died in her hands. "Your mana readings were depleted! How are you-"

"Analyzing again?" His voice came from everywhere at once as he phased in and out of view. "Let me give you some new data."

The machine guns dissolved, reforming into a massive hammer that he brought down with devastating force. The ground shattered where Lucia had been standing a split second before. Without pausing, the hammer morphed into a chain that wrapped around her ankle, yanking her off balance.

Suzy rushed to help, but her naivness is what he was counting on. The chain transformed into a shield that blocked her enhanced punch, then immediately reshaped into a spear that forced her back.

"Your enhancement gives you strength," he taunted, the spear splitting into multiple floating blades that orbited him like deadly satellites. "But I've got experience."

The blades launched forward in a deadly pattern. Both women weaved through the assault, their enhanced bodies letting them move with incredible precision. But Vell wasn't finished. Each blade that missed exploded into shrapnel, forcing them to constantly adjust their movements.

"Pattern Sigma!" Lucia called out, pulling another device from her belt. But before she could activate it, one of Vell's projectiles knocked it from her hand. The device skittered across the ground, only to be crushed under a massive mechanical boot as Vell's form shifted again.

Now encased in partial combat armor that grew and reshaped itself with each movement, he pressed his advantage. The armor's segments flowed like liquid metal, sprouting weapons that fired, struck, and reformed faster than the eye could track.

"All that research," he growled, the armor around his arms transforming into savage claws, "and you never realized one thing." He closed the distance in an instant, the claws leaving deep gouges in Suzy's enhanced flesh despite her reinforced skin. "I've been holding back, massively."

Lucia tried to circle behind him, but panels on his back opened up, releasing a swarm of small drones that harried her with precise energy blasts. Each time she destroyed one, two more took its place, forcing her to constantly defend.

"The corruption studies and whatever you have been digging up on me, was all for nothing," he continued, his armor constantly shifting to counter their increasingly desperate attacks. "You thought you were learning my limits." The armor retracted from his right arm, condensing into a cannon that hummed with building power. "You were only seeing what I chose to show."

The cannon fired, releasing a beam of concentrated energy that carved a trench through the street. Both of them barely managed to avoid it, but the blast had been a distraction. By the time they recovered, Vell had reshaped his arsenal once again.

He stood before them now, holding what looked like a simple katana. But the blade pulsed with an inner light that made their enhanced senses scream in warning.

"Let me show you," he said softly, the blue lines across his body glowing brighter, "what it means to truly understand power."

The blade moved, and reality seemed to bend around its edge. Before either woman could react, he was between them.

Suzy screamed as her right arm fell to the ground, cleanly severed at the shoulder. The enhancement serum tried to close the wound, dark veins pulsing around the cut, but it wasn't enough.

"Too slow," he said quietly. The katana flashed again, taking her left leg at the knee. She collapsed, her enhanced body now working against her as the serum kept her conscious through the pain.

"Suzy!" Lucia tried to reach her partner, but Vell's blade was everywhere at once. Each swing was precise, calculated. He wasn't just fighting anymore - he was dismantling.

"You wanted to study me?" His voice was eerily calm as he cut through Suzy's remaining limbs, leaving her a torso on the ground. "Study this."

Her screams echoed off the walls as the serum kept her breathing, kept her feeling everything. Her enhanced healing was now a curse, preventing her from passing out.

"Stop!" Lucia's voice cracked. Gone was the clinical researcher, replaced by raw fear. "We can help you! The Organization-"

"You still don't get it." He turned to her, his eyes glowing with that cold light. Bloody footprints marked his path as he walked through the growing pool around Suzy. "There's nothing you can offer me now. You said they will send more after me, so why should I spare you?"

The katana shifted in his grip, becoming something longer, heavier. A massive executioner's blade that hummed with the same deadly energy.

"Please," she backed away, her body trembling. All her data, all her analysis meant nothing in the face of this methodical brutality. "We were just following orders-"

"What a shallow reason." The blade came down. She managed to dodge, but not completely. Her left arm fell away at the elbow, the wound cauterized by the blade's energy.

She staggered back, looking at him with dawning horror. This wasn't a fight anymore. This wasn't even an execution. This was a predator toying with its prey.

'Dammit, I knew this was a bad idea... I am going to die.' She thought, tears slowly forming in her eyes. 'I have to try something, anything.' Desperations was messing up her logical thinking.

"The Organization will hunt you down," she tried one last time, clutching her severed arm. "They'll send others-"

"You said that already, or did fear make you forget." The executioner's blade dissolved, replaced by a simple combat knife. "And like I said before, let them come, I will use them as my test subjects." He smiled.

He then moved like a shadow, the knife finding gaps in her defense. Each cut was precise, targeting tendons and muscle groups. Her strength meant nothing as her body betrayed her, piece by piece.@@novelbin@@

Behind them, Suzy had gone quiet, her eyes glazed but still conscious. The serum wouldn't let her die, not yet.

"Your research data," he said conversationally as he systematically disabled her remaining limbs, "was it worth it?"

She couldn't answer through the pain. Her healing kept trying to repair the damage, but he was too fast, too precise. Each wound was calculated to cause maximum suffering while keeping her aware.

"All those people you tortured," he continued, his voice still eerily calm. "All those lives you ruined, Ada? And for what? To try and understand corrupted mana?"

The knife found her spine, and her legs gave out. She fell next to Suzy, their bodies now just broken vessels of pain.

"Let me make it simple for you." He knelt between them, the blue lines on his body pulsing with colder light. "I'm what happens when you push too far. When you break something that can't be fixed."

His hand moved, and the knife became a simple pistol. Old-fashioned, practical.

"The Organization will..." she tried to speak, but blood filled her mouth.

"Send more people. Yes, you said that." He pressed the barrel to her forehead. "Tell them I'm waiting."

The shot echoed through the empty street. Her body finally went still.

He turned to Suzy, who stared at him with eyes full of terror and understanding. She tried to speak, but only a whimper came out.

"Shhh," he said softly, leveling the pistol. "The fun is over."

A second shot, and silence fell.

He stood slowly, the pistol dissolving into blue light. The lines on his body began to fade as he looked at the carnage around him. A message had been sent. The Organization would think twice before coming after him again.

"First limiter," he whispered, "seal."

He turned away from the bodies, his steps steady despite the drain of power. There would be more battles, more hunters. But for now, his family was safe. That was all that mattered.

As he left, Pain shot through his body with each step. Using the codex after so long, while also not having a lot of mana had taken its toll, his reserves were dangerously low. The captured devices felt heavy in his pockets as he tracked his family's trail through the city's back alleys.

'So that's how strong the organization of did that figure from before exaggerate? No, they were definitely strong, old me wouldn't have lasted a minute against them. But why send them, I am sure they have stronger people. I should start being careful, I have a fami-' One of his beast bonds snapped and then another.
